Q: Does it have the new charger or the old big kind
A: It has the new lightning charger.
Q: Why do you have to have a cellular plan with the ipod, can't you just use it on wifi?
A: The best way to justify the need for a cellular plan on an iPad or iPod is because you may have a mobile business where you may need to use cellular data while in a clients home or while on a business trip. Other than that I’m not really sure why you want to use it unless you need immediate access to some resource that is needed immediately.
A: The restrictions setting is very helpful.You would want to disable access to the App Store , Apple Music and Safari using the restrictions setting. No restriction is perfect but this does a pretty good job. You can read more about the various lock-down settings here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201304 Texting is limited to other Apple Users using Apple Texting which is called iMessage. You will most likely need to use an iCloud email address for texting rather than a phone number.
Q: I just bought this and I can't send or receive text from non iPhone users. How do I fix this?
A: YOU CAN'T! My biggest disappointment too!
A: As a Verizon customer, I went into BB to purchase a new iPad, not knowing there was a VERIZON Rep there, at the store to help with my decision. She did EVERYTHING I needed to get me set up for use of my iPad. About 90% of my stuff transferred over & I worked on the rest in my spare time. All done now, & all is working fine!! It being a cellular unit, instead of WiFi is confusing to me, a little, but my speed & access has improved,& that’s what I was looking for.
Q: Is the price still $259 if I don’t get a plan for it?
A: For me the answer was no. The price is not going to be 259 if you opted of the contract for example with carrier / Verizon. You are locked in for 2 years
