This is overall a great headset. Let me get into specifics for you. It is one of the top headsets and all pro cod players use it. The price between the mic amp version and non-mix amp version is totally worth it. I had both and the amount of control and customization features on the mix amp is insane. Not just is the sound great, it has a great feel on your head, grey cushions and has options for other cushions. Honestly I gave it a 5 star because it’s been 2 weeks and I have no complaints or anything I’d change about it. Also since I stream I can say that streamers, this is a great headset and honestly can change the way you play. Now some people may over hype it but until you own it and actually experience it you can’t say anything. Huge streamers like NickMercs and Swagg also use this headset and it’s the most used headset by professional e-sports players. I hope my review convinced you enough to but it even though in no way do I get anything out of this except satisfaction that I hopefully help someone make the right decision.

This is a great headset. It has a ton of options for audio quality and allows you to fine tune it in the Astro app. Uses a USB port to work on Xbox series x also supports optical. Headset is light and comfortable. The mixamp is very useful and nicely built. Some issues are that the firmware has to be updated on pc and should be able to be updated while connected to the console. Firmware required even on ONe X it was frustrating to learn that because it didn’t work out of the box. Also I use keyboard and mouse on the Xbox and prefer to have controller wired to console but it only has 3 USB ports more of an Xbox issue but still something to consider if you have usb Hdds or something similar. Also doesn’t come with stand like the original a50s. Overall the audio is great and mixamp makes it easy to change on the fly.

Best audio I ever had in headset. Yeah maybe not as cool looking as some off the shelves or as comfortable. But if you get the A40 (not A50) I don’t care for wireless, And also purchase a mod kit for them, which increases sound proof durability. It is all worth the purchase trust me. Plus the mod kit changes the feel for the entire headset if you ask me. I’ve owned turtle beaches, (new and old) I literally owned every steel series headset out. Way more comfortable. BUT the audio is not there. In hand tried razors, and also tried hyperx. None of which can compete with the Astro A40 I have had. My picture I have own those 3 years. Yes the plastic gets old and starts to peel but they stay durable on my head and I just swapped out my mod kit for a new one for $70 and to me which was like purchasing a whole new headset for $70. Almost like a remodel on the whole headphones for half the price. Made them fresh again. Ok everything I said was true but I just went that hard because hopefully they see the effort and I win that $400 gift card for leaving a review thanks.

I love these Astro A40 the sound and easy of adjustments for fit are awesome. I have had A40 for many years. You can purchase replacement parts online. I game almost everyday for about 2 -4 hours. Destiny and MWIII with family and friends. I have had no issues with any sounds in game or chat.

They are extremely comfortable and great sound quality! Lots of customization with the equalizers. And adaptable to every gaming situation!

I love this headset. The comfort and ease of use is great and this headset makes hearing footsteps so much easier. The mic and be placed on either side and it's very customizable with headphone panels and the band.

The audio is great, the comfort is by far my favorite in a headset. do not skip out on the mixer it makes the experience richer. i also used the blue mic attachment

I’ve used Razer Krakens for most of my gaming career but I made the swap to this headset when I moved and man… it’s beautiful. Sounds are very clear, comes with a mix amp to help focus more game sounds or if you’re talking to people, their voice. Super easy to use, great feedback on your own voice, doesn’t lag so you’re not fumbling your speech

Pricey, but if you are wanting to be able to control your sound between game and chat easily this is the only way. Headphones are typical Astro. Clear, full and adjustable in their mixer settings. You can also use any other headset with the mix amp which is also nice. If you like to game and have full control over your sound whether your a streamer or not these are a great investment.

Great headphones.. if only the series X had optical out .. or I could find a extractor that. Would let me run 1440p 120hz with or without vr .. I have owned many set of headphones .. now my elite 2 headphones sound better . But these are comfortable good sound and mixer control is nice . Only cons they have no bass , they have to be unplugged and plugged back in here and there to work .. all in all love them not my favorite or the best I have used , now adding the mod kit helps a ton and is a must buy if you get these . I would only buy these if you have the money .. the steel series 7x and 9 sound just as good if not better .. I think once I get them hooked up to optical they will be really good .. but for now I would go with elite 2 , 7x , then these ..

This headset is the most comfortable headset I have ever owned. I have owned Astro headsets for nearly 5 years and keep coming back. I had attempted to buy cheaper headset by steel series and hyperx and ended up returning both of those products due to them being so inferior. This Headset is just perfect.

These headphones feel premium and are a great upgrade from my Astro A10s. These headphones allowed for use of the Dolby Atmos app. After searching up manual audio settings online I can hear mostly everything. The mix-amp allows for awesome physical fine tuning to your audio. They also have led lights that will display where your dial is, they also act as indicator if your headset is on mute or not. This set fits nicely to any gaming set-up that has other accent lighting and will instantly earn style points.

Love Astro been using them since they first hit the market, sadly the software for these is no longer valid and upgrade firmware to use directly with console

If you don’t own a pair and highly recommend them. I’ve had the Astro a 50s and they are great but I forget to charge them. This is the same quality just wired. Astros are the best!

Love these headphones for gaming they sound amazing & you can hear ever footstep!. I use them on my pc for gaming & I couldn’t ask for better sound. The mic also sounds amazing for headphone mic. I recommend highly 10/10

Outstanding headset although setup is fairly annoying. Word of advice, run the optical audio out from your television or monitor into the mixamp as your audio source. Otherwise, your sound will be garbage as modern headsets now encode their audio via USB which sounds awful. Running your audio source as I've mentioned will give you the sound you remember from Xbox 360 with these cans but on your Xbox one
