This is a great started laptop. It doesn't have much memory or hard drive space but it does what I need it to do like surf the net, get on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and read PDF's for crochet patterns. The ONLY reason I gave this computer 4 stars is that on the 2nd day I had it, the up arrow key flew off when I was at a hotel and I was never able to find it. So I'm without an up arrow key. I bought the extended warranty so I will eventually get it replaced, just don't feel like dealing with the hassle when that's the only thing wrong with it. Also, wanted to mention that I bought 3 of these. I bought 2 at first when they were on sale for $159.99. When I went back to buy another one 3 days later, the price was up to $199.99 and they would not honor the first price. I waited around 3 weeks and saw the price drop and purchased the 3rd one.

This laptop/notebook handles all the daily basic tasks I throw at it. Emails, streaming (video/music), web browsing, etc. Been using it on 10S Mode and it's not terrible other than browsing off of Microsoft Edge instead of upgrading to 10 and downloading Google Chrome. Battery life is pretty impressive around 5-6hrs, screen and brightness are good, also lots of ports. It's an all plastic build but if you're on a budget this is a steal!

Very slow computer even on the Internet. I had a very low budget and it’s performance should be as well as a higher priced computer.

As the title says this laptop is great when used in the right (intended) way. I needed a laptop for work to do basic Microsoft excel and use google chrome. I really needed something small (portable) with good battery life. Something I could pull out of my Milwaukee tool backpack, make an excel file and send it off. This machine checks all of those boxes. I’ve yet to have any slowdowns in excel or in chrome, even when working on a server. The battery life is great too, I used it speraticly over a 10+ hour day and still had battery left over. The size is perfect as well, I am able to have tools in one hand and easily move the laptop with other hand. It doesn’t get in the way while on the test bench and isn’t even inconvenient to hold when I can’t put it down somewhere because it’s so light. At the price this laptop is not really meant to be your only machine. If you need to do any kind of gaming, editing or design this one is not for you. This is really for people who need something on par with a tablet but also need windows. That is exactly what I needed. We honestly liked it at the office so much that we ordered a second one the day mine came in. You can’t beat this deal for the price.

I needed a small laptop to bring to college classes, as lugging around a 17" HP from 2014 was not really practical. This little guy did the job. Good for note taking, typing papers, and internet stuff. Battery would last a whole school day for the most part. Not a lot of storage space, but that's fine for mostly internet-based note taking anyways. The only issue I ever had was trying to run more complicated Excel functions, this would get a bit bogged down. But, it is what it is.

So let’s remeber this is not expensive so you can’t have unrealistic excectations here. It’s fast CONSIDERING the price and what it’s designed for daily small tasks easy. Mine was a bit slow during initial setup with updates and reboots be patient once that’s all done it’s awesome honestly what stands out the most is the speakers I’m actually blown away if they were front facing they would be the best I’ve ever heard on laptops and I had beats with hp before. The screen in the only real drawback I don’t see people talking about it in reviews it’s pretty trash viewing angles are worst maybe ever seen and it’s dull and yellow hue the white are alarmost orange and the brightness is just mehhhh butttt remeber this thing is so inexpensive you have to flex somewhere for me this is a huge win because it’s fast enough easy light slim the sound is phenomenal and it hasn’t plenty of connections and ports plus the ability easily stitch to full windows 10 really helps overall asus killed it here I love mine and most will to if you don’t expect lightening speed and can del with a bad screen it’s worth the money hope this helps some people decide :)

You're not going to do anything that requires a ton of power on this thing, but the truth is that few of us require a lot of power to get our work done these days. As a consumption device, it gets the job done. Video streaming works great in every service I've tried, and if the screen isn't good enough, you have HDMI out. As a creation/productivity device: Writers should love this thing. The battery lasts forever, and the keyboard is not so cramped to become a problem. The computer is also very lightweight. Photo/video creatives should use this only for file management and transferring in the field, but it's actually very useful in that role. It's snappy. I like it.

