Heads up: older printers and some software may lose features. This ASUS laptop uses a newer ARM64 processor/architecture, and Windows on ARM cannot install older x64 printer/scanner drivers. Best Buy and ASUS don’t mention this, so it’s worth asking before you buy. My HP 8600 printer (x64‑only) can still print using a basic driverless mode (IPP), but my scanner does not work at all on this laptop. I had to keep my old computer just to scan documents. If you rely on an older all‑in‑one printer, be aware that printing may be limited and scanning won’t work. Also be aware that because this laptop uses ARM64 instead of the usual x64, transferring my data and apps from my old computer was much harder than expected. Some older software and migration tools don’t work on ARM64, so setup took a lot longer than it normally would. The laptop itself is good, but the ARM64 compatibility limitations were a major and unexpected headache. On the positive side, the white keyboard letters are etched and backlit, so they won’t rub off — a nice touch for long‑term use. I’ve worn letters off keyboards before, so this matters. Port selection is good too: 2 USB‑C ports, HDMI, and a combo headphone/mic jack on the left, plus 1 USB‑A port on the right, so connecting accessories is easy without needing extra adapters. Bottom line: If I had known this was an ARM64 system, I would have chosen an x64 model instead. ARM64 didn’t offer any real benefit for my needs, and the compatibility issues outweighed the positives. ARM laptops are cheaper to manufacture but that's not focused on improved consumer-usability. X64 is still the standard.
