THIS REVIEW IS FOR ASUS TUF DASH F15 (2022) If you want a barebones powerhouse at a fair cost this may be an amazing buy. I purchased this at 999 usd, would rate 3 stars if purchased at full price ($1500 usd). Pros: lightweight without feeling cheap, portable (thin), 3070 graphics card, 12th Gen i7 CPU, ddr5 RAM, affordable Cons: gets HOT. If you play games in bed, your system will likely be consistently over 90 degrees Celsius if you’re running something somewhat demanding (even with fans howlin) Display/ panel: has trouble transitioning between different greys/ blacks (huge issue for me), colors are fine but don’t pop, 144hz refresh rate is good but not great, screen doesn’t get very bright Webcam is meh (720p), no RGB keyboard (if you care), battery dies faster than other laptops (3070 draws lots of power, laptop doesn’t hold much charge relative to some other gaming laptops) mw2 benchmark: 99 avg fps with some cpu bottleneck at (almost) max settings.. Used nvidia’s “optimized” settings, (not quite as close to maxed settings as 1st benchmark) Avg 100fps, no bottleneck, Summary: while this all-business, no-frills gaming laptop does have a 3070 graphics card and 12th Gen i7 processor at a great price, it isn’t designed well enough to experience its full potential. A competitor had a similar laptop on sale for the same price ($999 usd), with a 3060 gpu, 165hz, and liquid metal to help cool the cpu. It benches about 8 avg fps slower than the ASUS TUF DASH F15, both running the same settings, BUT its cpu consistently stays around 10-14 degrees Celsius cooler. For me, a few extra frames isn’t worth the headache/ stress of knowing I’m cooking my cpu. This laptop would probably benefit significantly from undervolting. TLDR; Not much to look at but gets the job done. Buy it on sale and see if you like it.

I’ve had this laptop for 9 months now and I can confidently say it’s the smoothest and most reliable laptop I’ve worked with yet. The Great: - I can run a lot of high level games no problem averaging minimum 60fps and it doesn’t get too hot either, with the heat getting distributed well and away from most keyboard keys. - I can develop games with ease both on Unreal and Unity alike without ever worrying about things crashing. - The VRam is high enough that I also have no issues editing videos or 3D modeling in 3DS max. - Softwares and games download very quickly. - The screen has little to no backlight bleed. - The fan can get quite loud on Turbo mode, doesn’t get too loud on Performance mode, and is practically inaudible on Silent mode. - Even when running photoshop on Silent mode the device doesn’t get hot. - The design is absolutely what I was looking for when buying a gaming laptop and doesn’t have that cringy gamer look while still having nice gaming elements like the white WASD key. The Not So Great: - The low built-in storage amount can get eaten up quite quickly considering the games I have/make so that is my only gripe which can be solved with external SSDs so it’s not the biggest issue. - The screen colors are definitely not the most accurate or brightest and makes working with photoshop a little hard. - Sometimes I wish there were more usb ports, but at least it has a good mix of USB-A to USB-C - The device is quite heavy and I do complain sometimes of my back hurting from carrying it all day for college. Overall I definitely found the pros outweighing the cons especially considering the price it’s listed for.

I have been using this laptop for a week now. So far, everything works flawlessly. Battery drains fast, but this is a gaming laptop with an RTX3070 GPU, so it is acceptable. Can achieve maximum power of the laptop when working while plugged in using the 200W charger. I had no problem modelling in Blender and Unity even with just the batttery. Works, flawlessly with Oculus Quest 2 via airlink, have not tried using cable yet. Can handle VR graphics better than my other laptop with RTX3060. Also I was also able to verify that it can be charged quickly with a Chromebook 65W USB-C Power Delivery charger. I love this computer. Rendering lights and reflections in Unity is a breeze. I was able to easily add another M.2. SSD and it seems to work with 4 x 4. I am getting a read speed of 6k+. Portability is great. It is so light yet powerful.
