Because of that, I strongly discourage buying any new Chromebook with less than 8 GB of RAM or 128 GB of storage today, especially if you plan to keep it a few years. I've used Chromebooks for years, and this ASUS Chromebook Plus CX14 is the first one that genuinely feels like a "real laptop replacement" instead of a compromise. On the plus side, performance is much better than I expected for this class. The Core 3 + 8 GB RAM combo handles 10+ Chrome tabs, streaming, and Android apps without hesitation, and it feels noticeably snappier than the older Celeron‑class machines I've owned. I was able to turn on Linux for Developers with a couple of clicks, install Remmina, and remotely connect to my Windows boxes smoothly. The built-in SSH terminal, combined with proper SSH keys, allows me to run X apps naturally, and Android apps from the Play Store install and run as expected. For someone who lives in Chrome, SSH, and RDP, the CX14 proves to be a surprisingly capable little device for developers and IT professionals, not just a "browser toy."​ The hardware is also better thought‑out than most budget Chromebooks. The 14" 1080p screen is sharp with good color and viewing angles for work and streaming, and text clarity is miles better than the cheap panels you see on a lot of entry‑level devices. I have all Apple stuff iPhone MacBook however my MacBook was stolen and I’ve been using my iPhone to do court paperwork and was told that the Chromebook would be cheap and easy for what I was looking at what I was doing and it would work with iPhone or be easy to use with iPhone since most things I use are online Gmail iCloud, and the paperwork for the court I was told it would work fine however I didn’t work out as well as I was told or what I thought or liked or wanted so however I can see that it is a good product just happened to not work for what I needed it for

This is my third Chromebook and the earlier two were underwhelming when it came to certain things (screen/harddrive size/design) . Google fixed this by creating “Chromebook Plus” which requires some specs to get the label and I have to say this needs to be the standard for all Chromebooks as the CX14 is leaps and bounds above what I have used previously. The Good : The CX14 has a great in hand feel and is fingerprint resistant, no need to constantly clean it. The keyboard is a pleasure to use and I also noticed that the keys dont get stained after using it for the past week. The palm rest are perfectly sized, so my watch doesn’t rub against it when being used. The rounded corners make it a breeze to get in and out of backpack without snagging on anything. The CX14 looks and feels like a high-end laptop. The screen on the Asus CX14 is one of the best Full HD panels, the colors look great and true to life when watching content. When working on office task all the text are clear and this is huge, one of the worst things on entry devices is a bad viewing experience when it comes to document related things. Even when zooming in (Videos/Work/Photos) there is no distortion of any kind. The screen itself is limited when it comes to brightness as 250 nits but its surprisingly good and when looking at it straight on. Where the Asus CX14 excels is performance, running 10+ chrome tabs while streaming and no hesitation or slow down. This Chromebook handles normal task easily, it can even do some photo editing without much of an issue. When it come to video editing it’s not something I would recommend but it is still leaps ahead of other cellphone chips being used in other Chromebooks. I plugged the CX14 into a 5k ultrawide curved monitor and there was no issue, I was able to get 144 htz refresh at 5k which I was not expecting. I even ran some games to see how they play and there was no stutter or lag, even while playing on the 5K monitor. Even though the CX14 doesn’t have a HDR screen when plugged into a HDR screen it can push HDR content. Another area the CX14 does well is the ports, you have 2 USB C along with a HDMI, Kensington lock, USB A and a headphone jack. Now the ports are not for professionals, but they are more than enough for most people. Battery life is decent; I was able to get 4.5 hours with screen at full brightness while doing casual tasks. While you may think this isn’t enough this was at full brightness. What worked extremely well is the wake function every time I opened the lid the CX14 turned on instantly. The Bad: -The screen could be brighter, in a room with a lot of light it is hard to see. -The sound is not good at all, you will need headphones or wireless speaker. -The webcam quality is bad -Does slow down when doing heavy intensive task such as video editing/ running local AI processes. Overall: The CX14 is a great step-up for the Chromebooks, the Chromebook plus tag requirements provides a much needed premium feel. The CX14 is snappy and doesn’t slow down unless your doing extreme task. The fit and feel of the CX14 is great and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid machine to do casual tasks with. There is a difference between cheap and value and the CX14 is a value buy that looks, feels and preforms like a premium product.

