As i shopped for the perfect case and between the time Apple announced this keyboard, the release for this accessory couldn’t have come sooner. Granted this keyboard is overpriced but at the end of the day you get what you pay for, trackpad functions with the famous macbook keyboards, you could type on this all day without your fingers getting tired because the kickback is not as strong as a Full sized keyboard. The packaging and the user guides are bare, but this case and keyboard is packed with hidden content that will require you to dig deep and learn what this can do, iOs 13 has a ton of hidden features such as the ability to change keyboard shortcuts and the ability to change trackpad color, speed, animation and settings. Learning the trackpad gestures takes some getting used but you learn at the end of the day WHY they took out the ESC key, you don’t really need it. The biggest thing for me was learning the exclusive iOS Ipad keyboard shortcuts and for all here’s a guide that should help! https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211096 The keyboard feedback is trademark apple macbook, you can control the brightness via the settings or let it do it’s natural work, by default the backlight will turn off if left unused for a couple of minutes and will turn back on once you star using it, the trackpad can be used just as a macbook but with the iPad gestures. Honestly it should come natural if you know how to use the iPad swipe features. The case is heavy for all the right reasons, i’ve gotten used to it already, the iPad won’t fall off it’s magnet unless it’s done purposely, i’ve grown fond of the material(rubberized plastic) that covers the outside i.e the material that scratches easy, gets smeared or dirty easily, this is the kind of material that doesn’t damage the screen when closed up and i’m all up for it since it was my biggest worry. Another caveat a lot of people might not know, if you have Applecare +, this device is covered under it since it’s an official Apple product, should any problems arise just start a claim under your ipad and Apple will take care of it. My biggest fear is that Apple will keep churning out more magic keyboard with trackpad variants sooner, maybe even with touch id, heck i like this one, but for what’s it worth, this is sexier than any macbook since i use my ipads as entertainment hubs more than anything anyways plus once you add up the price of an ipad and this keyboard you already went over the price of an entry level macbook air so you got choices! The biggest advantage is the celular model of course and wifi6 on the new ipad pro 2020 PS After weeks of shopping around props to best buy, I was ready to buy this through Apple but they have a 3-4 week delay, Target doesn’t even have them in stock, Amazon hasn’t even released them, Best Buy is the only one that has them ready to ship, in this crazy hard times major props for delivering and over exceeding all expectations!!

Love it. Love the intuitive backlight on the keyboard, the scissor keys, the feel and extra usb c it gives you. Makes your iPad like a laptop. The mouse pad is awesome and you can do all the same things on it like a MacBook. It is heavy. Weighs as much as the iPad itself but it is great. I don’t like that you can’t have a case on the iPad for when you remove it from the keyboard like the previous model. I really liked that but it is still nice that it protects the entire iPad. Does pick up oils from your fingers though. So you have to wipe it or it starts looking dirty. Even though it costs as much as a cheap iPad (well more lol) it’s still worth it.

Magic Keyboard + iPad Pro, wow where do I begin...this accessory brought new ways to the iPad experience that I never could imagine. Firstly, the packaging it came in, as with all Apple Products you get attention to detail on the packaging, as well as when you crack into the box after pulling the handy pull tab that is on the corner. The only thing you’ll find in the box is some paperwork, plastic, and your keyboard itself, so don’t be looking around for any cables or anything. Once out you can connect the iPad to the magic keyboard, which is just a couple of strong magnets on the back of the Magic Keyboard and Integrated into the iPad itself, so it gives itself a secure grip once connected into place, so do not worry your iPad will not fall out of the case once its in, but if you wish to take it off do not worry either as with a nice tug your iPad will be set free for you can enjoy tablet mode once again. Unlike other keyboards, this one is a direct connection with the iPad itself, and of course since it is made by Apple you get the full intentions of what Apple wished the iPad to be, like a computer....well sort of. The keyboard does add a little bit of weight on the iPad itself, so be prepared for that, but I did not notice a drastic increase as I am used to using a MacBook Pro. The keyboard itself is backlit, so working at night is a breeze, and the actual keys itself are pretty clicky and super responsive. Also embedded in the keyboard is some shortcut keys, if you are used to MacOS they kind of follow to an extent in iPadOS. (Speaking of the keyboard, if you don’t wish to have the backlight on in the day time, simply go to settings-general-keyboard-hardware keyboard then simply change the brightness to your desired level.) The trackpad, however is a different, but very useful experience for the iPad. It brings a new light to it, and makes it really comparable to a modern laptop, or even a lower model MacBook. The trackpad is responsive as well, and allows you to click anywhere on the screen. Also on the keyboard itself, there is an additional USB-C port, which allows you to do pass through charging on the iPad to leave the main USB-C port on your iPad freed up for anything you wish to use it for. My only downside of the keyboard is that it doesn’t protect the sides of the iPad, so i suggest getting a tablet sleeve, or even a laptop sleeve that’ll fit it if you plan on carrying it around places that might ding the sides. Other than that, if you get Apple Care Plus for your iPad (which i highly recommend) it will also cover the Magic Keyboard that you buy for the length of your protection on your ipad! (Each subject to a 29 dollar service fee for the keyboard itself of course) Some people may think the price is too high for what it is, yes its a 350 dollar keyboard, but its more than a keyboard its an amazing accessory for your iPad especially if you use it on the daily. Plus with price being mentioned, you can always apply for the credit card that BestBuy offers, and if you get approved you can finance this keyboard interest free for either 12 months or 6 months which is amazing I think, I chose the 12 month financing! Anyway, I love this keyboard...and I think any other iPad Pro user will to!

The iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard provides a laptop-like experience that's unmatched by anything else in the market. Despite the Magic Keyboard being so far ahead of the competition, it does have its drawbacks that prevent it from being a perfect addition to the iPad. The keyboard - it does incredibly well in terms of functionality. The keyboard is top-notch and feels as it should; natural. The keys are spaced out properly and give you the same exact experience you'd have on Apple's other magic keyboards. The backlit keys automatically adjust their brightness, a feature I've come to love (I've never felt the need to go into settings to adjust them). A common criticism for the keyboard is the lack of function keys, which I'm sure is a disappointment to many. I will say, the iPad Pro makes it incredibly easy to adjust things like volume and screen brightness, if that is a concern to you at all. The trackpad - it also shines, as it has a lovely feel to it when you move your fingers across it. With strong gesture support that I'm sure will be improved exponentially over the next update, I have to say the trackpad is one of the most enjoyable aspects of the Magic Keyboard. If I do have any critiquing, it's that the trackpad feels somewhat small at times. Although I've adjust the trackpad speed, my finger still periodically slides to the top edge of the trackpad. A minor nuisance at best. Construction - my main issue with the Magic Keyboard lies here. The polyurethane material that is used here does have a nice feel to it, but easily attracts oil from fingers, as well as being prone to scratches or dents. It's also the same material found on Apple's Keyboard Folio which is disappointing, due to the fact that you're paying an incredibly high price for this product. The durability of this keyboard is highly questionable - especially if you're someone that plans to take this keyboard out often and in different conditions. Look at online reviews of Apple's Keyboard Folio after months or years of use to get an estimate of what your Magic Keyboard may look like over time. Additional Thoughts - The USB-C port on the Magic Keyboard provides another charging option which is great, but it cannot detect any hardware being plugged into it. Disappointing? Yes, especially at the $350 price point. But if you feel like the single port on the iPad Pro itself is enough for you, then this drawback will be a bit easier to accept. In terms of overall weight, the Magic Keyboard with iPad Pro attached can feel a little hefty. I personally don't mind it and I understand the need for the added weight. Lastly, the viewing angles are excellent. I've never felt the need to adjust it more than it's capable of. I love using this keyboard on a table, and it's pretty comfortable to use in my lap as well. You may experience a tip-over if you have the viewing angle at its max, or if you have the keyboard on your lap unevenly. Overall, I've found how to use it in various positions without it tipping over. In closing - the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro is what I and many other iPad users have been wanting since the release of the iPad Pro...or even the iPad itself. It gets a lot of things right and I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you decide to get it - the iPad experience takes a large leap here. The price can be hard to justify, especially if you feel like it should be a perfect product at the $350 price point. In that case, I would recommend using Apple or 3rd party keyboards/trackpads to get similar functionality. (photos attached have a black skin applied to the Magic Keyboard)

The only thing I would like to see is a function key row on the top of the key board. Because of our ‘new environment’ it has been getting a lot of use and it is really nice to use. One odd thing happened the other day, the backlit keyboard light wouldn’t come on, then suddenly it was working again. It has been working since. As you may have guessed I’m not a very good typist, I am a photographer and use the new iPad Pro for a lot of my work now, in place of the iMac and MacBookPro, what a difference. I can attach Ext. HDs and use the iPad as a Live Monitor while shooting in the studio or out on location and save files for reviewing later on the iPad for editing later in Photoshop etc. The Magic Keyboard makes all possible for many reasons not least being the floating screen, keyboard with touch pad, iPen, and iMouse 2, all in one neat unit. Wait. . . there is more! The iPad syncs with the iPhone for use as a remote and also you can down load the photos to send to the clients or any one while photographing in the field or back in the studio. The Magic Keyboard works great in so many ways besides typing as mentioned above. It may be expensive but for my work it’s a life saver. I’ve had to down size the last year as I’m not quite as strong as in years past as I will be 82 this month and lugging a lot of equipment...well you get it. With all in a smaller package and having the capabilities that the new tech. gives I could only dream of a few years ago. I've been waiting and researching for the best iPad Pro keyboard that I can use for work and this was the answer Here were my requirements: - Seamless integration with the iPad Pro and no connectivity issues. - Great typing experience. The original iPad Pro keyboard made by Apple had one of the worst typing experiences. - Well built and looks good with the iPad Pro. The only negative probably for most iPad Pro owners is the price. I was looking forward to using it and making it part of my workflow, but unfortunately, I had to return the product because I found out I had no more work to return to because of this Pandemic. If you still have work and you plan to use this as a keyboard, you will definitely love it and will make up for the cost of it through an improvement in your productivity.

