I have this adapter cable for my car but this is my second one in less that a year. It works but these items should be more durable. Two months already and it's not working anymore.

Used it to connect my iPhone to vw passat IPod dock connector 30 pin. Hopefully the cable is available in different lengths.

This is exactly what I needed to make another 8 prong cable to be compatible with my iPhone and the boat stereo.

I saw this 30 pin connection coming my cars console. I had hoped it would connect my IPhone 5s to the cars radio and speaker system. It did NOT! ??? It is an expensive connector so I will hopefully get use from it in the future.

Apple makes two Lightning to 30 pin adapters. The small one (without any cable) is less expensive, so I purchased a couple instead of the more expensive adapter cable. Nobody in my family (many iDevices) has ever been able to use the small adapters, however, because the Lightning "tongue" does not extend long enough to make a secure connection when the iPhone or iPad is protected by a case or sleeve. The adapter cable is very short, just long enough to let the connected iPhone or iPad lie on the console in my car or on top of the iHome music player. The Lightning to 30 pin adapter cable solves the adapting & connecting problem perfectly because the Lightning plug is small enough to fit through the openings in the iPhone and iPad cases. Using the adapter cable, I can connect my iPhone to my car's audio system (both charging and playing music), and use it with my iHome music player (both charging and playing music). I have purchased an adapter cable for every car & iHome music player in the house. They store easily in my car when not being used.

If you need a connector for your lightning iPhone because your car's cable is 30-pin, then this is the perfect cable is for you. I have the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited and I use this with the iPod cable that came with it. It's the cable that requires you to plug in with both the USB and accessory at the same time at one end, and the iPhone 30-pin at the other end. This adaptor cable gives you full use of your lightning iPhone (5 or 6 models) in your car. The important step is to plug the cables into your phone BEFORE you plug anything into your car. Also, if you start to stream from your phone to the car at anytime, then you'll have to deactivate streaming and re-plug-in your phone to the car to get the car to reconnect to the phone through the cable.

Needed an adapter that would fit my Bose and Sony docking stations 30-pin connections for my new iPhone 6 with its OtterBox Commuter case. BB associate Tom Graney suggested this cable. Works like a charm. Plays music through both older model docking stations and charges my iPhone 6. Simple solution.

It does what expected in that it transforms my 30 pin cable into a lightning connection. I have a 30 pin speakers in the house and this allowed me to connect my iPhone 5s, play my music and audio books and charge the phone. ..... I actually bought this cable to use in my VW Rabbit where I have a 30 pin cable that was wired to work through the radio speakers. I connected this cable. It works as far as playing music and audio books, but it doesn't charge my phone as the 30 pin cable connection did connected to my iPod. Anyone with any ideas I'd appreciate hearing. I have googled without finding a solution. It is hard to find a cigaret charger for my car so thought this cable would help solve that problem.

If I was not able to find this cable at Best Buy I would be lost in life....and without power :( Best Buy, Apple, and my bank account seriously pulled through and provided the cable of my dreams. No fancy frills or sparkly decor....just pure, sweet, lightning cable charging power (enter Tim Allen and that beautiful, powerful grunt)!!! Now my phone is back up and running like a champion. Best $30-$40 I've spent in at least 15-36 days. Don't buy one, buy nine...you'll thank me later. PS. I'll let you in on an a secret circulating the underground apple blogs....word is you can even charge iPads and possibly iPods as well.

I purchased the cable so that I could connect my iPhone 5S to some older devices that only had the legacy 30-pin input. For simpler devices, like docking stations with speakers, it did the job. However, it created havoc with my old Alpine car stereo. I have a 30-pin cable that runs from the stereo so I can plug my phone in and navigate my music directly through the stereo on the dash, but introducing the converter cable causes serious malfunctions. Separately, the form factor for the lightning input does not support most 5 series phones if you have a case. Rather than remove my case every time I want to use the cable, I actually had to file the opening on the case out a bit to accommodate.

Imagine, your sitting on hundreds of dollars of Apple Certified high end audio equipment for your iPhone when, Poof! New connector and no way to fit large adapters through your case. Luckily this is the one adapter that solves most of your troubles. You can't of course sit your equipment in the dock anymore but the connector charges and fits most cases correctly and is well made. I am very happy this one was made as the short 30 pin adapter fit no cases and was not well made.

I bought this adapter to convert the iPod connector in my Mercedes so that I could plug my new iPhone in to listen to iTunes while driving. The adapter worked and the car recognizes my phone allowing me to use the steering wheel controls for limited access to my music on my iPhone. I don't have as much functionality as before with my old iPod, but that is not the adapters fault (more likely due to the nature of a modern iPhone vs. an old iPod). I'm just thrilled that I can still access my iTunes while in my car. Very happy with the results!

I had an old 30-pin iPod and a FM transmitter to play it in my work vehicle. I bought an iPhone 6s Plus and no longer needed to use my iPod but didn't want to buy a new transmitter. I found this adapter in the Apple section of my Best Buy store and decided to give it a try. This thing did the job perfectly! Unfortunately, the transmitter broke a few weeks later but not because of this product. I would definitely recommend this adapter for anyone looking to make their old 30-pin Apple products compatible with the newer products.

When my boyfriend upgraded from the 32-pin iPod Touch to the 8-pin iPod Touch we needed a new wire for the car. The car manufacturer has yet to offer a new wire for the 8-pin Apple products so we got creative and purchased this wire to convert the 32-pin to the 8-pin. When it works, it works beautifully but sometimes the car tells us that there is a loading error but the iPod still charges. We're not sure if it's the wire or the car or both not wanting to work together. But other than the troubles that it causes us occasionally it does exactly what you want it to do!

Got this cable so I could connect my iPhone 6 to my car. I had installed an IPod interface in my car but the built in cable was for the old 30 pin connector. I could not use the smaller 30 pin to lightning adapter because it would fit through my phone case's port access. This works perfectly to connect to the car for audio and charging and it fit through the case just like the apple cable that came with the phone.

I have a first generation Bose Sound Dock and I wanted to connect my new iPhone to it. Since the older Bose unit didn't have Bluetooth or an Aux out port, I needed to find a way to connect my Lightning iPhone to the older 30-pin connector on the Bose. When I bought this adapter, I was hopeful, and in fact, it worked like a dream. Connecting older devices to a new iPhone is easy with this adapter. I do wish the cost was less, but it beats buying a new Bose speaker.
