Lets address the elephant in the room first. It is very pricey and i would heavily suggest wait until it goes on sale, or if it's on sale somewhere else ask to have it price matched, assuming its a qualified conpetitor for price matching. That being said this router is a beast. Speeds are excellent and coverage is broad. Like most homes the best coverage will come from the router being located mainly in the middle of the house and not stuffed in a far corner. If you cant install it in a central location then i would consider looking into one of their AI Mesh routers to extend the network. The additional gamer first features are a nice touch and if you have an Asus motherboard on your computer you can take further advantage of the game first feature. The website interface can be a bit intimidating, but offers a large variety of optimizations including gaming, video streaming, video conferencing, office work, file transfering and more. I know in the title of this review i said "when it works." My isp is ATT Fiber and i believe my issue is due to a configuration issue between the modem and the router. What was happening was the wifi on all devices would say its connected without internet, but the status lights on the router would should its functioning like normal. This would result in my needing to reboot the system which can take up to five minutes. This would happen about once a week and was getting super annoying to the point i considered returning the router. So far what i have found that seems to be working now is the following: On the ATT modem, set it to IP Passthrough, turn off all firewall settings, disable all packet filtering, turn off IPV6 On the Asus router, make sure your firewall is enabled on default settings, keep IPV6 turned off, under WAN settings the WAN Connection Type is set to Automatic IP and at the bottom the DHCP query frequency is set to Normal Mode. This seems to be the most stable setup that i have been able to find, and doing a good amount of research i found that the no internet issue is a common problem for this particular model. Asus needs to address this with a firmware update for a more permanent fix. All in all if you're tech savy enough to set it up correctly and are comfortable with potential troubleshooting then you'll be happy with this router once its set up and running correctly.

I picked up the ROG GTBE98 at Best Buy last week and wow its been solid right out the box. Setup took like 10 minutes with the app no fuss at all just followed the steps and boom everything connected perfect. My downloads are way faster now huge game files finish in no time and online matches feel super smooth no lag spikes even with the whole house streaming stuff. The gaming ports and boost features really do their thing my ping dropped a ton. Looks pretty slick too with the lights and all that. Had a tiny hiccup with one device at first but a quick reboot fixed it. Overall super happy I went with this one over the cheaper options definitely worth it for anyone who games alot or wants fast reliable wifi. Would buy again no doubt.

Wi-Fi 7 being the new standard is something else. Since wifi 6 was not going well I finally upgraded. Now Wi-Fi speeds are stable and I am getting what I am paying for. It can even reach into the room that normally the signal strength is pretty weak. Gaming has also improved since the direct link from AT&T‘s modem wasn’t doing too well in competitive games. So I say if you can afford it go for it. So worth it especially if it’s on sale.

This router has been a huge upgrade. Setup was easy, and performance is crazy fast, especially for gaming and streaming. My connection is stable even with multiple devices running, and the range covers my whole place without issues. There’s a lot of customization if you’re into tweaking settings, which is a nice bonus. Only downside is the price and the bulky design, but you definitely get what you pay for. Overall, if you want top-tier speed and reliability, it’s worth it

A seriously amazing router! Handles everything I have with ease and I have a 5> ping and I’m maxing out my bandwidth spectrum with this router! Amazing! It’s light years ahead of the curve!

Definitely have seen some improvements but trying to get the hard drive to use as a local server it's kind of difficult.

I’ve used Asus routers for years and I have to say, they’re among the best. Their interface is great, simple and is based on open source software. This router is huge but it is powerful enough to send WiFi throughout my home. WiFi 7 is coming, and this router will prepare you for it. Something great about this router is it has Guest Networking Pro. What this means is that you can create specialize SSIDs for your guests, IoT devices, or a network for working from home. Each network you create is separate from your intranet, so it can’t access your devices on the primary network (network segregation). If you’re wondering what the difference is with this router versus their other WiFi 7 router, it’s because this one includes Quad Bands instead of Tri Band. This is beneficial if you plan on implementing mesh networking. One of the best things about Asus is that any of their routers can be used as a mesh node. Overall this is an awesome router for performance, security, network segregation and I can’t recommend it enough. Can’t recommend it enough.

Honestly, I’m really impressed with this router. Since I installed it, the connection has been much more stable and faster, especially when playing Warzone on PS5. No more lag or latency spikes when playing with a squad. The WiFi range is excellent, and wired connection performs at its best. Easy to set up and feels like a serious upgrade. 100% recommended if you want smooth, lag-free gaming.

This is a powerful router that can basically do everything. It has great coverage and doesn't need reboot like older ASUS routers. It also has much more 2.5Gbps LAN ports compared to the regular RT-BE96U and two 10Gbps LAN ports. The difference in price between the RT-BE96U and the GT-BE98 Pro is less than a 5-port 2.5Gbps switch, so it's a nobrainer to choose the GT-BE98 Pro. However, the one crucial flaw for this router is that it has dual 6GHz bands instead of dual 5GHz bands. In today's world, not many devices can take advantage of the 6GHz band, let alone the extremely short-ranged 6GHz high band. With dual 5GHz bands like the GT-BE98, you can put all IoT devices on the low band, and everything fast & modern on the high band. With this router, you can't do that.

Excellent router with super strong signal strength and the newest Wifi 7 standard. Both app and web management is easy to use with lots of functionalities. What I like the most is the super tech looking design. Would highly recommend.

Awesome router: I had the previous version and this one is as good as that (though without two 5g networks and if you transfer settings, you will have a phantom network that you aren't able to delete). But works well, good wireless range and settings. If you are transferring networks, just connect everything to the first 5g network, delete the other 5g network before saving the configuration.: then when you restore from the saved config, you should be fine.

I was originally running the Asus AX11000 with two new GT6 nodes. 1G internet service. I was getting under 900 mbs to the router, and below 400mbs to my main computer. I replaced the main router with this new BE98 Pro and post set up, I’m getting almost 1.2g to the router and over 900 mbs to the main PC! Simply remarkable. Set up was relatively simple, using the iOS Asus router app. Pretty much stuck with the initial defaults. There were a few hiccups during set up. First the GT6 nodes were showing poor connections to the main until I rebooted the BE98 Pro. Second, I tried the add an AX58 node as well, and the BE98 Pro didn’t not want to recognize it. I could not get the app to add. Finally, I logged in via browser on my phone and it recognized and added it! I cannot believe the immediate boost in performance, well worth the change!

Easy to setup. Plugged the fiber ONT into the WAN port, immediate internet connectivity. Setup the Wi-Fi options, noticed immediately faster up and down speeds with a 512 MB file.

This router was easy to set up and worked perfectly out of the box. I have a 2000 square foot house with an upstairs room and get fast and reliable wifi everywhere. I would recommend this Asus wifi router to anyone.

Great so far, no issues with network. Easy to set up and AiMesh works great with my existing network. It’s also a great conversation piece with how unique it looks.
