Customer Ratings & Reviews

I bought this MacBook Pro because I needed a powerful and reliable laptop for creative work, especially photo editing, music production, multitasking, and everyday productivity. So far, the performance has been excellent. The M5 Max chip feels extremely fast, apps open quickly, and I can work with multiple programs at the same time without feeling the computer slow down. The display is one of my favorite things about this laptop. It is sharp, bright, and great for editing photos and videos. The build quality also feels very premium, and the keyboard and trackpad are comfortable for long work sessions. I also appreciate having 2TB of storage because it gives me more room for large projects and media files. The only downside is that it is definitely an expensive machine, and the 16-inch size is not the lightest option if you need to carry it everywhere. But if you need serious performance, a beautiful screen, and a laptop that can handle professional creative work, this MacBook Pro is an excellent choice. I would definitely recommend it.

I just finally upgraded because I could not take having no more storage and running low on ram with my original M1 Pro 16gb/512gb. Running benchmarks puts me at nearly 2x-3x the power in both cpu and gpu from my previous machine, and I am so happy to have 2TB of storage that I have been able to finally replace my windows laptop with a VM in parallels so I only need my macbook now. I mostly do web/app development with occasionally doing game development, 3d cad modeling, video editing, car tuning with windows vm and also play some games when I am on the go or want to be on the couch. It simply handles everything and really makes it seem like I could just keep going and do everything at the same time, only thing I would be hesitant to do on this spec is run my own local LLM but I wasnt very much interested in that to begin with. Purchasing online, I was able to price match to apples education discount and pick it up locally, which saved me having to drive 2+ hours away to my closest apple store and I still qualified for an extra member bonus so all around I am super happy to support my local store where I used to work all those years ago! Also, silver is the color to get, space gray and black used to be my favorite but something about the classic silver just looks better these days!

The macbook pro is a perfect work laptop. While bigger and heavier than the macbook air, when doing heavy workloads the air does not have active cooling so heats up quick and throttles down reducing speed. The m5 max chip is a beast. This is the most powerful laptop ive ever owned, and with parallels and crossover you can still run any program thats not natively supported on mac.

The integration and sophistication of the Apple ecosystem is already amazing, but then you add an insane piece of hardware like this to the equation and it’s incomparable to any other product. Beautiful laptop with more power than you could ever want.

When I purchased this MacBook I questioned whether the high price was worth it but my goodness it is just lightning fast. Can run insane local LLM's on device and editing video on Final Cut Pro is insanely smooth. Faster than my desktop for sure. What a time to be alive. If you're on the fence... Go for it

This laptop has been absolutely amazing!! I can not think of anything critical to say about my experience. I thought I would have needed max ram for the work that I do but I was absolutely surprised at how it handled. This is peak Apple experience right here

Nice Mac. Amazing power. Big screen, amazing sound quality.

It’s been a few years since I bought my last Apple MacBook Pro and with the purchase of this MacBook Pro, I couldn’t be more pleased! The M5 Max Chip has exceeded my expectations. Additional improvements include the extended battery life and the 2tb solid state hard drive that will easily hold everything with room to back my system with TimeMachine. If you’ve been waiting for the right Apple MacBook Pro, now’s the time to make your upgrade.

Not as much ram to run local LLMs but blazing fast.

This laptop is everything I hoped for. Absolutely a must for everyone.

great product - was able to run Qwen3.8 8bit locally with 40TPS. Worth every penny

It’s a beautiful computer, lots of power for just about any level of work needed. It does get warm, keep an eye out for throttling. Benchmarks aren’t quite as good as advertised, but still very impressive. As always, Best buy customer service was great and worked with me on price matching!

