The most comfortable headset for gaming. It's like 2 pillows with amazing sound quality. Loved them! I got the PC version, it's compatible with Xbox and Ps4 too and mobile devices!

After reading reviews and hearing positive remarks from friends and coworkers, I was led to the Astro A40 Gaming headset. Initially, a $150 price point seemed like a demanding price for a gaming headset but after having them for a while, the price is a joke for the quality of sound and design you are delivered. Surround sound on games are delivered perfectly and clear with no crackles or skips with perfect adaptive sound with no sound calibration software needed or used. The headset works both on PS4 as well as PC with a 2-way splitter included in the box which was a very nice touch by Astro. Overall, the Astro A40 is a fantastic gaming headset for $150. Would definitely recommend to others.

I read some reviews before purchasing these and I was impressed. I received them on Febuary 17, 2016. I have already tried them out on PC and PS4. These don't say that they work with PS4 but they do. I will have a picture of the connector that works with the PS4 controller

These are great headphones but I would not recommend them for the PS4. That is only because they are wired and will only get chat in Mono for party chat. I would highly recommend them for PC gaming though as the sound and comfort are top notch.

I play PC games where hearing your opponent's every move is crucial to your survival. These ARs have amazing sound quality - picking up every detail. I have had several different types of headsets and this one is by far, the most comfortable. I was worried about the cloth ear cushions attracting every little piece of lint, but they remain clean. I have noticed they seem to become more flexible with use. This is not a bad quality so far. I'll update my review if it becomes one. I highly recommend this headset. You'll save money in the long-run...because of their comfort, quality and construction you won't be needing another pair for a while.

I purchased the A50's (the big brother to these) a while back to use with my computer. Sound comfort and fit all worked very well for me, and left me happy with the quality of the Astro's. The headphones however died frequently enough, that I felt like I was plugging them in, and unplugging them constantly. I purchased the a40s with the mix amp, and have had a very similar experience with my satisfaction. These are everything that's great about the a50's, but wired.

For sure worth your money. Quality surround sound and quality audio. The bass is very good too. Plugs into iPhone, Android, XBOX One and PS4 controls, along with PC and 3DS.

I went through about 10 different headsets trying to find the ones that suited me best for my long gaming sessions. Nothing was as comfortable or as clear as these. Love em!

Very nice headphones for gaming and music. Very comfortable over-ear design. Requires mix-amp for surround sound. Buy the bundled set and save a little money.

I was previously using a wireless gaming headset, so I do miss the ability to get up and grab something from the fridge without having to take the headset off. But I can't really take any stars off for that. Sound quality is decent, I'd prefer a little deeper/better bass quality. Using the MixAmp does improve some over direct to the PC, and it's really nice to be able to balance between game and voice. I noticed little to no difference between using the optical output over the USB connection. I also have not yet used this with my PS4. A big selling point for me was the ability to purchase replacement parts: ear cups, replacement boom mic, custom tags. I retired my least pair due to the pleather on the war ups beginning to flake off (different brand)

The headset is very comfortable. The sound quality is okay along with the mic. Without getting the mixamp pro, you will not be able to change the chat volume from the game volume without going into the game itself.

This headset is super comfortable, lightweight and the sound quality is great. even better with the 'Mod Kit' to make them nearly noise cancelling. I have the M80 MixAmp for XB1 and the sound is better than my turtle beach headset. I will certainly buy another pair in a few years if any significant updates are made.

These have got to be the best headsets on the market.. I know they are a little pricey but it's totally worth it.

A few years ago turtle beach held us hostage. Cheap plastic parts and thin wires. The king came and conquered. Metal contradiction heavier gauge wires and built to last. Super comfortable and looks like a work of art. Custom plates and accessories are available as well as Replacements parts. Will work on PC/ PS4 iPhone , IPad as a stereo headset you can answer calls and mute as well. Add the Mixamp pro and get 7.1 surround sound. The mix amp pro gives you the ability to hook to PC and twitch stream your audio from the game and the PC and voice chat and any streaming music in the background. However it's a $249 for that bundle with the mix amp pro.

Headset is SUPER comfortable on the ears (even with glasses on), and my friends say I sound like I'm sitting right next to them. Only issue that may turn some off is the price point of these. I got them on sale ($80), but at regularly $150 that's a bit much for a wired headset.

Very comfortable to wear and easy to set up. I had bought headphones in the past and was very disappointed with the brands. I had a Panasonic Gamecon set that was great until I upgraded to Windows 10. The company didn't update their drivers and software for Windows 10 and made the headphones buggy. I then purchased a Razer Kraken Pro thinking it would be an amazing product. Those fit way too tight and the microphone was semi useless on Voip services for gaming. Sounds came in static. So after doing more research and getting to demo these in the store I settled on the Astro A40. They sound great for not being surround sound. The microphone works with all the gaming chat programs I have. The only drawback is that its not surround sound other than that they have been awesome.
