Customer Ratings & Reviews

Picked up the Mac Mini (16GB RAM, 256GB SSD) from Best Buy and I’m super happy with it. This thing is fast, quiet, and handles everything I throw at it—web browsing, work apps, even some light coding—without breaking a sweat. The 16GB RAM makes a big difference if you tend to keep a bunch of stuff open. The 256GB storage is fine for my needs, but if you deal with a lot of large files, you’ll probably want to add an external drive. I love how compact and clean it looks on my desk. Setup was a breeze, and it plays really well with my other Apple devices. Shipping from Best Buy was quick and hassle-free too. If you’re looking for a smooth, no-nonsense desktop setup, this is definitely worth it.

I purchased the Mac mini at Best Buy and it has exceeded all my expectations. From day one, it has performed flawlessly—fast, quiet, and incredibly powerful for video editing, streaming, and everyday tasks. Setup was simple, and it was ready to use within minutes. The build quality is exceptional, and its compact size saves valuable desk space. In addition, the Best Buy staff was very friendly and helped me choose the ideal configuration.

The Mac Mini M4 is one of the most impressive desktop computers available at its price point, and after spending significant time with it, I can say without hesitation that it earns every bit of the hype. Apple has packed its latest and most capable silicon into a chassis barely bigger than a hardcover book, and the result is a machine that rivals desktops costing two to three times as much. Whether you’re a creative professional, a power user running demanding productivity workflows, or someone diving deep into AI and automation tools, this machine rises to every occasion without breaking a sweat. It is quiet, fast, compact, and genuinely exciting to use every single day. The Best Buy Experience: From Click to Counter Without a Headache No review of this particular purchase would be complete without acknowledging how well Best Buy handled what was genuinely a chaotic product launch. The Mac Mini M4 was one of the most in-demand electronics releases of the year. Online retailers sold out within hours, shipping estimates stretched into weeks, and third-party sellers immediately inflated prices above MSRP. Getting one at launch without overpaying required either luck or a smarter strategy. Best Buy provided that smarter strategy in the form of their online order with in-store pickup option, and the execution was flawless from start to finish. The ordering process itself took roughly three minutes on the website. Critically, Best Buy’s site accurately reflected real-time inventory at local stores, which is something many major retailers still fail to do reliably. There is nothing more frustrating than completing an order only to receive a cancellation or an indefinite delay because the site showed inventory that didn’t actually exist. That didn’t happen here. The inventory was accurate, the ordering process was clean, and the confirmation came through immediately. Within about an hour of placing the order, a second notification arrived confirming the item was ready for pickup. Not days later. Not a vague “we’ll let you know when it’s ready” message that leaves you checking your phone every thirty minutes. One hour, confirmed, ready to go. The in-store experience matched the quality of the online process. Pickup was handled at a dedicated counter with a short line and staff who clearly knew what they were doing. The transaction took under five minutes. There was no upsell pressure, no confusion about the order, and no wasted time. Just a smooth, professional handoff of a product that a lot of people were competing to get. This is worth emphasizing because it’s genuinely impressive for a high-demand product launch. Best Buy had its inventory managed, its systems synchronized, and its staff prepared in a way that made the whole experience feel frictionless. In an era where buying popular tech can feel like a competitive sport full of bots, scalpers, and fulfillment failures, Best Buy delivered a retail experience that actually worked the way retail is supposed to work. For anyone considering where to purchase the Mac Mini, in-store pickup at Best Buy is a straightforward recommendation. Who Should Buy the Mac Mini M4 The Mac Mini M4 is the right choice for a wide range of buyers. If you already own a monitor, keyboard, and mouse and are looking for a compact, powerful desktop to anchor your setup, this is one of the best options available at any price point under $1,500. It is particularly well-suited for creative professionals doing photo and video editing, developers running local environments or AI tools, students and academics who need reliable performance for research and productivity, small business owners who want a capable machine without a large hardware budget, and anyone exploring AI, automation, or content creation as either a profession or a side project. It is also a compelling choice for anyone making the switch from Windows who wants a machine that will last five or more years, deliver consistent performance, and require minimal maintenance or troubleshooting. The one category of user who might want to look elsewhere is someone who needs a machine primarily for high-end PC gaming. While the M4 handles gaming better than any previous Mac chip, the Windows ecosystem still offers more titles and better graphics performance at equivalent price points for that specific use case. For everyone else, the Mac Mini M4 is difficult to argue against.

