Excellent laptop that gives you great performance, portability and build quality. The GPU is throttled to help keep heat down, laptop thin and better battery life. But in my usage, I'm getting 90-95% of the performance with a much more portable machine. Build quality is the best you can get in a laptop without going Mac. I have a Razer Blade 18" and MacBook Pro also, and find myself grabbing this one far more than the others.

Good performance , good build , good materials , windows sucks , its not as fast as bigger thicker laptops, when fans crank up they get loud. Doesnt bother me because of headset

This is a well built machine with great specs on paper. The issue is that you won't get to it's full potential, unless you delete all the bloatware including the conflicting apps. What I mean by that is there are multiple apps regulating the power and the temperatures, like Amaury Crate, MyAsus App, Windows own power management. And they are fighting each other, trying to set the thermal limits, power limits. and so on. When I set my screen shutoff time, my settings were gone the next day. After deleting about 60 apps of bloatware incl. MyAsus and Amaury Crate, after disabling them in the registry and installing G-Helper everything was much smoother. I had to create a custom profile reducing the PL1 power limit, and finally the thermal throttling stopped and I was able to use Davinci Resolve, Handbrake... Only after that I was able to get to the potential of this laptop. Since I want to use it as a content creator I needed more storage. It was very difficult to remove the bottom of the laptop because it was sitting very sturdy and firm. Once open there was only 1 additional NVME card slot. What I did was to clone the C drive and to replace it with a much faster 4TB Samsung 990 EVO PLUS and I installed a 4TB Samsung 990 Pro in the other slot. Now with my 8TB installed it works like a charm

I've purchased so many products from Best Buy for the past few years and this laptop has caused so many issues towards my experience and view of this company. This is going to be an in-depth review from my purspective and how the repair team has treated me as well over the past three weeks. First, looking at the specs of this laptop, I was excited to finally have a device that I've worked hard to obtain. Fixing my life and working towards my Masters degree. This was supposed to be a reward for all the hard work I've put myself through and so far, it feels like a burden. About two ago, I had to swap out this same laptop because I was experiencing issues with my first laptop that Best Buy provided (this exact laptop). They provided me an exchange because it was still under the return timeframe, so the GeekSquad professional helped me submit my request to swap out my unit. Since it is such an expensive device, a new one was mailed to me. This leads to this laptop and, two months later, issues have arised as well. The whole right-side of the touchpad stopped working, so I was a bit upset about this and took the laptop in for repair. The new Geeksquad rep told me that I would need to schedule an appointment. I do so and they said it was a faulty touchpad and would need to be replaced. I understood because I work on computers, servers, and other hardware almost every day and agreed with his request to mail in the laptop. This leads to my experience at this point. Once the device was mailed in, it was supposed to show me details under the Best Buy app and website about the progress, but I can't see anything from either explaining where my $5000-$6000 laptop is. Every time I call in for assistance, the reps tell me they cannot see wherre the laptop is and has been mailed to ASUS. I was highly skeptical about this response and asked for an RMA number or some type of ticket that ASUS would have potentially provided. They said they cannot provide thjis information because they do not have it. Now, keep in mind, how can you not have a RMA number for a laptop that you just informed me has been mailed to another company for repair, since Best Buy was supposed to take responsbiliy fixing it themselves. With all this said, I cannot recommend this laptop. On top of all of this, I cannot recommend buying it from Best Buy either. Make sure to buy it from a company that will provide the correct assistance to fix your problems in a timely manner. I will make sure this is posted on my social media and Reddit to make sure others don't purchase this laptop and to inform them about the experience I had. Again, please keep in mind, I'm a very, extremely patient individual. I waited for two weeks, not knowing any information on my laptop at all other than a tracking number showing it was mailed to another state in the USA at some point. Again, I cannot recommend this product or any other product based on my experience.

Do not buy open box units! mine was shipped without one of the cardboard holders that is meant for shipping inside the outer box. BestBuy did not package it correctly and it shipped over 2500 miles. it was damaged when it arrived and it was supposed to be Excellent condition. They also had no customer service helping with the issue, my time is constantly being wasted here. BestBuy is not looking out for you!!!