I own a PC repair shop as well as a video production business. I use very powerful computers for most of my work, but I see many advantages in keeping a cheap tiny laptop around to take with me anywhere I go. I upgraded to this from a one-year-old Dell Inspiron 11 with a Celeron N3050, a similar machine with a much bolder color and nearly identical specs. A lot has changed in one year! This laptop has a Celeron N4000 which is a true game-changer in the world of cheap laptops: its single-thread speed is more than double that of the Celeron N3050 from the Dell and its total speed is nearly double, plus it's faster at single-thread processing than the Core i3-3217U in my beloved Asus Vivobook X202E. The built-in GPU should not be underestimated; it won't play the most greedy games of today, but it's got a lot of 3D processing power behind it. This laptop can run Adobe Premiere and can be used to edit 4K 100Mbps 8-bit footage at a 1/8 resolution preview, so a Premiere proxy editing workflow is very doable. It has more USB ports than the Dell Inspiron 11, all 3.0/3.1, with one as the new Type-C connector. Having Wireless-AC in this package is simply amazing. The design is classic Asus: the touchpad is great, the keyboard is a flat Mac-style one that takes a second to get used to but is wonderful and quick once you adjust to it, and the thing just plain looks good. You can drive a 4K TV and the GPU can hardware-decode H.265 HEVC 4K video too! It's obviously no Ryzen 5 or Core i5/i7, but this little budget beast should not be underestimated. Two last tips: buy a 128GB V30-rated microSD card for extra storage since it only has 32GB and if you're handy in an admin command prompt, run "compact /compactos:always" to compress the OS and cd into Program Files and Program Files (x86) and ProgramData and run "compact /c /s /i /f /exe:lzx *" to compress all your program files; this takes full advantage of the fast CPU to further accelerate the 30 MB/sec maximum you get out of he eMMC SSD and frees up a lot of the otherwise insufficient storage. This makes a much bigger difference than you'd think. You're welcome!

I bought this strictly for working remotely. I didn't need a powerhouse, I just wanted something lightweight, small, but still big enough for a reasonable keyboard, with a decent screen, and a price to match these low demands. I actually think I ended up getting a far better deal with this machine than I ever expected. You don't get a lot in the box. It's one of the most barebones computers I've ever bought. It's basically a laptop, an AC adapter, and maybe a piece of paper. But I imagine that this is how they manage to be more cost-effective. The computer itself is light. The form factor is nice. The keyboard is reasonably good for typing on. It's dead silent, because there are no fans or hard drives. The battery lasts an amazingly long time; I can get a good eight hours or more out of it when working. There's a good amount of USB ports, and the HDMI port is handy for using a second or external screen. The screen is... okay. It's what you get from a cheap notebook. It's better than some of the ones out there, though. The viewing angle is certainly not great, but it's plenty good enough to work from, watch YouTube, even play a few games on, as long as you're sitting in the sweet spot. It's definitely crisp, and the color is good. Sound is surprisingly decent for its size, as well. You could definitely get by with just using the built-in speakers if you really wanted to. The only possible downside to this machine for me is the storage. 32GB is not a lot. You can, however, use the built-in SD card slot and add in much more storage. If you use certain tricks to mount the SD card to a folder on your C drive, you can trick most applications into installing there to conserve the built-in storage. I only wish there were a way to ensure that the SD card never pops out if I were to bump or drop the machine! I guess the key is to not do that. ;) Overall, I have to admit, I was impressed. I've been very happy with this computer. If it survives for a few years, then I feel I've gotten my money's worth. It does what I need and more.

I've been wanting a laptop in the size and weight range of a MacBook Air 11" for a while now and was able to pick this up for $130 recently. I've been very pleased with it having replaced the Windows 10S operating system with Ubuntu Mate. A few things to be aware of if you're considering it. The screen is TN so it's not as bright as an IPS or with as good of angles, storage is 32Gb eMMC (slower than SATA3) and the microSD reader seems to be on a USB 2.0 controller so you'll be looking at 40 MB/s speeds rather than the 80 to 90 that most cards are capable of. The first 2 I knew about going in to the purchase so they weren't a big deal, the last I had to find out through testing. The microSD slot is a push push spring loaded mechanism and the card fits flush with the body so you can leave it in without concerns for it snagging on anything. A plus. Everything else works as expected. It's great for day to day activities but of course not suitable for heavy duty work. With Linux the overall experience is quick and snappy. The physical weight specs in at about 2 pounds and makes it a joy to pick up and use. The keyboard is actually quite good and doesn't feel cheap or cramped. Overall, a winner for me at a great price.

Super price, it's really a great looking laptop, with a solid, fast Intel processor, nice keyboard, and super battery life. It's excellent for basic tasks, as well as light games. 32gb storage is minimal, along with bloatware.

I was a little worried with the price so low (bought it on sale for $130) but was pleasantly surprised. Great second computer. Very light and easy to throw in bag or large purse and take along. Works at a good speed as long as you don't have too many applications or windows open at once. Very happy with purchase.

My mother has bad arthritis and couldn't handle her larger and heavier laptop. I went to Best Buy and found this ASUS notebook and it has been amazing. ASUS has quality products and this was just what she needed. It is very lightweight and well put together. Easy to open and close. She needs it just for Facebook, email, keeping up with friends and normal web surfing, but this little thing does a whole lot more. Once you buy you a SD card to expand the storage you can take Windows out of S mode (if needed) and have a fully functional machine. S mode is fine if you are doing what my mother is, but many need the full version. Don't let the 32GB of memory scare you away. Well worth the Money and didn't disappoint.

