So, I bought this laptop because I travel quite a bit for work and can't take my whole gaming pc with me obviously. I was really concerned with a few things initially, I was worried that 32 gb of ram wasn't sufficient (Lots of ram heavy things open for work). It's totally fine. I also was worried that I wouldn't get the gaming performance I wanted. My at home pc is a 5090 with a AMD 9800X3D. The 120hz screen had me really concerned. Because of that I actually ordered the 16 inch version of this laptop (G16) and the Razer Blade 16. I thought that I was going to have to sacrifice the nice 14 inch compact size because I would need the 5080/5090 GPU and the 240hz refresh rate. THE TRUTH of the matter is this. And I've done wayyyy too much research, so I hope this helps someone. Gaming laptops nowadays are HEAVILY CPU limited. This model with the 5070ti performs better in games than the previous gen with the 5080 because of the CPU. When I tried the Razer Blade 16 and the G16 (which I returned both), the gain I got with the 5080 in those was maybe 5-8% more FPS. I did not test the 5090, but after extensive research, that may get 3-5% gain over the 5080 models and only in some games. Because we are massively CPU limited nowadays. When things got really heavy in a game and there was a lot of action, the 240hz refresh rate of the other laptops was irrelevant (for the most part). FPS would dip to 90-140 fps depending on the game. So being maxed out at 120hz on the 14 inch really didn't make a difference, and I would consistently match the performance of the bigger laptops because they are all CPU limited. Is there a benefit to more VRAM with 5080 and 5090? Yes, in very niche situations. For the general gamer, no. I was very impressed with this laptop. Is it nicer to game on a bigger screen, sure, but a laptop is meant to be portable, and this little guy is portable, powerful, looks beautiful, and runs really smoothly on battery only. Tip for anyone that buys, download G-Helper to manage power and settings for battery. Go on youtube and lookup "Crimson Tech 2026 G14". I don't know him, and am in no way affiliated with him, but he has a really nice review on this laptop, and sets up g-helper in a way that is awesome! The laptop is completely silent on battery, unless I decide to game on it. Last thing I'll mention, I'm sure people are concerned with the heat that this thing puts off. Yes its in a smaller frame than the 16 inch versions, but it doesn't get any hotter than the 16 inch versions. I attribute that to the fans going about 1000rpm faster than the other two laptops. Does that mean its a bit louder? Yes, but you're probably wearing headphones, or earbuds if you're gaming. And if for some reason you're not, the speakers on this laptop are really nice as well. If you have the funds, this laptop is absolutely worth it! And if you're worried like I was, buy the $30 annual best buy membership, order this, and try it for a couple months, if you don't like it, return it. In the end you lose nothing if you decide to keep it, because you get 1% back as points which is about $35 dollars. And if you return it, you lost $30 bucks, but now get a 60 day return policy. In conclusion. It's really nice, and I've been happy with it.
