A: Once you purchase the Ipad and choose a carrier then you call that carrier and as long as your in good standing with them and the device is paid off then any carrier should be able to unlock your IPad using your MSID# to that IPAD.
Q: Tablet Do I need a plan when I have WI Fi at home on most tablets
A: There are WiFi only tablets that do not require a plan. Often cellular carriers give a discount on tablets like this one, but to get the discount you must add it to your account with a plan. I have this tablet and the connectivity works great on the Big Red network and WiFi both.
A: You can transfer the apps themselves but not the data contained in them.
Q: How can this be the latest model when it has an A9 chip and the newer ones have an A10 chip?
A: This is the "regular" iPad and not the "pro" that is the same physical size. This would be the iPad Air 3 if Apple ever wanted to stop causing confusion.
A: Yes you can order online. You need to back up your iPad which can be done in settings then Apple ID then iCloud and when you get a new one you simply enter your iCloud info into the new one and everything will be there.
A: Don't just think about your needs today - what will you need a few years from now too, or for as long as you own this. Video takes up a lot of space. though if you store everything in the cloud, storage isn't as big of a deal. Just for reference, my iPhone is 32GB, and I have email, apps, photos (not many) and about 1200 songs, and it's almost full. Add a few movies for watching on the airplane, and I'd be out of space.
Q: Can the “stylus” pen be used with this model ?
A: Yes, it can, at least as of July 2018 According to the product page on the Apple website itself