Great product!! If I had one critique it would be that it hasn't had the best quality for zoom meetings. Other than that, I have no complaints.

If you aren't familiar with Chromebooks, these laptops run Google Chrome OS and support web / cloud based applications only. Due to the cost effectiveness and compatibility, these laptops are popular with schools and businesses for day to day activities. The school systems in my area have moved solely to Chromebooks for their students, and for this reason I picked up the ASUS CX14 Chromebook Plus to see how it would perform against the high school required specs. TL:DR - If you need a Chromebook (or don't need traditional memory / hard drive based applications), the performance and features of the ASUS should put the CX14 at the top of your list. Built in AI (Google Gemini) assistant is also a nice feature, but many schools have implemented AI restrictions. Pros: Compact, lightweight, and rugged build FHD screen is viewable at most angles, will fold flat 128 GB storage is great, especially for school projects It will run cloud base apps all day, with almost no noise, and a full work day battery life Titan C2 security hardware to keep the Chromebook virus free Cons: This is still a Chromebook, you're limited to cloud / web based applications. Not a con for all, but that is what sets this apart from a traditional laptop. Wifi 6E, my personal opinion is that laptops should have wifi 7 at this point In the box is the laptop and USB-C charging cord. Out of the box, the first you'll notice the CX14 is a lightweight (3 lbs) yet rugged feeling build. Thanks to my teen, I have already performed a drop test off a counter height table, with zero damage to the case or screen. There is a single hinge that spans the majority of the back, allowing the laptop to lay flat, but also keeps the screen in place at whatever angle you choose. Screen viewing is great, starting at ~60 degrees (folded in towards the keyboard) and viewable all the way to 180 degrees / laying flat, with very minimal glare, even with overhead lighting. The keyboard is full sized, with slight spacing between the keys to help with accuracy for those with larger hands. The sound is about as expected for a laptop, it's a bit muted due to the speakers being on the bottom of the case. It does sound better if the laptop isn't on a flat surface, but nonetheless, still a relatively flat sound that most laptops are known for. Based off a few days of use, I find that the thing that sets the ASUS CX14 apart from other Chromebooks is the build specs. ASUS upgraded to an Intel Core 3, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, 1080p front camera, and full HD resolution screen. As for connectivity, the laptop has an HDMI 1.4 port, a USB-A port, USB-C port, USB-C charging port, headphone jack, wifi 6E supported wireless card, and bluetooth. The build is very quiet, primarily because the fan doesn't have to work hard to dissipate heat associated with running resource intensive applications. As far as usage, on a fast connection, this laptop will stream, surf, and run cloud based applications with ease. The additional storage provided is nice, as it ensures there is plenty of room for downloading and sharing a full semester worth of school projects. The build seems like it will withstand a high schooler for at least one school year, if not longer. Most importantly, it's portable and budget friendly, which makes this a great option to take anywhere.

