I love apple products. It was time for a new computer. I was looking at the MacBook Pro with the touch bar and without. I opted for the lesser option. The touch bar is not really needed. The only thing that I am not happy about is the missing USB ports. I love that is light and thin. Previous MacBooks are so heavy.

The new Macbook Pro 13" with Retina screen is a great computer with plenty of horsepower. The two draw-backs for this version of MacBook Pro 13" (I owned an early 2011 model-and wore it out) are (1) that it only comes with two Thunderbolt 3 ports and (2) the small amount of storage (250 GB). This makes connecting to external video monitors, usb devices, and SD cards impossible without purchasing Thunderbolt 3 dongles. There is also no optical drive without buying a separate, usb powered one (see connectivity issue). The connectivity and storage issues causes me to give 4, rather than 5 stars to the new MacBook Pro 13".

First, Im not IT/comp savvy, I needed useful portable laptop or tablet for my profession and personal use. This laptop cannot be replaced by iPad Pro simply cuz laptop can run Flash (still used in online classes). Where to start? It's simply gorgeous to look at and pleasure to touch its finely crafted chassy. The trackpad---just wow, so useful--you don't need a mouse. The screen is Stunning. The laptop is only 3lbs. MacOS is so smoothly integrated btw apps and intuitive with many useful shortcuts. So happy to have finally bought a Mac. Highly recommend it, esp. at BestBuy, since you get 0% for 12 mo's.Please treat yourself and live up the American dream :-)

This is my second purchase of a Apple MacBook Pro laptop. The quality, speed and compact design are superb! The longevity of the battery life is awesome. The new and improved keyboard functions are fantastic! As always, thanks Apple for another new product that tastes, smells and feels even better than the last crop!!

After a year and two months, my MacBook Pro 2016 model started to have this weird problem. I have to slowly open my mac screen and until 45 degrees, the screen looks good as new, after that screen brightness slowly goes down with backlight issue(in the picture) at the bottom of the screen, and at close to 90 degrees the screen goes completely black, I can still see the background content, it's kind of zero brightness. Apple authorized service providers recommended replacing the entire screen and without AppleCare, it is more than $700 USD equivalent here in India. I will have to live with this problem and use an external monitor as the cost of repair is too high. I can only open the screen until 80 degrees to use the machine with backlight issue at the bottom.

So disappointed in this laptop. Replaced the main logic board and in less than a year it quit working again. So frustrating! Enjoyed it while it was working however. Will not Choose to have it repaired. Hard earned money thrown away on this purchase. No more Macs for me.

This is my second Mac Pro, I am replacing a 2013 13" MBPr. I am only replacing it because my wife needed a laptop. I did not want her to use a windows device after her use of iPhones and iPad's. I thought it would be too frustrating for her and me. I will not turn this into a Apple vs Windows review, but I will keep it to a review of this new product. I had a 2013 MBPr which I loved, I seriously considered buying the 2015 model because of the price, no loss of ports and similar performance specs. I found the new model on sale at Best Buy and decided to purchase it. The new MacBook and my previous model have the same amount of disk storage and memory. The main difference is the generation of processors and physical size of the unit. I researched almost every review and article I could find. The overall consensus was that it lacks ports and the keyboard feels a bit different. I totally agree, I wish they would have keep a legacy USB port , SD card slot and the Mag safe charge connector. If you are on the go and need to connect devices with different connector I can see where it might be a pain. I purchased one connector at the time of purchase to connect usb devices $8.99. I will use wireless for most of my connections via airport usb hard disk. Without going into performance specs and benchmarks the following is my opinion of this model compared to my older mode. Performance is not really noticeable compared to my 2013, it did everything I needed to do. I use it for general web surfing , e-mail and banking. I don't game or do any professional video processing. I have done some work with videos of the grandkid's and photo albums. Everything seems about on par with my older model. I love the size being a bit smaller and the keyboard is no big issue, I do type so for me it seems great. It is a bit louder than the older model and the track pad is larger but I don't really notice the difference. Someone who uses all the features may notice, and the reviewers love it. The display looks great but unless it is side by side with my older model it is not noticeable. To sum things up for the average user you will love it. For power users and people who are constantly connecting devices you may find it a pain.

