I have spent years and thousands of dollars on the highest-rated/high-end headsets. From Turtle beach to Steelseries and beyond. Every single pair has broken, not because of abuse, but because of horrible build quality and cheap materials. I am ecstatic to say that the Astro A30s are an incredible headet. The audio quality, the comfort, the ease of updating and control through the app, the design, battery life, build quality and materials are all extremely fantastic and impressive. Well done Logitech! And thank you for finally making a 1st quality headset that won't break with normal use. Great design.

Sound is great, microphone could be better (you might have to bend it to where it’s not directly near your mouth), but the battery life, removal ear cushions and the fact that it can be connected to multiple devices is the real star here. Definitely recommend this product.

I absolutely love these headphones. I can get audio from 3 devices at the same time and they mix together beautifully. My personal use case is Bluetooth to my phone outside of the house, and when I come home I just turn on my pc with the USB dongle still on and it works. I can have music on my phone and still get audio from the computer. I can't speak of the durability yet as it was a recent purchase. The only downside is you can't wear it around your neck for long because it will make you very sweaty there. These headphones are so good my girlfriend went and bought a pair for herself after I did during black Friday sales. I wrote this review while using them.

They look good, and they’re comfortable, but that’s about everything that’s good about this headset. Definitely not worth the price. I have a pair of wired a40s from Xbox one, that just gave out after years, the bass range was very comparable, if not, better. The Bluetooth disconnects frequently and also the game audio will get very loud/quiet randomly. Every time I turn on my series x, I have to troubleshoot with this headset to get it to work, I’m talking multiple restarts and unplugging the Bluetooth dongle. The boom mic is unadjustable, so if your head is larger prepare for it to be up your nose. It does not pick up my voice unless I’m borderline yelling, friends in voice chat say that the internal mic sounds much better which makes no sense to me. Definitely disappointing because I swore by Astro before this purchase, these headphones are an actual disgrace.

Ive watched countless videos and googled all over the internet with my best efforts to try and figure this headset out, and nothing helped. This headset is so complex it’s unnecessary. The microphone attached to the headset doesnt pick up my voice unless I shove the mic into my dang throat. The design is gorgeous, I love the holographic tags, but this is a 2/10 for me. I will be sticking to the aurora collection headphones by logitech.