Very well built Chromebook laptop. Came in a not too large box, they included a wall charger and USB type C cable for charging. Setting it up was easy (if you have an Android phone), when I booted it up it told me if I had an Android phone I could pass the login info from int, my phone automatically showed the Chromebook wanted to access it and I did and all my Google credentials were entered automatically, along with my apps and from them on, if I have my phone close to it and unlocked, it will unlock the Chromebook automatically (sadly no fingerprint reader or any biometric way of unlocking it, other than a PIN, password or phone close by). I was surprised by how good quality the screen is. I've had other Chromebooks where the screen was lacking (either cheap TN panels, or bad contrast or resolution), not this guy. Resolution was full HD and the brightness (gets super bright!) and contrast levels where great! Performance was very good, it has an Intel CPU and plenty of RAM for a light OS like ChromeOS (space was good with also 128 gigs). I was surprised at the quality of the build (its plastic, but feels super sturdy and looks and feels nice, almost like aluminum feeling). They include two Type C USB ports with fast charging and display and power delivery. I was pleasantly surprised to also see a full size HDMI port (very convenient if you want to output video to a large TV or projector, for school, or business projects). It also has a Type A USB 5gb port, and a combo audio jack (headphones/mic). On one side there is a Kensington security lock. The included webcam is of good quality and full HD, its above the screen and has a nice privacy slider (it covers the cam lens) if you want to make sure your webcam is covered for privacy. Battery life was been great, have been using it 8 hours a day for work and just charge it over night, no issues. Performance has been snappy and I got tons of chrome tabs open and I don't see any slow downs. The only con I could find is I would say is the keyboard is not backlit (I use it sometimes in the dark) and I feel this is a feature some Chromebooks miss and should be in (doesn't have to be full RGB, but at least a white backlight). If you want a fast laptop, secure and easy to use, with a good build quality and you are able to compromise not having the more common desktop OS on it, this is the one for you. Its a great laptop for quick use at home, and great also for school and work!