I got this little laptop so I could work on my online classes anywhere I went, but still with a good size keyboard. This fits into my larger purse, and now I don't have to worry about lugging my nice (and heavier) full-size laptop everywhere. I basically just use it to go online for my classes and to use OneNote, which allows me to be able to access my notes on all my devices, so it doesn't matter that it only has 4GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. If I need to start saving large files, I can always start carrying an extra flash drive or external hard drive with me too. I'll still be using my other laptop to run software that needs more power, such as Photoshop, Power Director, Pro-Tools, and also for drawing (since it has a touch screen whilst this little laptop doesn't).

Looking at this laptop, it is pretty obvious that it isn't a pricey system - it's plastic, no backlit keyboard, and the screen quality won't amaze anyone. Yet, it is a pretty decent system that handles most tasks well thanks to its Intel Celeron N4000 (a huge improvement over the previous gen processor), 4GB of RAM, and fast eMMC storage. By most tasks I mean every day things, like browse the web, pay bills, watch YouTube videos, work on Word, PowerPoint, or Excel documents, check email, etc... It also handles some games from the Windows store ok; but, I would not recommend this system for some of the newer games that require a decent graphics card/GPU - if you want this for games look elsewhere for a machine with AMD or Nvidia graphics. As for design and sleekness, the computer is well built and I love the blue and dark gray color, the system weighs close to nothing - maybe the equivalent of 2 iPads with type covers, and it is fairly small and thin, so should fit almost any backpack or maybe even a large purse. It's a 1366 x 768 display, so yes, it's HD; but, not even 1080p - which isn't a bad thing, it actually means you can read the 11.6" display without having to zoom in or squint a lot. If you want to, you can plug the computer into a larger HD monitor, and the built in graphics processor works pretty well. The only problem with this system - it only has a 32GB eMMC, so after I updated it to Windows 10 Home (comes with S version), installed Office 365, Chrome, and a few other apps that I like, I was only left with 14GB of free storage. Asus does try to make things better by including a micro-SD card slot, so I stuck a 64GB card into it, and mapped my OneDrive folders that I really care about to that. In today's age where technology isn't so pricey, I sure would have hoped that Asus had included a 64GB eMMC, or even better a PCIe SSD so that we would be free to upgrade it if needed. Anyways, whether you're a pro on the go that just needs something to work on Office documents and plug into a projector, or someone who needs an inexpensive computer for traveling and bringing abroad, or a computer for an elementary through maybe even high school aged kid who doesn't play PC games, or a machine just to check emails and pay the bills, this is the perfect system for you. As someone who likes these compact machines, on the next release I'd like to see Asus switch from eMMC storage to a PCIe SSD and drop the old-school charging port and allow charging through the USB-C port - not asking for much, I'd be happy if they offered those changes with the same CPU and same 4GB of RAM and kept the machine at the same low price of around $200.

I needed a small laptop. A full size (17 inch) or even a 15 inch laptop is too big for what I was looking for. I do miss the internal DVD drive but in this case, I don't need it. USD159, it is extremely reasonable and works well enough to watch Netflix, or YouTube video. It's very light. The battery lasts a long time (hours and hours). There are no moving parts (the 'hard drive' is a solid state hard drive.) One thing I wish it had was the internal "hard drive" of 64 gigabytes. Right now it only has 32 and it means there will not be too many programs that can be installed unless you install them onto a memory card which can easily be purchased separately. When you install a program, you will have to manually tell it to store on a memory card instead. (Instead of drive C, you'd choose drive D, for example.) It is a dual core Intel Celeron CPU. This is not a computer to be playing any kind of games. It actually is suitable to use as a lightweight word processing, or surfing the Internet. However for myself, I needed to install a voice dictation program and I was afraid that it would fill up the hard drive (and it did not amazingly) – I use Dragon Medical (the medical version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking). You know, I talk, and it types for me. I connect the computer to an external handheld microphone and I talk into it. A faster computer would certainly result in faster performance—and in this case, there are a few seconds of delay, but eventually, it catches up. If I dictate a long paragraph (and I speak quickly), I would give it a few seconds at the end of the long paragraph, and it fills the screen with the text I just dictated. The accuracy rate is the same, it is not as fast as my desktop and I did not expect it to be. So for what it is, something that costs so little like this is extremely reasonable. A busy student may find it not as powerful for anything beyond basic word processing (and to be honest, Dragon Medical costs a fortune, let alone the consumer version of Dragon), so if you need to compose by hand, using the keyboards, it works well enough, too. You probably want to create a cloud account or use a thumb drive or memory card to save your data though. Don't set your expectations too high. Remember the price you are paying for and be happy for what it could do for you.