Unboxing experience was awesome. Comes with a hard-shell case which houses the headset along with a spot for the white USB-A to USB-C charging cord, white 4 pole 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm cord, USA A Wireless Dongle, and detachable microphone. You are able to connect to THREE audio sources at a time and adjust the volume on each for ideal mixing. These three sources are A. USB-A Wireless Transmitter, B. 3.5 mm Aux Cable, and C. Bluetooth. Which I like a lot and isn’t something you see often. But there are some issues with this. CONTROLS: The USB-A Wireless Transmitter has dual modes. A. PC and, B. Console. You switch modes by pressing the button the dongle. Which will turn White for PC and Green for Xbox. I tried to use this on the PS5 and while it registered it being connected, I got ZERO volume. Despite trying all volume options, I couldn’t get it to work. You can buy another dongle (whenever it releases) from Astro for $25. On the right earcup you have power on/off button. It jingles to notify you. Below that a Bluetooth pairing button. As Bluetooth automatically turns on when you turn on the headset and isn’t separate. Then you have a joystick. Up/down is volume up/down. Left/right is game/voice balance. Not available on PlayStation but works on PC and Xbox. Bluetooth control single press play/pause, double skip, triple skip back. Hold for smart assistant. Below that you have the USB-C charging port. When charging the light will blink white, when fully charged stay lit. On the left earcup you have a switch for mute/unmute. It also jingles. I like that it has some heft to it so you know it is engaged. Below that you have the port for the removable microphone. Then you have a 3.5mm aux cord port. Earcups can be removed easily (as they are magnetized). Also, can change out the outside speaker decals. Two microphones. One without the microphone and one with the microphone. Ironically not using the microphone gives you better overall sound. But also allows more room sound to come through. Microphone quality here is solid. But nothing amazing or mind blowing. Can change Profiles and Custom EQ via Astro App on cellphone. No dedicated PC app (such as Astro Command Center or Logitech G Hub). App shows battery (pressing opens the actual percentage) same with volume. But there is a star/dust background which constantly makes my screen seem REALLY dirty. I don’t like it. SOUND: I honestly really liked the sound on these. They have above average directional sound/imaging. Meaning when gaming I could tell where someone was located (left, right, front, back) but not with exact precision. Also, had a hard time with how close/far they were. I’m easily able to differentiate between different sounds when a lot is going on. Depending on the game footsteps were noticeable. Highs are very crisp and can almost come across as shouty/harsh. Mids may be a bit recessed. Making voices sound a bit artificial (but not like horribly so). Lows are also above average. Making explosions/gunshots sound really good. Overall mixing was “balanced” where I could easily hear everything including nuance sounds but are slightly treble focused which is better for gaming. Did above average for single player, multiple gaming, media watching, and music. Making them very versatile. While they aren’t the best sounding headset I’ve tried it is definitely one of the better ones and if I didn’t have a stupid amount of headsets (most being more expensive) I’d rate them higher. But with the other issues I have it makes it harder for me to recommend them for the price. BUILD QUALITY: It feels like an Astro Headset. Which means it can come across as a bit cheap but is likely better put together than you may think. It is almost exclusively plastic. I didn’t notice really any creaking. Joints are stiff (which is good) and hold their place well. Feels relatively light and is comfortable to wear for long periods. Had multiple 8 – 12 hour times with them without any issues regarding comfort. COMFORT: This headset looks super comfortable. But it’s not the most comfortable headset I’ve tried. It’s not bad by any means. But the clamping force is on the tight side. This is a positive to me as it creates a nice seal and with these being what I’m classifying as a hybrid open/closed back headset (which most Astros are) it will limit a lot of the room noise automatically due to the driver along with the soft leather like earcups. This makes my ears sweat (which usually isn’t an issue) that may bothersome. The earcups themselves are large both size and depth wise, that they should fit almost any ears comfortably. But the memory foam while being very nice and soft isn’t as malleable as some others which again is a positive and negative. As it can come across a bit stiff which can be uncomfortable while also holding its shape and getting more comfortable the longer you wear them. The actual adjustability isn’t bad either. Seeing as you can adjust up/down but there isn’t a whole lot of movement anteriorly but can lay flat posteriorly. Which makes them easy to put around your neck easily. I was also able to just wear it with one earcup easily in case I want to hear what is around me. The top headband may be an issue for some. I do struggle with this personally on some headsets. This is not one of them. But the area is small, with little padding, and is mostly filled with air. But due to the clamping force that pressure is mostly on my ears over the top of my head which is good as I think if I had more pressure on the top of my head it would cause it to hurt. ISSUES: The joystick is going to be hit or miss for people. I like that it simplifies the process. Up/down changes volume, but the negative part of this is it isn’t as precise as an actual wheel. Left/right allows you to adjust game/chat volume (assuming you’re on Xbox and have it setup correctly on PC). Which I used a lot while playing COD MWII with friends on Discord. As Game volume is intense on that game. Next, if you have a Bluetooth device connected it also allows you to press it for play/pause, double press to go forward, and triple press to go backward. Otherwise, you control that volume mix on that Bluetooth device itself. Sounds complicated? It kinda is. And may be an issue depending on how simple you want things to be. Which brings me to the next issue that I ran into which is difficulty getting the correct volume. As there are too many volume sliders. My typical setup was USB Wireless transmitter to PC. On my PC I have it set to ASTRO A30 GAME for my default sound and ASTRO A30 VOICE for default communication device. Which gives me the ability to have game/chat balance. In Windows you can also have something (say Chrome) be played through the secondary ‘voice’ channel meaning even when gaming by yourself you can adjust game/video volume or whatever. Which means that I have two, technically three sounds here. One being my PC sound, then my headset sound, then the balance between them. It’s probably easiest to put the headset volume at 100% and then adjust on PC as that gives you more finite control. But then alerts (such as powering on/off the headset) are super loud. I was also concerned about battery, but it seemed fine. It auto turns on Bluetooth which means if that’s also connected you have a third sound volume there which again is controlled through the phone/Bluetooth device itself. Which means if one thing is louder than the rest you must sit and pause and go, is this coming from my PC, my voice/chat balance, or my phone? Additionally, sometimes the Bluetooth will automatically adjust the overall headset sound. Making it so everything is quiet and then if you turn up or down the volume it will go back to what it was previously. Due to the huge variability here, it can be quite jarring when this happens. Which was regularly for me. Which brings us to the next problem. The Astro App needs some work. Mainly with just working. As often it wouldn’t even register that my device was connected, even though it was in the Bluetooth settings, which is what it tells you to check to ensure connection. When it was finally connected sometimes when you went to switch the EQ presets (comes with two stock, Astro Immersion and Astro Footsteps) along with ability to create your own EQ. Which honestly, doesn’t seem to be working and is limited to a 5 band EQ. Ends up it was working… which then made the Immersion and Footsteps preset not work as it permanently over rid them. You can also adjust voice/chat volume and headset volume through this which is nice. Along with checking overall battery level in a percentage. So, while there is a lot of value here there are three things that I think are frustrating but also beneficial depending on how you choose to use this headset. 1. Most people won’t want to connect to Bluetooth meaning learning how to use the headset and adjust settings won’t happen. Making most people give up. As there are no instructions in the box. Also, concerned about possible firmware updates. 2. If gaming on PC having a dedicated PC app (such as Astro Command Center or Logitech G Hub) would be better and easier to navigate. But this headset isn’t seen in either of them. 3. The only positive, if you primarily game on Console this allows you to not have to use a PC to adjust settings and allows you access to custom EQ’s. Which is nearly unheard of in the current space. Which I can totally respect and give some serious props to. CONCLUSION: There is fierce competition in this price point and while I think this is one of the best headsets on the market currently, you can get better for slightly more money or trade some features and save some cash. So, it's really up to you.