I am very happy with this Asus Chromebook Plus. It has far exceeded my expectations in several categories and even stood to downright impress me in others! I will bounce around on the things I like about this Chromebook, but the TLDR is that if you are in the market for a Chromebook in this price range, this is absolutely one that should make it to the top of the list for you! First of all, I am just impressed by how usable and versatile Chromebooks are nowadays. The setup of this computer is as smooth as any I have experienced, and waaaayyy smoother than the still bloated and clunky setups of even high-end Windows 11-based machines. Because I have already been an avid Google Chrome user with a Gmail account and other Google-oriented devices, logging in and setting up this device felt almost as simple as logging out of my daily use desktop computer, opening up this laptop, and picking up where I left off. Because Chrome OS is the operating system here, all of my Google-related content just loaded up perfectly as soon as this device was set up and ready to go. My main activities on my home computer, including web browsing, Spotify, YouTube content consumption, and productivity on Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, etc.), were as easy as pie to get into on this Chromebook. In fact, I wrote this review on Microsoft Word via the Microsoft 365 app available to download in the Chrome app store! I have to admit, as some background, that I am a diehard MacBook Pro and Air fan for my day-to-day portable computing tasks and for use at my work. But this Chromebook is absolutely giving them a run for their money in terms of general usage at a fraction of the price! Let’s talk about that performance next. One of the reasons I picked this Chromebook is that it is equipped with what I feel should be the minimal specs for a laptop computer these days. It has 8 GB of RAM, which, on an optimized lightweight OS like Chrome, is plenty for the majority of people to have multiple apps open in the background, along with plenty of Chrome web browser tabs open without the system getting bogged down. Adding to that is the Intel Core i3 processor, which is perfect for keeping plenty of power fed to the computer programs to allow for intensive CPU tasks to be completed without stuttering or delayed load times. This chip is also cooled with a stout copper heat sink and a fan that rarely spins up during normal use. I really appreciate the fact that the fan is here if needed, but that it doesn’t have to be spinning and making noise all the time! Finally, in this era of cloud storage and web application-based school and work programs, I find that the onboard 128 GB of eMMC storage (essentially a fancy SD card) is adequate for most users’ needs in 2025. In my opinion, many computer users today who have changed with the times have moved past the era where we had 100s of GBs of music libraries and photo albums all stored on local storage. Now life has moved towards music streaming services like Spotify Premium and YouTube Premium and cloud storage like Google Drive, OneDrive, and iCloud. As a quick aside, that is one of the things I am grateful for too: I can access my OneDrive storage from the Microsoft 365 app on this computer with ease! It even offers the option in settings to add and be able to manage your files on this computer via OneDrive. That is honestly so cool that Google has made the concession with the device that some users are just more entrenched in the Microsoft 365 suite and will be better suited using those programs than Google-based ones. There are a few things where this Chromebook is definitely punching above its weight class. First of all, the keyboard, although it is not backlit, is one of the nicest budget keyboards I have typed on in a long time. Asus killed it with how tactile yet gentle these keys are while typing, and the eggshell texturing on them makes for a great tactility while I am rapidly typing. It is also a rather subdued “thonk” sound that these keys make as opposed to a high-pitched or plasticky “click”. This keyboard would be highly welcome in a library or other quiet typing environments. The webcam of this laptop is ridiculously good for a $600 device. It is 1080p and, frankly, looks better than my older MacBook Air camera with a very smooth 30FPS frame rate and good lighting as well! The physical privacy shutter is a bonus, too. The next part of this Chromebook that is outstanding is the screen. This screen can get respectably bright, which is great while typing in a brightly lit area, even outdoors in indirect sunlight! And counter to this, it also has an easy-to-toggle eyecare/blue light elimination night time screen mode, which yellows everything out and makes it easier on your eyes as you are winding down in the evening. Plus, the fact that the whole screen can fold down flat is nice for a variety of uses. However, the lid and hinge combo of this laptop is not super optimized, and opening the lid is a two-handed deal. Not a big problem, but some people may want to know that! The speakers on this laptop will not be winning any awards or filling a whole living room with dance party music, but they are reasonably loud and of high enough quality to manage their tasks. I am only picking up two bottom-firing speakers at the front of the laptop. The track pad on this laptop is in the goldilocks zone: just the right size, the right smoothness, and is easy to click in the appropriate positions for your typical springboard style trackpad with physical click and feedback. Gestures on it work well, like three fingers brushing up to show your app and window view of the desktops. Some additional random things I love about this laptop and OS. It has excellent standby time. What I mean by that is I can confidently close the lid at night with the device unplugged, let’s say, at 97% battery, and the next morning when I open the laptop up, it will still be at 97%! This is something that is still sloppy and annoying with Windows OS-based laptops: you will close the laptop thinking it is going to sleep, but the next day it will practically be dead in your bag! Not so with this laptop. Having Gemini and the AI engine thereof built into this Chromebook Plus is absolutely awesome. I have recently become a strong adherent of AI assistants and use them often in both my personal productivity work and in my paid work. Having a simple app I can pop open on this Chromebook and start firing away questions with it is really wonderful, especially considering how this laptop is specifically optimized around AI implementation. One of the BEST parts of this laptop is that I feel like Asus has finally listened to my bellyaching and others as well: they are finally using USB-C charging on one of their budget laptops! Not only that, but they gave us TWO USB-C ports on this laptop capable of charging the machine! That is amazing! This uses an included 45-watt USB-C charger that is compact and easy to transport, but it is so wonderful that it is not proprietary now, and that any appropriately powered USB-C charging method will work to top this excellent little ChromeBook off! This Chromebook is also equipped with a great range of additional I/O: HDMI 1.4, USB-A 3.2 with 5 Gbps connection speed, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Kensington security lock on the right side! This laptop is ready to go “dongle-free” into your school and workbag unlike so many other ultrabooks and laptops these days! Altogether, if you are in the market specifically for a Chromebook or just want to get into a highly featured and usable laptop computer in this price range and don’t have a specific need for a Windows or Apple-based computer, I think that you have found the right one in this Asus CX14 Chromebook Plus!

