Dell notebook with older b/g/n WiFi, with Windows 10 installed. Ookla Speedtest and Google’s speedtest both struggled to achieve much more than a couple of (2-3) Mbps download results. I plugged the adapter into a USB slot, Windows installed the device with little fanfare, yay. Looking at Device Manager I could see the new adapter under networking. I jumped over to the notifications area on the task bar, clicked on my WiFi icon, selected my WiFi network (802.11AC). Again, connected without issue. Disabled the old Dell b/g/n adapter n Device Manager. Re-ran speed test again and no getting results consistently 100-200 Mbps (using 802.11 AC router and 250 Mbps internet access). Windows Task Manager > Performance tab showed CPU never went above 60 percent utilization, 4 of 8 GB RAM use, and networking showing similar or higher throughputs than speed tests. Outlook, Firefox with multiple tabs, 2 PDFs, several word docs, folders, and more all open during test.

The ASUS - Dual-Band AC1200 USB Network Adapter works like a charm. I get around 200mbs while on a device that has wifi integrated in gets around 250mbs. It’s ease of use is perfect for when I’m on the go too because it’s small form factor I can keep it in my backpack and plug it in to any devices that may be broken. Although I’m getting around 50mbs slower than the integrated wifi chip installed on devices it doesn’t impact my performance too heavily. In games I’ll usually get around 15 ping which is around the same with other devices if not more. But because of the limitation with the speed and how it might impact other people more than me I had to give it 4 stars. But I recommend this to anyone who has a very slow internet connection on one specific device or when one of there devices only supports Ethernet.

Honestly, I was very surprised with this little guy, I have had bad luck with these kind of WiFi chips in the past, but this one works flawlessly. It was incredibly easy to set up, and has amazing connection, I hardly lag at all if ever. Overall, extremely impressed with the connectivity and ease of this product. In the photo, it’s plugged into the top USB slot on my PC. That’s how small it is!

My Skytech PC has a bad wifi card, and this thing did the trick immediately. I get super high speeds now. It was also super easy to set up, just make sure to restart once everhthing is installed.

Bought this for my PC not knowing if it would work, since I have always used cable. Followed instructions, was up and running in a matter of minutes! I am over 70, so if I can do it anyone can. Works great.

This is an awesome little network adaptor!! Turned my Lenovo laptop into a 5G network and the network adaptor is practically invisible! It is that small! Works perfectly at home and at my work,which is a very large shop area. I carry my laptop back and forth to work and the network adaptor is untouched in my carry case.

I have been very happy with my Asus gaming laptop for the three years or so that I've owned it. I'm not a gamer, but it has served me well for the many graphics applications I use regularly. The one shortcoming the Asus has is that it is limited to 2.4GhZ wireless. I did not know how much of a limitation this was until I upgraded my office internet service to 150 mb. I was disapplointed to find htat my throughput was just 40 mb The tech who installed the service told me I should look into an adapter to up the wifi speed. I bought the Asus unit because I've been so happy with this computer. It was more expensive than others I have seen, but I wanted to be sure it would work properly. Imagine my surprise (and delight) when I ran speedtest and pegged the needle at about 160 mb. It's like having a brand new laptop. Totally happy with this very small unit--the dongle just protrudes about 1/4" from the case of the computer. Works perfectly.

I am very pleased with this amazing purchase. My router is not close to my newly built pc, so I was not able to run an overwhelming long wire throughout my house. Luckily, this wifi adapter helped me to get wifi from my pc. I am thrilled to be able to run high end games from my pc with this great invention.

Very Good Wifi! I Could change out my wifi card because of HP Using their HP Screws. Very Good Both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz 2x2 MU-MIMO. Great With ASUS RT-AC88U.

Highly reliable USB network adapter! I purchased four of these for my computers since they lack built-in Wi-Fi. This saved me a significant amount compared to alternatives on Amazon. I highly recommend it as the connection speeds are excellent, especially considering the affordable price of only $40!

I bought this product: ASUS - Dual-Band AC1700 USB Network Adapter - Black. I was hired by a customer Sarah C. who found me on an IT Contractor Worker Platform. I responded back to her met her at her house a few days later. After being at her house a short time I resolved her neglected laptop issues.Next she said she had a Desktop that she uses for work which was listed on my work order and explained to her that since her desk was built to use LAN not WiFi but told her that I know a trick to convert her Desktop into a wireless machine at a very low price and when she asked how much? I told her ruffly $40-$50 and she said if I could pick it up and install it she would pay me for it. I was able to get her SSID and installed it, connected to her desktop to Spectrum WiFI, changed her New Spectrum WiFi router SSID and her desktop was connected just like her laptop does. Walls!

These WiFi adapters have saved my bacon on several occasions when I flat ran out of network jacks and had to add "just one more" computer to a given location or in one case where I had to put a wall-mounted system into a lab with no jack at all. Installation is a breeze and I have had zero issues with any of the ones that I have installed in our various locations.

Works great, I really didn't need it because I already had one, but of another brand, my laptop, my desktop and dual monitors are all Asus, so decided to get this one. It was easy to install and works good.

works great even if the wifi router is across the house, easy to set up too, and fast connection for older windows computers (i used it on a windows 7)

Plugged it in and its been working for almost a year now Havent had any problems hooking a desk top to wifi.

The best! Very useful if the computer does not have a built-in WiFi device.
