Get rid of the cable box and get the Apple TV. This works great with HD TVs (not 4k). The interface and the remote are awesome. You will need to purchase an HDMI cable separately.

This Apple TV HD replaces out decade old Roku box. We liked the Roku box for what it did all those years, but this last year, with Roku boxes we had, just had too many issues and both are dead. So when it came time to replace them, we looked hard at both the highest end Roku boxes, the Apple TV options, we even thought about just replacing the TV with a Smart TV that already had the apps we wanted. In short, we absolutely made the best decision with the Apple TV HD. We would have gone with the 4K model except that the TV this was attached to is 720p and won't be upgraded anytime soon. Because we are already in the Apple Ecosystem, this fit in quite well, and even made things like separating family member accounts, and who sees what, very seamless and handy. Its also great if you have Apple Fitness! Being able to see the workouts on a larger screen is a HUGE plus. Let's talk about searching apps. Roku's remote sucks. the Apple TV Remote with the Siri Button is beyond awesome. Just press the button, tell Siri what you are looking for, release the button, and Viola! Its like Magic! We will never go back to the single letter typing of the Roku. If that's not enough, if you have an iPhone or iPad, you can use those as remotes as well, with the same functionality as the Siri Remote. Very well thought out! And then there's Apple Homekit! We are just getting started with Homekit, but we see serious potential as we continue to build on it. Overall, I'd give this 7 out of 10 stars if I could since we ended up getting much more than expected out of it.

Hey, this is an Apple device, so you can pretty much bank on the fact that it is well built. The Apple TV is solid. It is easy to set up. You will need an Apple ID to set it up, which is free, if you do not already have one. It is a great addition to your home if you are already the owner of Apple products (iPhone, iPad, MacBook, etc.). This streamer has all of the major streaming apps plus Apple game apps, and you can mirror the screens of all Apple devices with very little setup. This unit comes with the updated Remote, which is a great improvement over the original Remote.

Easy to set up! Apps are easy to load. Remote works well. Use on WiFi or Ethernet. ( mine works better on Ethernet.)

This is my third Apple TV upgrading from the previous iteration of its 4K box. The older unit is now doing duty in our bedroom where it allows our rather dated Samsung TV to keep current with the newer streaming services. One of the things about both boxes is the slightly better picture quality they seem to bring to anything fed through them. But perhaps the nicest thing about the new box is a finally a decent remote control which BTW is also available as an after-market accessory that can be purchased for the older box as well. So for folks like me in the Apple universe, staying Apple just makes sense.

I over love the Apple TV box it’s awesome all the new features are so amazing it’s like having an iPad in the form of a TV being able to download any streaming app even being able to control by my AirPods the best purchase ever and worth every penny

I’m loving the ability to watch as my shows as I want all in the same place. The ease of downloading an app is amazing and having access to the various channels is great.

I love my apple TV i had other brands before but this one changed my life my family loves it too comfortable connected to all our devices easy to connect the remote control also is very sharp and fast works from every distance

Everyone kept talking about AppleTV and its a great investment. I was worried about my mom learning how to work it but its very easy. She loves it, which means I get a break from working her tv.

I love this thing! I used to have the 2nd generation for years & it would be very unreliable when connecting to the wifi. I spent way too much time trying to Google a solution for it that I finally decided to take the plunge & get this one. I’m so happy I did. I’ve had it for a few weeks now & haven’t had one issue with it. The picture is great, it’s fast, & you can download apps on it- something my 2nd gen never could do. I’d love to get a couple more of these for all the TVs in my house.

We have used this thing daily. It is always ready to stream our latest shows and live content. Have never had an issue with an Apple TV. Works flawlessly with the rest of our Apple ecosystem.

Apple tv is amazing! So much better than Roku and especially Fire tv. It doesnt freeze at all and is never slow or lagging. It is more expensive but worth it!