I'd like to consider myself a power user so I knew this little guy was not meant for me. I set this up to let my mother use for travel it works perfectly. If you are looking at this, there's a few things you should be aware of. This is probably not a good choice for kids / college kids, the apps and software on here are limited. This is not Windows, it is a custom Linux based Google platform, meaning that there may be some software that it may not be able to access if you are buying this for your kids/college kids. Because it is from Google, you do have access to all the apps on Google Store / Play Store, so if you just need something from that store, this guy will be able to access/run that software. Setting things up were self explanatory, follow the prompts, if you have a google / android phone there are some added features where it can communicate with your phone (i have an iphone so i didn't add any of these features) That aside, the basic things you need to do are achievable if you do not need specific software; you need to do word documents/write a document? Google docs. All the google software are on here, the power point, the calendar, etc. So it is achievable and efficient at doing so. My mother enjoys her internet access to Netflix, youtube, Line, Whatsapp, Tiktok, etc. And it is all here and accessible. I was pleasantly surprised at the wide sound stage of the speakers, very unexpected and although it's a little tinny, short on the bass, the wide sound stage was more than enough for my mom. Battery life was great, of course we are just performing basic functions, but nevertheless she was able to use it for a full day on a single charge. Pleasantly surprised. Think the website claims 10-11 hours on light use, she was watching youtube surfing web and easily did 7-8 hours. My gripe was only with the screen. You can see my screenshots that I've attached. The angle/contrast could be improved a little, but these are just nit picks. She didn't even notice. It's not glossy so not alot of reflections, which is great, but the washy contrast and the aberrations / washed out colors at an angle could be some minor improvements on future models. Overall, great little companion you can take everywhere. Again if you don't have any specific software you absolutely need to use, then great, go for it. This is a Chromebook so it runs from the Google platform, not Windows. If you just need Google Docs, Netflix, Line/Whatsapp, etc, this is a very effective , light weight, and efficient route to go.

Chromebooks have been around for quite some time. And they have been valuable as a cloud computing and have been and affordable solution not only in terms of costs of deployment in school or even in some enterprise or maybe for smaller businesses as well as the lower costs of hardware. The only issue here is that after so many years, the most common weakness of Chromebooks nowadays would be the aging Celeron chips used and the measly 4GB found in most Chromebooks. While Celerons and 4GB would most likely be still usable Chromebooks could benefit well from a speedbump. And while Chromebooks with faster processors have also been around, their price points are that of those of Windows laptops hence making faster Chromebooks not a viable option. After, you can always use the Chrome browsers or even MS Edge to use Chrome based applications. The Asus Chromebook CX1405 is one such solution as it’s at a reasonable price point. The Asus CX1405 at first looks like any other 14” laptop as most Chromebooks are which is obvious. But it boasts of having an Intel i3 chip (there is an i5 version too). Also, it has 8GB onboard RAM which is a jump from the measly 4GB. In the Chromebook world 8GB is already a lot though it cannot be said for Windows and MacOS. It also has 128GB of storage though that is not significant for me as as your files are 99% stored in the cloud. For most users 64GB would be sufficient but the extra storage is always welcome. This Chromebook has a matte screen which is 1080p but like most if not all Chromebooks, the display settings can be adjusted. I cannot determine the resolution of the video camera but video is bright and crisp. It most probably has a 1080p resolution too. If not, it is very much usable. The speakers do have minimal bass but overall audio quality is crisp and does not sound cheap. Stereo sound is fairly evident here unlike in other Chromebooks or budget laptops. As for ports, this Chromebook pretty much covers everything. There are two USB-C ports one of which is used for charging, There is also a USB 3 port and an HDMI port all found in the left side. And there seems to be a Kensington lock port found on the right side of the unit. Battery life as per the Chromebook’s monitor seems to be rated at 10 hours or so which is fairly common. Only in high end Windows laptops can you find this battery life. Overall, this Chromebook is a workhorse. For those who are looking for a more capable Chromebook, this is a solid option.