If you want that quality and bang for your buck this is it. Loving the white and removable features for the caps and cushions. I purchased these for my son and myself so 2 pairs and we love them. I’m trying to match my peripherals. Will be getting custom ear caps soon.

Excellent headphones that make gaming fun. Three audio channels allow you to listen to music, voice chat on discord, and still be able to hear the action of the game.

First time owning a Astro Headset and upon receiving them, they came in attractive packaging, easy to open and take out of the box sleeve. The headset is very stylish, clean white color look to them. The removeable ear cups are a plus for any cleaning that you may have to do as months go by of using them. Upon wearing them and trying them out, they are extremely comfortable, after wearing them for several hours the past few days, I have felt no discomfort after taking them off and the sound quality is really amazing from playing games to listening to music and even watching a few movies with them. The only small drawback I have and its like this with Windows 10/11 mainly is sometimes when starting my PC up the next morning, sometimes it doesn't recognize the headset, but I have this problem with other PC's running Win10/11 doing the same thing with other connected USB/Bluetooth devices so take that in mind and not Astro/Logitech's fault. Also, having these connected simultaneously to my PC via the USB dongle and then having them also bluetoothed to my phone, its really a treat considering if im playing a game and I don't hear my phone ring, I will hear it through the headset and even have a conversation on the headset while still hearing the audio on the headset from my PC also. The battery life really hits the nail on the head, I have used these going for 3 days now and about 6-8 hours each day and they have still a charge to them which in the description, it shows these having 27+ hours of battery life and I will agree with that. Overall, I am impressed with the presentation of the packaging, the headset, the comfort, audio, the customization and the features and I would definitely recommend this headset