The Mac mini has been an excellent addition to my workspace. It delivers fast, smooth performance for everyday tasks and more demanding use, all in a compact design that fits perfectly on my desk. Everything runs efficiently, from multitasking to media use, with no lag or slowdowns. I really appreciate how quiet and reliable it is, even during longer sessions. Setup was simple, and it integrated seamlessly with my existing accessories and display. The small footprint helps keep my workspace clean while still providing strong performance. Overall, the Mac mini offers impressive power, reliability, and efficiency in a minimal form factor. It’s a great option for anyone looking for a dependable desktop that doesn’t take up much space.

This Mac mini is an excellent choice for school-age kids, especially elementary through middle school. It’s fast, quiet, and incredibly easy to set up. The new M4 chip makes everything feel smooth, whether it’s homework, browsing, light creative work, or school apps. Parental controls are simple to manage and give great peace of mind. I also love that it works seamlessly with any monitor, so you don’t need to buy extra Apple hardware to get started. Just plug it in and go. The size is compact, the performance is impressive, and it feels like it will last for years. For the price, this is one of the best desktop options out there for families and students. Highly recommend.

Apple Mac mini with M4 Chip The Apple Mac mini with M4 Chip delivers a remarkable blend of performance, efficiency, and compact design that makes it one of the most compelling small-form-factor desktops on the market today. Design & Build Apple has refined the Mac mini into an even smaller and more powerful machine without sacrificing its signature minimal footprint. The sleek aluminum chassis fits easily into home offices, studio desks, or tight workstations. The addition of front-facing USB-C ports improves accessibility for everyday peripherals. Performance Powered by Apple’s M4 chip, this Mac mini handles everyday tasks with effortless speed and responsiveness — from web browsing and office apps to photo editing and light video work. Benchmarks show strong gains over previous generations in both single- and multi-core performance, and reviewers note that even demanding applications feel snappy. Unlike many compact desktops, it stays quiet and cool during normal use, and rarely needs to ramp up the fan, making it a great choice for quiet environments like living rooms or creative studios. Connectivity You get a versatile set of ports — including multiple Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C connectors, HDMI, Ethernet, and audio — giving you plenty of options for displays, storage, and accessories. Support for up to three external monitors makes it ideal for multitaskers and creative pros. Real-World Use Users and reviews consistently praise the Mac mini for its smooth multitasking, strong creative performance, and excellent integration with macOS. Customer feedback highlights its fast processor and compact size, with many recommending it for both productivity and everyday home use. Things to Consider While performance and design are big wins, a few limitations are worth noting: • Storage & RAM upgrades are pricey when configured at purchase, and internal upgrades later aren’t possible due to soldered components. • The base 256 GB SSD is on the smaller side for modern workflows, especially if you work with large media files. • Under sustained heavy loads, it can get louder than previous models. Verdict The Mac mini with M4 chip is a compact powerhouse that punches well above its size class — perfect for students, creatives, and anyone wanting a capable, quiet desktop. If you want more storage or future-proofing, consider configuring a larger SSD or more RAM at purchase. Overall: (5/5)

I’ve been using the new Mac mini M4 for a few weeks, and I’m really impressed. It’s small, completely silent, and incredibly powerful for its size. As a programmer, it handles everything I need from running multiple development environments to compiling large projects without breaking a sweat. What I love most is its versatility. It works just as well as a compact workstation on my desk as it does connected to my TV for entertainment. The performance is smooth, apps open instantly, and it stays cool even under heavy use. Overall, the Mac mini M4 is an excellent choice if you want a powerful and quiet desktop that fits anywhere. Pros: Small, silent, powerful, versatile Cons: None so far