I’ve been a longtime Mac user, but after upgrading from my M3 Pro 16-inch to the new M5 Max, I’m genuinely speechless. This machine doesn’t just perform, it makes everything else feel obsolete. The M5 Max chip (18-core CPU with those new super cores + 40-core GPU) is an absolute monster. I’m an Operations Architect and motion design and rendering 4K/8K timelines in Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve is now shockingly fast. Complex color grades, AI-powered upscaling, and even running multiple heavy effects layers happen in near real-time with zero lag. I’ve thrown local AI models at it for image generation and video enhancement, and the on-device Neural Engine handles it effortlessly, no cloud needed, no heat, and the fans barely whisper. Coming from older machines where I’d wait minutes for exports, this feels like cheating. Battery life is ridiculous. I regularly get 20–24 hours of mixed use (editing, browsing, Zoom calls, music) before even thinking about charging. On lighter days it easily pushes past 22 hours. For the first time, I can leave the house with this beast and not worry about finding an outlet all day. That efficiency combined with the power is pure magic. The Liquid Retina XDR display with the nano-texture glass option is breathtaking. Colors are vibrant, blacks are inky, and the 120Hz ProMotion makes everything feel buttery smooth. Working outdoors or near windows is finally glare-free and easy on the eyes — I actually notice less fatigue after long sessions. The six-speaker system is equally impressive; music and movie soundtracks have real depth and clarity that make built-in laptop audio on everything else sound tinny by comparison. Build quality is the usual Apple perfection — premium feel, fantastic keyboard (deep travel and satisfying without being loud), and all the ports I need (Thunderbolt 5, HDMI, SD card, MagSafe). Wi-Fi 7 is noticeably snappier too. It still looks sleek in Space Black, and it’s surprisingly portable for how powerful it is. Honestly, this is the first laptop where I feel like the hardware and software are perfectly in sync. It doesn’t just meet my pro needs — it exceeds them in ways I didn’t even know I wanted. If you’re a creative, developer, or power user who’s been waiting for a true no-compromise machine, stop waiting. The M5 Max MacBook Pro is worth every penny. 5 Stars - Easily the best laptop I’ve ever owned. Apple knocked it out of the park again.

The 16-inch MacBook Pro - Apple M5 Max chip with 18-core CPU and 32-core GPU - 36GB Memory - 2TB SSD - Silver is a powerful machine that just gets things done. Its speedy brain handles tough video projects, big photo edits, and lots of open apps without slowing down or getting loud and hot. The big, bright screen makes colors vivid and everything looks super clear, while the long battery life lets me work or watch movies all day without hunting for a plug. It’s surprisingly light for its size, feels really well made, and turns everyday tasks into something that feels like a brisk run rather than a grueling marathon.

I’ve own a Mac since December of 1984 and this by far is the best I’ve ever had. This 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 Max is an absolute beast. The combination of the 18-core CPU, 40-core GPU, 48GB of memory, and 2TB SSD makes it feel practically limitless. Everything is instant, apps launch immediately, large files open without hesitation, and multitasking is effortless even with dozens of tabs and demanding software running at once. For anyone doing creative work, data analysis, video editing, CAD/3D work, AI tools, or heavy multitasking, this machine just doesn’t flinch. It handles intensive workflows with ease while staying incredibly smooth and responsive. The display is stunning, bright, sharp, and beautiful with amazing color accuracy. Battery life is still impressive considering the amount of power packed inside, and Apple continues to nail the premium build quality. The Space Black finish also looks fantastic and gives it a sleek professional appearance. Yes, it’s expensive, but if you rely on your laptop daily and want something that can handle virtually anything today while staying relevant for years, this is an investment rather than a purchase. Apple absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one. Highly recommended.

Excellent machine. The 16-inch display gives you plenty of room to work, and the combination of the M5 Max, 48GB of memory, and 2TB of storage makes this a very capable setup for demanding workloads. Performance is fast and responsive, the build quality is what you would expect from a MacBook Pro, and the Space Black finish looks great. It’s a significant investment, but if you need a high-performance laptop you can rely on for years, this configuration delivers.

Love the look of the MacBook. Very sleek design and works great. The speed is crazy fast and it can handle a great deal of work on it’s battery life. I have no complaints with my MacBook.

Absolutely love the new 16” MacBook Pro! The display is stunning, performance is incredibly fast, and the build quality feels premium. Even with the larger screen, it’s sleek and easy to work with. Battery life has been excellent as well. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade—highly recommend!

The speed in this laptop is insane. I use my computers for 3D modeling and rendering. For Blender, the M5 Max is as fast as a 5070 Ti desktop GPU, which is honestly mind-blowing. CPU work like simulation is also very fast. I think Apple has finally destroyed the competition in the hardware department. This is great if you know your specific software works well on MacOS.

Replacing a 2018 i9 MBP and a 2019 MacPro. Battery life has been amazing. Performance is very snappy. MacOS 26 still has some hiccups but generally everything has been good. It is heavier than expected but I didn’t ding that on my rating. Keyboard, charge cable, and ports going back to the “old way” is a huge improvement.