After waiting years for a sale I nearly returned this when I purchased it at significant discount for Black Friday. Why return it? Because the case doesn't open all the way, can't be flipped into tablet mode, can't be used in portrait mode, can't be adjusted at all. The only thing that is movable is the tilt of the iPad. Why keep it? My $$$$ iPad has accidentally slipped or been knocked to the ground more than once after getting up from my seat. I had a different iPad case each of those times but they didn't make the iPad less likely to fall, just less likely to be damaged. This new case is hefty and stable, I've bumped to it a few times and it hasn't gone flying. What about the keyboard and touchpad? My other Apple case has a keyboard, this one improves on it slightly with backlit keys but can't replace a laptop or even a separate bluetooth keyboard for the simple fact it has no top row of buttons. No Esc, no volume, no play/pause, no brightness etc. The touchpad is responsive but sensitive to accidental clicks. I haven't used it much because it doesn't support 2-finger tap for right-click which has been my default for 10+ years. I've included a couple pictures to show the maximum and minimum tilt of the screen. The case itself does not open any further than what is shown.

This is the best keyboard on the market. I literally use this every day to type and use the trackpad on my iPad. It has literally transformed the way I use the iPad. Previously the iPad was a tablet that hold with my hand and rest on my lap or table. This keyboard dock makes it feel and function like a laptop. Previous versions of older iPad/keyboard combos was just a keyboard and had no trackpad. The trackpad changed everything. I rarely use the touchscreen of the iPad anymore and prefer the precision of the trackpad. The typing is the best with a real keyboard. Typing on an iPad was always a tedious affair with no tactile feel. The keyboard is great, it feels and looks like a regular MacBook keyboard with actual chiclet keys, not just a plastic membrane top. The backlight and power also adds to the premium laptop feel of the keyboard. Finally the additional USB C charging port on the left adds a location to charge where you most need it. The one issue with the port is that it is not thunderbolt compatible. It is not a data port at all, rather it is only useful for charging. Certain USB-C charging adapters like the one fro my Dell XPS laptop simply doesn’t’ work with the left port. I am not sure why. Overall this is a must have accessory for your iPad, if you don’t own one, i strongly suggest you get it!

I was really skeptical about purchasing the Magic Keyboard due to the hefty cost. However, the thought of having a keyboard and track pad combination for my iPad would be ideal when I'm editing videos or working with excel spreadsheets. I must say after using this product for about a week I am not disappointed. My MacBook Pro stays in my backpack mostly and now my iPad has become my primary device for work and my entertainment needs.

This is the perfect compliment to the iPad Pro. Easy to set up with magnetic mounting and easy to remove the iPad for use as a tablet with an Apple Pencil. Having a cursor makes a world of difference as well as the track pad for gestures. Even though I’ve only had it less than a month, I’ve used other keyboard products that were decent but, this is the best by far. I love it!

I love this keyboard. It makes my tablet operate just like a laptop. When I use my iPad for social media or shopping I do not use the keyboard, but when working I attach it. It’s very easy to attach and user friendly.

Makes using iPad more like a laptop, and because of the trackpad, a lot easier to go back and forth with a MacBook! A little too expensive at full price, but worth it when you can get it on sale. I combined it with a UAG - Scout Folio Case for iPad Pro 12.9" (4th Gen. 2020), that I modified slightly.

I love it! Makes the iPad really close to a computer. The keyboard feels great, trackpad does too - even if it is a little small. Gestures and keyboard shortcuts are easy to learn and are awesome to use.

I’ve had my IPad Pro 12.9 for close to 3 years and have absolutely loved it. I purchased the Smart Keyboard and loved it but it did not survive a home with 5 children lol. I wanted the Magic Keyboard but refused to pay the absurd price for it but jumped on it this weekend when I saw the discounted sales price and boy has it been a blast. From the floating position, to the backlit keys to the Mac likestructure of the keys to the trackpad. Totally worth it. Was thinking about purchasing a MacBook Pro but totally will not now. This is all I need and more. Loving it!

This keyboard case for iPad Pro completely converts your iPad into as close as a computer as possible, I find myself using the touchpad and keyboard more than the actual touch and it is the best experience on a mobile device like this one. Much improvement over the previous model which had no touchpad and the keyboard felt like tapping on wood. I can safely say all of these issues have been resolved with this

Turn your I Pad Pro 12.9 into a laptop. It works as a protector of the iPad as well, but I recommend getting Tomtoc bag for on the go.
