Q: Can you connect a power cord for consistent power ?
A: We do with with Pro5s and Pro4 cameras, so almost certainly yes. HOWEVER, the battery stays charged at 100%, and since these are lithium ion batteries, charging them above 80% shortens their life. I suggest unplugging the other end of the cord and letting the battery run down to 20%, then plugging in to charge. You could build a Home Assistant or other automation for this, or simply set a smart plug to charge the battery for 1-2 hours a week. It is a real shame that Arlo doesn’t have a charge limit built in, considering at $50 each the batteries are very expensive relative to others (Dyson, iRobot). Of course, NOT having the feature makes them more money.

I love it
I bought the Arlo Pro 3 (6th Gen, 2025) set with 3 cameras and the dual charging station, and I’m absolutely thrilled! Setup was super simple — the cameras are wireless, connect quickly to Wi-Fi, and the 2K HDR image quality is impressive, even at night. I love being able to monitor everything from the app, get motion alerts, and even talk through the built-in microphone. Plus, the battery lasts a long time, and the dual charger keeps one always ready to go. Easy Security, Smart Features
The camera is a compact and wireless security camera system that’s super simple to set up anywhere, indoors or out. The video quality is sharp, night vision is in full color, and the app lets you check footage, talk through the camera, and set custom alerts right from your phone. Love the dual charging station for convenient battery swaps, but just keep in mind: cloud storage and a few advanced features require a subscription.