Chromebooks are my favorite type of computer. I have owned several over the past decade and I prefer them ten times out of ten compared to Windows laptops or Macbooks. This CX14 model from Asus has a lot of positives and I have enjoyed my first week with it. Pros: - I really like the chassis design, as the surface seems to do a great job of repelling fingerprints / finger grease. The bottom has much better venting for heat than I've seen in most other Chromebooks. - The size of this model is perfect for me. The 14" size is plenty big for regular use, but small enough to easily fit safely in any backpack or shoulder bag. It's incredibly lightweight as well. - The HD screen provides beautiful visuals and is one of the highlights of this Chromebook. - The Intel processor and 8GB of RAM are more than enough to keep you multitasking and help facilitate the Gemini app well. - I had a lot of fun playing around with the Gemini App. I find it useful to use for image creation and love to have it design logos for my kid's soccer team. - The best thing about this (or pretty much any Chromebook) is how smoothly and quickly It can boot up and complete software updates. For this model, the initial set-up was quick and required a brief update that took no more than 2 minutes. And now that I'm up and running, it can boot up in mere seconds every time. Cons: - The keyboard and trackpad were my least favorite aspects of this model. They work fine, but they both seem lower quality than what I am used to with other Chromebooks as far as their feel. Also, I wish the keyboard had been back-lit for a model in this price range. Overall, this Chromebook is a great option. Its portability, features, and snappy performance make it a terrific model to consider.

The slaes process was a delight. The gentleman that helped me was knowledgeable and pointed out key differences between other models. So far the computer has run efficiently and performed as advertised. Holds charge for a long time. Has great internet connection and clear screen. Runs fast as well! Would buy again.

In a world of Mac and Windows laptops, the Asus CX1405 Chromebook is a breath of fresh air. The CX14 has the typical physical setup of a standard laptop with clam shell design. As for specs, it has a 14” screen, Intel Core i3 processor with 8 gigabytes of RAM and 128 eMMC SSD hard drive. Also notable within the CX14 is Google's AI to assist in writing and other tasks. Using Chromebook for the first time, I was surprised at how easy it was to move between the Windows environment and Chrome OS. The commands and feel are very similar making it easier to just pick up the CX14 and just go! You can even use Microsoft Office 365 productivity suite to easily work on your documents between Windows and Chrome OS devices. The keyboard has good spacing and feedback while typing. I was able to add a wireless mouse to aid in screen navigation. As for connectivity, the CX14 has you covered there too with one audio jack, one USB C, and one USB A for your connected devices. As for the battery, it sips its power lasting what seems to be days on end. I have been using it for an hour to two hours per sitting with a little drain on the battery. I have to say that I didn’t expect the CX14 to perform as well as it does. I was able to transition from the Windows environment to Chrome OS with little or no problems. This is one of the best budget laptops on the market.

This ASUS CX14 14" FHD Chromebook Plus Laptop is really quite similar to a PC laptop. However, a Chromebook is generally for internet based use running Google apps. It is fantastic for email, streaming and such with most files kept in Google's cloud. You can also store files on the laptop itself, but there is only 128gb of eMMC. eMMC is embedded flash memory, a slower type of storage than SSD, and is actually soldered onto the motherboard of the laptop so it is basically not upgradeable. However, it is anticipated that Chromebook users will store most data in the cloud. When using a Chromebook, a stable internet connection is a must. The specifications for this are generally good for a Chromebook. It has an Intel Core 3 series processor, which processes more quickly that I thought it would. I have had no issues with it being too slow to do what I wanted to do. Connectivity is good with 2 USB-C ports (one is the charging port), USB-A, HDMI, headphone jack & Kensington lock slot. It is full HD (1920x1080), 8 core, WiFi 6e and has bluetooth. The graphics are good enough for me to watch Netflix with no issues, but don't expect vibrant clarity. The WiFi also is fairly stable for me. The RAM though, is EXTREMELY limited on this. With only 8gb of LPDDR5, I am having a difficult time. While doing this review, I have 5 web pages open in Chrome and I'm listening to Spotify. I am using 96% of the RAM!! That is not good. Normally, when I'm browsing the web, I tend to go from page to page and may have 8-10 tabs open. The laptop has a relatively thin bezel around the screen, is lightweight at 3.06 pounds and is nice looking in a "misty grey." It is NOT touch screen. This comes with Google AI built in. That can help you do homework, brainstorm ideas, overcome writer's block and so many more useful things. And importantly, the ChromeOS is highly resistant to virus attacks. Overall, for light use, this Chromebook has the ability to help you get through your day more efficiently. It is lightweight and easy to use and is ENERGY STAR Certified. However, the RAM issue is a deal breaker for me personally, and for that reason, I cannot recommend this ASUS CX14 14" FHD Chromebook Plus Laptop.

