Customer Ratings & Reviews

Easy install and setup and works great with my iPhone Air and Apple Watch Series 11. Walk right up to the door and it automatically unlocks. You also have the ability to share keys with other Apple users which is helpful for my kids. You can also utilize finger print and passcode. Has a rechargeable battery which is also a bonus as other locks I have used in the passed used regular AA batteries. Quality lock and highly recommend!

We purchased this to replace our aging Nest x Yale lock (circa 2018). This is a huge upgrade compared to the previous. Few big wins: 1. UWB works flawlessly - no more fumbling to put a code in or trying to unlock from the car - just walk up and the door unlocks quickly 2. Zero dropped wifi connection in 4 weeks - we used to have at least 3-4 notifications from our Nest x Yale daily (which is likely more an age thing than a capability thing). 3. A physical key in addition to a code and fingerprint scanner... multiple options to get in, particularly when the battery (rechargeable - not double-A) . Biggest win was the integration with the Apple ecosystem. If you have an iPhone - it's extremely easy to setup in the Apple Home app although you will need the Aqara app too for some additional capability. All in all - really happy with this purchase and look forward to many years of ownership.

So far the lock has meet all expectations. I've installed it in a Samsung smart things ecosystem. The only drawback I've encountered was the need to use the included thread border hub for maximum functionality. I had originally planned to use my tvs on board hub and not use the included m100 hub. According to all the documentation and AI assessment, I would loose the ability to perform firmware updates if I only used the tvs hub. Time will tell on battery longevity and product durability, so far its functioning perfectly.

Ultra wide band is the differentiator on this smart lock. No other locks currently on the market offer the ease of simply being able to walk up to your door and have it unlock without you touching anything. Maybe a minor inconvenience for some, but this is clearly the future of all smart locks. Install is super easy as well, and the fact that it comes with a threads hub in this kit of the the icing on the cake. If you’re looking for the BEST lock available in 2026, this is it

We have greatly enjoyed our lock and have had no issues so far. I bought this lock because of the UWB approach unlock feature and it has made all the difference. The finger, access code, and physical key unlocks work great as well.

This lock was easy to install and works perfectly. My family mainly use the fingerprint. I found out that we need to have an Apple network at home in order to share the homekey so others can exploit UWB. If you don’t, a more basic smart lock with fingerprint and keypad should be more than enough.

So far it has worked very well. Setup was easy and the UWB is fantastic. Very please with the purchase.

Overall excellent. Worked best when setting up from the app first then adding to HomeKit. UWB isn't flawless but works at least 90% of the time. Otherwise a watch tap or fingerprint does the trick. Best Buy version comes with a thread extender which I set up first and also seemed to be the way to go. Looking forward to changing the rest of the locks in the home to Aqara.

Been searching for a smart lock for our main entrance door. Looked at several but decided to go with the Aqara. Yes there are cheaper ones out there but I already had an Aqara on my entrance from the garage to into the house and have had really good experiences from it other than not always reading my fingerprint. Back to lock it's very easy to install (about 10 minutes). I use apple home to control my smart home and syncing was a breeze. Great thing about this lock it came with a hub which I really liked and syncing it was also a breeze. Great thing with the hub I can fully use all the features that I previously couldn't with the first lock I bought. I mainly use my Apple Watch to unlock my doors and it works flawlessly. I also like that it detects when I'm at the door and unlocks automatically. I have had no issues what so ever with this lock. It's not cheap but I'm glad I bought it. Love all the features with these locks.

I wanted a smart lock that could unlock with my Apple Watch and iPhone, and this one delivers thanks to UWB technology! It’s especially convenient when I’m walking up to the door with my hands full and can have it unlock automatically. I also love having multiple ways to unlock it, including a key, fingerprint, or code. Installation was easy, and connecting it to my devices was straightforward. I did run into a small snag during setup, but the YouTube video was really helpful and got me back on track. The lock is quick and responsive, both when unlocking and locking. Overall, I’m really happy with how easy, convenient, and versatile this lock is!

Great work and connection for lock and everything with it

Works great as long as the door is closed correctly. Fingerprint sensor is a bit hit or miss. UWB works very well, so it unlocks as I get close to the door (only from the outside), so happy with the locks. HomeKit integration works very well.

As soon as i walk to the door I don’t even have to stop, the UWB works flawlessly. I was so impressed that I bought another one for a back patio door days later. Both work flawlessly and don’t have to worry about forgetting to lock the doors.

The family loves this lock. The UWB technology is a game-changer; it opens as you approach the door. It offers multiple unlock options, including fingerprint, tap, and key. My only suggestion is that I wish it was made entirely of metal. For Android users, this lock should be compatible with Aliro when it launches, providing an Apple Homekey-like experience. I highly recommend this lock! You're welcome!

Upgraded from the U100 to the U400 and it’s a night and day difference. The build quality is a noticeable step up, and the new rechargeable battery pack is a huge improvement over swapping out AAs. Because it uses Thread, it's significantly faster and more responsive than the U100. The Apple Home UWB feature is the best part: it auto-unlocks entirely hands-free as you walk up. Highly recommend!

Having UWB is awesome. The door unlocks as a approach it. Granted, this only saves a few seconds vs using the fingerprint reader and/or typing in the code, but it is almost magical! Also, the lock mechanism is SO FAST! My old smart lock took 2-3 seconds to turn, this does it in about 1/2 second. Very cool

Love this lock. Fingerprint reader is instant. Battery lasts a long time. Buying a second one for the house.

I bought this lock to replace a 10+ year old Schlage smart lock. It was easy to install and setup. I'm very happy with this smart lock and recommend it for anyone looking for an Apple Homekit compatible smart lock.

The Aqara U400 smart lock works flawlessly. Installation was easy, the UWB feature performs perfectly, and the build quality feels solid and premium. The only downside is the price, which is on the higher side.

Love this new smart lock. With using my iPhone Air or Apple Watch Ultra, it automatically unlocks as I get close to it. I liked it more than my old Aqara lock that requires me to pull out my phone to unlock.