I purchased the Apple Mac mini Desktop (Latest Model, M4 Chip, 16GB Memory, 256GB SSD) from Best Buy for $698, and I couldn’t be happier with this incredible little machine. First off, the size and design are mind-blowing. It’s incredibly small and sleek, fitting seamlessly into my office workspace without taking up much room. Despite its compact form, this device is a true powerhouse. The M4 chip ensures lightning-fast performance, whether I’m multitasking, editing videos, or running other high performance applications. The 16GB of memory and 256GB SSD provide ample speed and storage for my daily tasks. I was pleasantly surprised by how effortlessly it handles everything I throw at it, all while staying whisper-quiet. At $698, this Mac mini offers phenomenal value for the performance and build quality it delivers. It’s perfect for anyone looking for a high-performing desktop that doesn’t break the bank or take up too much space. Highly recommended for those in need of a powerful, efficient, and beautifully designed computer!

excellent machine, very small and if need to, portable. has plenty of ports, super quiete. processor is very fast, I have it connected to my tv and its perfect. connects and works very well with my iPad and my iPhone making the apple ecosystem run smoothly. totally recommend purchasing this product.

This is my first non laptop Apple computer. I used a Macbook for years, it was all I needed at the time. I never considered the older Mini, either the Intel based or M1/2 based ones, they were ok for what they were but they lacked normal priced upgrade options...seriously $200 for 256GB of additional storage is nuts! This new one still suffers from Apples delusional upgrade pricing, but they at least start you off with more ram (16GB) instead of a measly 8GB, and the M4 chip in the base model is plenty powerful enough for even heavy editing work. I got around the idiotic upgrade pricing for the storage by adding a Thunderbolt 4 external enclosure (around $50) and added my own 4TB NVMe ssd from Crucial. It's VERY fast storage, you wont miss having overpaid for it internally at all. The size is truly tiny, like palm of your hand tiny, and it's not getting too hot in my pretty hard usage of it today, I'm really impressed with that last part. All told, if you are in the Apple ecosystem, or even if you want to break into it, this is the lowest cost device they sell to allow you to have a truly powerful desktop at your disposal. Apple hit it out of the park with this one, if you're on the fence, hop over to the dark side and give this puppy a try out, you will not be disappointed!

The Mac mini M4 is exactly what I needed. It’s small, quiet, and super easy to set up. I mainly use it for email, web browsing, and light photo editing, and it runs everything smoothly. It’s not meant for heavy creative work, but for everyday tasks it’s fast, reliable, and a great value for the price. If you want a simple, compact desktop that just works, this is a solid choice.

I’ve been using the Mac mini M4 for a short time now, and it’s honestly impressive how much power Apple packed into such a small, quiet machine. Performance is excellent, everything feels instant, from everyday multitasking to heavier workloads. It runs cool, silent, and handles multiple displays without breaking a sweat. Setup was effortless, macOS is smooth as ever, and the overall build quality is exactly what you’d expect from Apple. For the size and power, this is one of the best desktop values Apple has put out in years. I also want to highlight my great experience with Best Buy’s price match. I was able to get the price matched to Micro Center, which made the deal even better and sealed the purchase for me. The process was straightforward and hassle-free. If you’re looking for a compact, powerful desktop and want flexibility on pricing, this is an easy recommendation. I had attached to back of apple Studio Display stand and hides easily

Its a small 5x5 desktop computer that compact enough it fits in any limited space. And for such great value for money for an Apple product. Even after playing some games on it such as Asphalt 8+ you hardly hear any noise coming from it. It runs smooth, quiet, and is very responsive when opening apps. It excels at productivity tasks Web browsing, listening to music, watching movies, shows. This is a great entry point into macOS and a great deal for those who don't want to end up spending more then $1k for a macbook or imac. Another plus is you can easily connect it to 3rd party accessories including monitors especially if you use both windows and mac. Another bonus with this is the ability to upgrade the storage with third party accessories, something you cannot do on other macs. This is by far the most affordable and customizable mac in the lineup. Only few complaints was getting some files migrated from my old windows pc C drive to this took a few misses. I wind up having to create a separate user admin profile and then migrating over documents. Do remember if your ever going to migrate data from Windows to Mac make sure firewall is OFF on windows so that the data transfer is smooth. And the inability to shut down the mac from the lock screen is another complaint I have. But overall a great product and entry point into macOS.

