Better warranty
Better coverage than the Verizon coverage. Lower deductible for lost or damaged phone.

Don't skip apple care!
I made the mistake of passing on the apple care with my last phone. I will not do that again! I spent much more than the cost of apple care when I had to get my screen repaired. The apple care is well worth the minimal cost - even for just peace of mind!

Added comfort for new iPhone
I have not needed to use this so far as have had no problems, thankfully! But it is a real comfort to have it just in case of an accident. I will cancel same when my phone is older and becomes less valuable, as I have in the past with previous iPhones.
