tl;dr - good choice when I upgraded to 1.2 Gig plan This replaced an Asus RT-AX5400 (when I was on an 800 Mg plan) because I needed both a modem and router with a 2.5G port to take advantage of the higher speed. Though it isn't tri-band (and the range of the extra band is so short that you need to be in the same room as the router to use it), it does work well with Asus AiMesh (I have Asus Zen XD5 nodes connected via ethernet). Mesh is the way to go for better wifi coverage and minimizing (if not eliminating) dead spots While I don't have Wifi7 devices, I no longer have disconnects with some 2.4 Ghz devices (Ring chimes), While minor, it still was a hassle to reboot them every few days The rare issue is that the router is connected via ethernet to an old Intel Mac Mini running obsolete MacOS Sierra (10.12.6). Initially, it would connect, then disconnect rapidly so I couldn't access the internet. After making some changes in the network preferences, this hasn't been an issue so far). At worst, a reboot of the Mac does the trick For geeks only - the router software is terrific. I prefer using the web to manage but the app is ok if you just want to check speed, number of devices connected, which node they're connected to, etc. While some of the options are easy to figure out (initial setup, network map, setting up nodes and AiMesh, and terrific security via AiProtection), it's also easy to select an option that'll require a reset of the router to start over Overall, I recommend this router, especially if you have some basic geek skills and might consider upgrading to Gig internet speeds and Asus Mesh networking

Very easy to setup, run in app and it also looks amazing! I’m wanting to get another for the ai mesh system in my house now that I have fiber internet. I would highly recommend this router!!

Was having an issue connecting our tvs and my wife’s phone to the wifi. Was looking for a 6E router and found this WiFi 7 for cheeper. It’s been going for about 3 months without a hiccup. Runs both our gaming pc without issues and set up was easy with their app. Overall can’t recommend this router enough.

Slowwwww I'm waiting forever for downloads. for my game. Same download that took seconds with my old router threw TDS. I've even had some streaming glitches where the talking is miss match with the sound. I thought this would work well with my fiber internet. Its to late to return it now I live about an hour away from Best Buy.

+ Old router died. Chose ASUS as a replacement based on my experience setting up ASUS routers for others + Easy to configure + Like the abundance of features (traffic analyzer, network map/client list, separate guest network and IoT network, flexible firewall, QoS, several VPN options, etc...) - So far, the OpenVPN and Wireguard VPN do not appear to work for my particular need; accessing security cameras remotely from an Android phone. (Error messages in the camera app on the phone say "VPN unstable"). Used to use L2/IPSec VPN with previous router and never had any stability issues. But Android stopped supporting L2/IPSec VPN's. - Now using a workaround for remote camera access that does not involve port forwarding / opening ports to the WAN. So the VPN stability issue with the camera app is no longer a deal breaker.

Works like you want it to work! No issues. Easy to set up. Great signal strength and great range.

I bought this to replace my very old ASUS router that finally bit the dust. I want to be able to manage the unit myself through the web interface instead of the very intrusive Spectrum app with their router! It’s been a while, but it all came back to me as I was configuring it! Wi-Fi works great with the streamers on my TV, two phones and an iPad, plus an ethernet connection to the computer. Good signal strength throughout the condo on both speeds!

Bought a modem/router combo to replace an even older one that no longer supports our internet speed and WiFi would always drop. I also noticed an increase in the time it takes for the speed to ramp up. Decided to get a router instead and use the modem/router combo in bridge mode. Set up was easy and the UI has a modern design. Probably because I had used mid to low range range models but making changes and getting into the router only takes a few seconds. Previous modem takes at least 15 seconds for a simple password update. WiFi speed is much closer to our wired speed. There are no more drops and slow ramp up speed as well. The speed at range is a huge improvement for us, we get 80-90% speed at 15-30 feet, and 25%-35% at 40-50 feet.

Connectivity is pretty good and the data throughput speed is better than I expected. The setup is a bit more difficult than I expected, but I was able to figure it out. Range is great and getting connected to it was easy enough after I configured it.

The RT-BE3600 has been a great upgrade. Setup was straightforward, the interface gives you plenty of control without being overly complicated, and the Wi-Fi connection has been fast and stable throughout the house. I especially like getting Wi-Fi 7 technology at a reasonable price. Devices connect quickly, coverage is solid, and performance remains consistent when multiple devices are online. A very good choice for anyone looking to upgrade their home network without spending a fortune.

I recently acquired the ASUS RT-BE3600 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router, and it has truly exceeded my expectations. The set up was so easy; ASUS really nailed it! The user interface is so smooth and user friendly that it almost makes it impossible to miss/ignore anything as setting the features up is extremely intuitive even if novices to networking. However, the thing that really made this router stand out is their advanced traffic prioritization modes. The ability to set bandwidth limits for specific devices to designate them dedicated, undisturbed connections, like for my gaming console or to specifically allow a streaming series to play uninterrupted, has completely improved the effectiveness of my home internet network! And I can't forget to mention the benefits of using any of the latest generation Wi-Fi 7 enhancements - it's pretty insane how seamless the online experience is now (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED).

This replaced my RT-AX3000 V2, Great product to add on with the new GT-98Pro. The ax3000 had stopped working in an ASUS only way, it would no longer connect to or as an AI node. Being under warranty Best Buy swapped me out with an upgrade. While this seems nice, it was only after 45 minutes of the GEEK SQUAD tech talking to management about how to handle an ASUS 3 year manufacturer warranty when the product is not available to buy from the store. Now that’s not a lot of time but this sort of thing should not be something that “needs figuring out”. 5 stars for the product 1 star for Best Buy not having a standardized way to handle this situation from any manufacturer.

Easy to set up works good. Range is good. Zoom working alot better no more getting kicked off multiple times.

I purchased online and picked up in store. It was a breeze dealing with BestBuy River Gate. Setup was a piece of cake. So far, it has worked flawlessly!

Set up got a bit complicated and required a bit of trouble shooting but connection has been rock solid and speeds have been a massive upgrade over my out dated wifi 5 router than I didn't even realize was so out dated

Good range, easy setup, lots of features. Don’t place 2ghz devices too close, can overwhelm the sensitive receiver of unit. Seems very stable.

Installed with zero issues in less than 15 minutes. Typical ASUS quality. Already engineered for next level of Wi-Fi when it is released. My Wi-Fi signal improved in several locations that previously were dead zones.

ASUS quality, great coverage, proper WiFi 7. I've owned ASUS router products for a few years, so I am a bad judge of setup, since this has the interface I've been used to for a long while. I found this covered an area where I used to use a two part mesh WiFi 6.

Quick and easy setup! It works great! I had major issues with my previous router but not any longer!

I picked this up for the WiFi 7 compatibility, but learned that many of my older devices were severely hamstrung by it, including a laser printer that wouldn't work via WiFi 7. Fortunately, you can set up a guest WiFi network with backwards compatibility to work around it. Make sure to update all network drivers before installing the router, though, to ensure the process is smooth. Performance is outstanding, so I won't take any stars off for the WiFi 7 compatibility, as that's not the fault of the product.
