Love, Love..must buy!
This is my second mac. First one was a macbook pro 2012 edition and i thought i needed an upgrade. I browsed around for a bit between laptops ranging from DELL TO HP TO LENOVO, I did not want to go back to an apple product again but seeing the deal on this macbook air and the specs and what I was looking for, I decided to purchase another one. For the price you are paying for a late 2018 edition macbook air, it is so light, fast for daily basic use. I am an artist, I use photoshop a lot and clip studio art for illustration and I found that this mac is able to handle those softwares. It is good for daily web browsing, microsoft office, and your basic needs. I would not recommend this mac for vblog since it does not have the proper graphics card and specs to handle photo editing, it can manage but it will be very slow. Another reason for the purchase is, this macbook comes in GOLD!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! GOLD!! Very professional look, you can find bargain cases on amazon to fit your personal style. MIND YOU: That you will needed a thunderbolt converter in order to use any USB items, which can be a pain but it isn't soo bad. Charging for this mac is fast and the average time for me would be about 7hrs of battery life close to 8hrs if I am watching a movie and browsing like a busy bee that I am. For the price and specs, I say this is a must buy. If you are on a budget then . I suggest either save up for this computer or find an alternative, but you can never go wrong with this stylish computer. The keyboard is very responsive, very silent and comfortable to the touch. Anyhow happy shopping and I hope that this review finds you and allows you to make a solid decision. If all else fails just youtube a few laptops out there to get a sensible picture to how the laptop of your choice may perform.

So far so good
So far so good 3-4 weeks in. Pro's so far: • Quite decent battery life. • 16 GB of RAM lets me run Chrome, virtualbox no problem. • Sharp screen on the laptop itself. I have it also connected to an LG Ultrafine and the picture / refresh is spectacular. • T2/TouchID helpful, especially because I use a password manager that accepts TouchID. Con's so far: • New cables. This is the first USB-C device I have, and I dread the new ecosystem of USB Cables. Sigh - https://xkcd.com/1406/ • This noisy keyboard. I sure hope it lasts, but it is noisy. Like every key stroke hits with a thud. The key travel isn't nearly what it is on the MBAir 2011 that this 2018 MBAir replaces. The magic keyboard also sounds silent. As a strategy, I try and buy the best laptop I can with the money I have. The MBAir 2011, with its solid state drive was a revolutionary machine back then and it still functions well as a backup computer for me. It had 8 years of good life. I was even able to replace via ifixit.com the adhesive battery. I do worry about the 2018 MBAir, if I will be able to get another 8 years of life out of this unit, or if any of its components will be serviceable.

Love my new MacBook Air!
Fast, lighter but same bells and whistles from my mid 2011 MacBook Air. I just wish Apple would rename products more carefully..."gold" is a little confusing. I would have named the colors champagne, rose gold and copper. Great experience in dealing with Best Buy..we have bought all of our Apple MACs from them.
