Easy install and setup and works great with my iPhone Air and Apple Watch Series 11. Walk right up to the door and it automatically unlocks. You also have the ability to share keys with other Apple users which is helpful for my kids. You can also utilize finger print and passcode. Has a rechargeable battery which is also a bonus as other locks I have used in the passed used regular AA batteries. Quality lock and highly recommend!

The Aqara U400 smart lock works flawlessly. Installation was easy, the UWB feature performs perfectly, and the build quality feels solid and premium. The only downside is the price, which is on the higher side.

We purchased this to replace our aging Nest x Yale lock (circa 2018). This is a huge upgrade compared to the previous. Few big wins: 1. UWB works flawlessly - no more fumbling to put a code in or trying to unlock from the car - just walk up and the door unlocks quickly 2. Zero dropped wifi connection in 4 weeks - we used to have at least 3-4 notifications from our Nest x Yale daily (which is likely more an age thing than a capability thing). 3. A physical key in addition to a code and fingerprint scanner... multiple options to get in, particularly when the battery (rechargeable - not double-A) . Biggest win was the integration with the Apple ecosystem. If you have an iPhone - it's extremely easy to setup in the Apple Home app although you will need the Aqara app too for some additional capability. All in all - really happy with this purchase and look forward to many years of ownership.

Ultra wide band is the differentiator on this smart lock. No other locks currently on the market offer the ease of simply being able to walk up to your door and have it unlock without you touching anything. Maybe a minor inconvenience for some, but this is clearly the future of all smart locks. Install is super easy as well, and the fact that it comes with a threads hub in this kit of the the icing on the cake. If you’re looking for the BEST lock available in 2026, this is it

The family loves this lock. The UWB technology is a game-changer; it opens as you approach the door. It offers multiple unlock options, including fingerprint, tap, and key. My only suggestion is that I wish it was made entirely of metal. For Android users, this lock should be compatible with Aliro when it launches, providing an Apple Homekey-like experience. Upgraded from the U100 to the U400 and it’s a night and day difference. The build quality is a noticeable step up, and the new rechargeable battery pack is a huge improvement over swapping out AAs. Because it uses Thread, it's significantly faster and more responsive than the U100. The Apple Home UWB feature is the best part: it auto-unlocks entirely hands-free as you walk up. Highly recommend!

This lock was easy to install and works perfectly. My family mainly use the fingerprint. I found out that we need to have an Apple network at home in order to share the homekey so others can exploit UWB. If you don’t, a more basic smart lock with fingerprint and keypad should be more than enough.

I bought this lock to replace a 10+ year old Schlage smart lock. It was easy to install and setup. I'm very happy with this smart lock and recommend it for anyone looking for an Apple Homekit compatible smart lock.

Having UWB is awesome. The door unlocks as a approach it. Granted, this only saves a few seconds vs using the fingerprint reader and/or typing in the code, but it is almost magical! Also, the lock mechanism is SO FAST! My old smart lock took 2-3 seconds to turn, this does it in about 1/2 second. Very cool

Love this new smart lock. With using my iPhone Air or Apple Watch Ultra, it automatically unlocks as I get close to it. I liked it more than my old Aqara lock that requires me to pull out my phone to unlock.

I have bought this for my new home. The installation was easy, and I love the smart features of Aqrar u400, and the compatibility of Matter.

Great work and connection for lock and everything with it

The lock was very easy to install and set up, and it also goes well with my blue door.

Works great as long as the door is closed correctly. Fingerprint sensor is a bit hit or miss. UWB works very well, so it unlocks as I get close to the door (only from the outside), so happy with the locks. HomeKit integration works very well.

Hands free unlock when connected to Apple Home. Set to auto lock on close and warns when door is not closed. We never wonder if the door is locked anymore. Just works.

Works great and easily with Apple HomeKit if you have an Apple TV or another hub. I don’t even need to touch it to unlock it. It’s amazing.

Installation of this lock did not work too well at first. How to factory reset it, by the way, if you ever have to do that, hold down both buttons at the same time for more than 10 seconds. Don’t listen to what it says until it says reset. Make sure you add it to HomeKit first, and then using Bluetooth, add it to the Acquara app (don’t add it via another matter code unless you use this hub)

High quality lock. Includes a hub. Integrates well into the Apple world.

Easy install. Rekeying took a bit of time but happy to have the option to not switch keys. It’s been working well but we don’t use the front door often. So far so good. Looks good and no issues. It’s a little loud and a bit jarring when locking back but it may be an indicate issue (just our door). Will update if we have any issues.