I received the Astro Gaming A30 Wireless Dolby Atmos Gaming Headset for Xbox, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC, Android with Detachable Boom Mic. I find it to be very sleek, lightweight, stylish and comfortable, haven't had any problems or discomfort using for hours at a time. The Astro A30 has swivel mounted earcups so that the headset can lay flat or when stowed away in the included hard carrying case. On the left earcup is a switch for muting the microphone as well as ports for a 3.5mm cable and the detachable microphone, on the right earcup are the power button and status light, Bluetooth button, and a four-way control stick, pushing up or down will change the volume while left or right will change the game/chat balance. The plates on each side of the headset can be replaced to customize to your preferences. The speakers used are 40mm dynamic drivers that provide good sound and clarity. An on-ear joystick control enables you to mute, mix, adjust volume, play, pause and more. The boom mic you have plug and unplug, you can't swivel the mic to mute it, you have to feel for the button when you want to mute it, which can be a little distracting when your gaming. In addition to the detachable boom mic and swappable speaker tags, the ear cushions are also magnetic and can be easily removed and replaced. The battery is pretty good, a single charge provides more than 27 hours of battery life, which is great! Another good feature is the headset will turn off once no movement has been detected after 30 minutes to help save battery usage. Overall this is a great headset with multiple uses not just for gaming.

First impression: The A30 looks cash money, impressive look and the packaging was slick. Usage: Using the bluetooth move on mac book/mobile just worked. On PC the wireless dongle also was easy enough to setup that our nine year old gamer was able to figure it out with little effort. His main impressions was that this was an extremely comfortable headset and it blocked almost all outside sound. The bluetooth signal is STRONG. Strong enough to stay connected to the downstairs laptop and only dropped out at the opposite end of house on another floor. Volume is adjustable on the headset itself via the rocker and gets as loud as you can want. Another impressive feature we found is the battery life. A single charge will easily last days and it recharges fast via usb-c. The sound quality is great. Especially with being able to adjust the EQ and levels. You can control the EQ, boom mic noise gate, and whether or not you can hear yourself via mic with the Logitech G app. And you can setup profiles for each configuration of settings so you can easily switch from gamer mode to home theatre mode if you want. The only small complaint I found was the lack of live eq adjustment. I guess the app needs to upload a profile to the headset after each configuration save and that's why it's not already possible. It was also a little touchy on trying to adjust eq. Another little bonus we discovered is that the foam pads are magnetic and can come off easily for some good cleaning if need.

I have a bit of an obsession with headphones and earbuds, gaming headsets included in that obsession. My 3 sons that are gamers don’t help in this vice, so we go through quite a bit of headsets in my home. The Astro A30s give me mixed feelings. It does many things well, but there is something that leave me scratching my head. First, sound quality is great, the little joystick toggle on the right earcup allows you to adjust volume and change the focus to game or voices. That toggle is nice to have in the middle of a game where you want to make and adjustment but don’t want to take your eyes away from the game. I have to say that I have primarily used this on a gaming PC and a few times on our Xbox. Both types of gaming left me very satisfied with the sound and it was easy to connect to both. You also get an AUX cable in the box so that you can use that to connect to different devices. You also can connect using Bluetooth if you want to use these to game on your phone or tablet. Setup was straightforward, but I found it unusual that there was not software to download on the PC. Normally, in my experience with other gaming headsets you download software to allow you to update firmware and adjust settings. The software allows you to tweak EQs, spatial audio, surround sound settings, etc. No such software currently available. Instead, you download the app on your phone and make your adjustments there once you pair the headset to your phone using Bluetooth. You are allowed to change sound settings and profiles on within the phone app. Not quite the same granular adjustments I’ve seen in other headsets, but good. The last bit that is worth noting here is that the headset is very comfortable, and I have no problem using these for long gaming sessions. The new WoW expansion is about to drop, and I can confidently say that these will give me no ear fatigue for some upcoming long gaming session. The headphones have a nice aesthetic, but they don’t offer any RGB to customize it to your liking. So, great sound, easy setup, and great comfort. Sounds like they knocked it out of the park. I guess my hesitation is that I am accustomed to getting a little finer tuning in the software packages that most of the gaming headsets I’ve used over the last couple of years. You get some of that in the phone app for sure. I think maybe these would be perfect for those just looking for an amazing plug-and-play type of headset. Something they can begin using right away that will sound great, offer fantastic detail and clarity, without requiring all the adjustments. For those people, these are great, but if you are the type that likes to really dial in your sound in settings, be wary. They sound great and they are worth your time and money, just know that minor issue in software before you take the plunge.