I've always been a "windows" laptop kinda guy. After owning a Mac, it has changed my life. I love the MAC Operating System more than any other OS out there. If you are a designer, or need this for work, then this is the laptop for you. Its not a gaming laptop, its meant for proffesionalists. Pros: fast, retina, audio quality, slim, its a freaking apple product! Cons: only 2 usb ports, no touch screen (not required honestly), ram is still 8gb (yet again, fast), virus free OS Also, I love the big touch bar, makes it look different! And don't worry about the ports. I barely ever use a USB, everything is on cloud now days (its the future)!

So i was debating between the 2015 and 2016 model. Both was down $400 due to price match. 2015 $800 and 2016 $1,000. One had the ports and light apple logo that i love yet only 128GB drive. The later was newest model, slicker, space gray, slightly faster, 256GB drive but only 2 usb-c ports. So i ordered both thanks to BB's friendly return policy. I took the 2015 model that same day in the store and the other wouldnt be available until 1 week. Good enough for me i could try each for 7 days. Note - this was my first Macbook. But have been Iphone and Ipad owner for 5+ years. From the getgo i can tell i would never go back to PC. It booted so fast after initial software update. I downloaded Microsoft Office, photo edit apps and an internal temperature app because MacBook heating up concerned me. Also i downloaded steam along with some games. Some documents from OneDrive and i was set to go. However I had already taken up 80GB out of the 128GB in the Macbook. I wrote some papers, woked on excel sheets, edited pictures, played rocket league with a PS4 controller. I was really liking my new Macbook. I then downloaded some pics and my memory was over 100GB taken. And then when i started thinking that i would probably need the 2016 model with 256GB. The next day i went to pick up the 2016 MacBook Pro. I did software update, tranfered backup from the 2015 to this one and wallah super fast startup. I really loved the slickness of the 2016, smaller stature, thinner and .5lb reduction makes a huge difference when carrying around in your hand. When i saw the memory was still plenty i knew i was keeping the 2016. I ordered a usb-c to usb adapter for $10 and i was set. 2015 vs 2016 Like the ports of 2015 but would never use them I love the keyboard on the 2016. I type faster Love the size of the 2016 and slick clean look Battery wise i would say 2016 lasted more on my tests Bottom line-if you can spear a couple $100 extra get the 2016. Why i didnt go for 2017? It would have cost me an extra $500 to get 256GB so $1,000 for 2016 model and brand new was a steal.

Fits my needs perfectly. Lightweight, fast, and compact. Beautiful display and I love the butterfly keyboard. Only downside is the need for third-party adapters to connect devices to my MacBook

I purchased the Apple - MacBook Pro® - 13 Display - Intel Core i5 - 8 GB Memory - 256GB Flash Storage (late 2016 model) in Space Gray a couple of months ago and LOVE IT. I've ALWAYS been a diehard Apple/Mac fan because there is no comparison to their function, quality, and reliability, in my opinion; but this is much lighter and noticeably faster than my 2011 MacBook Pro. TERRIFIC improvement in the sound quality/max volume! Not so glad that the MagSafe connector was changed, however. Also, I was not aware I had to order a separate $10 adapter cable in order to connect the Lightning Bolt 3 to my old peripherals with USB, but it didn't take long to get it in when I ordered it. Honestly, I would have preferred a 15" MacBook Pro, like I had before, but for the price difference, I felt like it wasn't worth it to me...and although I was worried, I've found I'm OK with the smaller one. Overall, I'm so happy with this choice--and tickled that Best Buy happily price-matched a competitor's deal, so I received a $100 rebate within just a few days PLUS a slew of Bonus points, immediately earning me some Best Buy credits I could use toward the purchase of the adapter and a carrying case! I highly recommend this product!