The new Mac mini with the M4 chip is seriously impressive. It’s incredibly fast for everyday tasks, multitasking, and even more demanding workloads like photo editing and light video work. Everything feels smooth and responsive. The 16GB of memory makes a big difference, especially if you keep multiple apps open. It stays silent and cool, which is something I really appreciate compared to traditional desktops. The only downside is the 256GB storage—it fills up quickly, so you may need external storage if you work with large files. But overall, for the price and performance, it’s one of the best compact desktops available right now.

The Mac mini with the M4 chip is an impressive machine. It’s incredibly fast, quiet, and efficient for its size. Everyday tasks feel instant, and it handles heavier workloads like development work, multitasking, and media editing without any slowdown. The M4 chip delivers strong performance while staying cool and silent, which makes it perfect for long work sessions. The compact design is a huge plus — it takes up almost no desk space but performs like a much larger desktop. macOS runs smoothly, apps open quickly, and overall system responsiveness is excellent. Power efficiency is also noticeable compared to older desktops. If you want a powerful, reliable desktop in a small form factor, the Mac mini is a great choice. Pros: Fast and responsive performance Silent operation Small, clean design Energy efficient Cons: Limited upgrade options Highly recommended.

I am blown away by the new M4 Mac Mini. For years I’ve used Intel Macs, but this little 5x5 inch box is a game-changer. It is incredibly fast, instantly responsive, and silent. I went with the base M4 model (16GB RAM) and it handles everything—from Lightroom editing to 30+ browser tabs—without a hitch. The new front-facing ports are a genius touch for plugging in drives quickly. If you have a monitor and keyboard, this is hands-down the best value in computing right now. It takes up almost no space on my desk. Highly recommended!

I absolutely love my Mac mini. It’s fast, quiet, and insanely reliable for how small it is. It handles everything I throw at it with zero issues—from everyday tasks to heavier creative work—and never feels sluggish. I love how minimal and compact it is; it fits perfectly into my setup without taking up space, yet it performs like a much bigger machine. The performance is smooth and consistent, apps open instantly, and multitasking feels effortless. It also stays cool and silent, which I really appreciate during long sessions. For the price, the power you get is honestly impressive, and it feels like a computer that’ll last me for years. Overall, it’s easily one of my favorite tech purchases—simple, powerful, and just works exactly how I need it to.

I purchased the Mac mini from Best Buy as an upgrade to my older desktop, and it has honestly exceeded my expectations. I use it daily for work that includes programming, simulations, and general productivity, and it handles everything smoothly without slowing down. What surprised me most is how powerful it feels despite the tiny size. It sits quietly on my desk, never gets noisy, and stays cool even during long work sessions. Setup took just a few minutes, and macOS feels fast and polished right out of the box. I already had a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, so the Mac mini was a perfect fit and saved me money compared to buying an all-in-one system. If you’re looking for a clean, reliable desktop that delivers serious performance without taking up space, this is an easy recommendation.

I bought the base model with 256GB memory, simply because you can add a 2TB external drive with USB-C for less than $100 and it's portable / replaceable. I got a TotalTech deal for $549, and $25 back in rewards, so realistically I only paid $525 for it. DEAL... It's super small, fast, and I love all the USB-C ports. Instead of trading in my old M1 Mac mini ($200 trade), I kept it and connected it to my 70" 4K TV in the main room. It's nice to have it as a backup computer. Simply connect a wireless keyboard and ,ouse, and it's like having a huge computer in your family room. Connect the Apple CD/DVD drive to it and you can watch movies on it, replacing the old DVD player on your shelf. The fact that this has 16GB RAM as a base model at that price really is amazing. Nice job, Apple and N Canton, OH BestBuy!!

I’m completely satisfied with my Mac Mini M4. It meets all my needs for both work and study. The performance is fast, smooth, and reliable, and the system itself is intuitive and easy to use. It’s simply brilliant. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful yet compact desktop. From my perspective, what really makes the Mac Mini M4 stand out is how effortlessly it balances performance and efficiency — you get desktop-class power in such a small form factor, without any noise or overheating. Apple has done an outstanding job with this machine.