I've used a number of laptops in my day but the ones I've usually stayed away from were Chromebooks. Usually, these things came with Celeron chips making them really slow and laggy. Almost wasn't worth the effort in using them since they were so slow to do even basic tasks. But, with this one it's a bit different and in a better way. For starters, this laptop is probably best suited for a student or light duty user. While this laptop has some nice hardware to it, it's not really designed for mid/heavy duty type tasks. 14" screen size is nice and compact/. It's FHD so it's clear enough for just about anyone's needs whether it be YouTube, Netflix or general word processing type tasks. This one has a Intel i3 chip so it's much better than the usual Celeron chips I've previously used before. Again, light \ tasks are handled pretty well and there's no lag like with Celeron processors. 128GB drive and LPDDR5 RAM round out the specs on this which makes this laptop perform quite well in most day to day tasks. A couple drawbacks (maybe) are that the "hard drive" on this is eMMC. While it's fast enough, or faster than your older disc drives, it's not replaceable or upgradeable. Also, the RAM is great for this laptop as it's geared for lower power usage but, again, not replaceable or upgradeable. If you're wanting to keep this as a long term laptop where you can upgrade some components then this one definitely isn't for you. But, right out of the box, it works well and it suitable for just about any user.

Once I got over the hurdle of not being able to redeem the Google AI Pro 12 month offer, Best Buy came through in giving me that offer. I love this Chromebook, it is better than what the so-called professional critics say about it. The keyboard is fine to me, but I do not use the mouse pad, I prefer using a wireless mouse. The display is bright enough as well, if you are in the sun with it, you're in the wrong spot. Critics complain about the structure of it being weak, again I find it strong enough for me and the weight of it is not that heavy, it builds muscles LOL. I say the average person as I am in surfing the web, reading emails, going on Facebook and reading in general will be very happy with this Chromebook. It has what you need, 8 gigabytes of ram, 4 would be too low. The clock speed is very good at 1.9 and goes up to 3.9 and storage is good too, 128 GB, 64 GB would not be enough. I say buy it you will be very happy as I am with my decision.

I bought the ASUS CX14 14″ FHD Chromebook Plus for my child and we’re both really happy with it! The laptop is lightweight, easy for them to use, and the screen looks great for school work and fun. Performance has been smooth so far, and the battery lasts long enough for homework and videos. It’s been a great value and perfect for what my kid needs!

Great for browsing, email, and streaming. Lightweight, boots fast, and the battery lasts all day. ChromeOS keeps things simple and snappy. Good option if you don’t need a full Windows machine.

I’ve had the ASUS CX14 Chromebook Plus for nearly two months now, and it has completely changed my mobile workflow. As a "Plus" model, the performance is noticeably snappier than standard Chromebooks; it handles dozens of open tabs and video calls without a hint of lag. The real test for me was traveling. I frequently need to remote connect to my main PC back at the office, and this machine handles the connection beautifully. The screen is crisp, and the keyboard makes long sessions comfortable, which is essential when I'm away from my desk. I’ve also been diving into the Linux (Beta) feature. It’s been great for experimenting with professional apps that aren't natively available on ChromeOS. It turns this simple laptop into a much more capable development machine. Finally, the security is a huge weight off my shoulders. Knowing that Google handles the encryption and background updates means I can focus on my work rather than worrying about malware or system maintenance. Whether for professional tasks or personal browsing, this is a top-tier choice.

Went in needing a new laptop because my other one was acting up and starting to slow down. Saw this one online, and was able to buy it for about $215 as a product that had been returned. Runs great and the battery life is much longer than my other laptop's. I still haven't figured out all the features yet, but so far, it's definitely one of the best purchases I've made.
