My new Channel Master DVR is amazing. But, in order to have the slimmest case (Amazingly thin!) it utilized a mini-toslink to full size Toslink for my Home Theater Audio. The "Audioquest Mini Adaptor" did the trick and works well, too. The most interesting aspect of this is that few people carry these gems. Only one Best Buy in Phoenix (Glendale Arrow Head) did, and they keep them in the back. (Shh...)

Great product and works great with the Audioquest Fiber Toslink Optical Cable.

I was looking for optical cable for Chromecast Audio. Best Buy doesn't sell one with one side compatible with Chromecast Audio and other side compatible with receivers and integrated amps. However the rep pointed me to this small optical cable adapter displayed at Magnolia section. It's perfect for that purpose which allows me to use my existing optical cable as well. It made Chromecast Audio sound better by delegating the digital to analog conversion to the receiver as Chromecast has inferior DAC compared to most late model receiver DACs. Big improvement compared to using analog output from Chromecast Audio - making it a true Sonos contender from sound quality perspective.

This product was recommended to me to purchase for use with my home stereo system. What I was not told is that this adapter CANNOT and WILL NOT work on any system that does not use digital audio signals. I was wanting to convert the optical signal from my 4K tv to my stereo aux port so I could get sound from my stereo instead of my TV. It was not explained to me prior to purchase that this adapter would not convert the audio into a signal my stereo could read. I have an analog system instead of a digital system. For someone who didn't really know much about digital audio conversion and if it could even be converted, this should have been explained. For someone who has a media source that accepts digital audio and they want to use the aux port on the system, I know this would work fine.

This review applies to both Best Buy Service and the product. I purchased an Airport Express with Digital Optical for sound quality. The instructions were not clear an adaptor was required, i was looking for a whole cable, for days online. I went to my local Best Buy Store. It took a less than 5 minutes for the associate in Home Theatre to figure out what I needed. It does the thick. Thanks Best Buy! Great service yet again

This easy plug and play accessory easily convert optical audio input into older model standard headphone jack. Very easy to use and little to no distortion and sound quality.

Good quality and comes in handy when you need one which isn’t often these days.

I could not figure out how to get my current subwoffer to play. I bought it from best buy because I loved the sound. After hours of trying to get the cable to fit I called the geek squad and they told me I needed a Toslink adapter. My sound is clear and I think it sounds better in my home then a best buy.

I originally purchased a cheaper Toslink-to-3.5mm mini optical adapter for my HTPC running XBMC to connect to our 5.1 surround system. You get what you pay for sometimes. The cheaper adapter would not stay connected to the end of my Toslink cables. With the slightest bump to the cable the adapter would pop off and kill the audio. This AudioQuest adapter stays put. There is a very positive snap when the adapter is put on the cable and it will not come off until you want to remove it from the cable. It stays plugged into the mac mini as well and won't accidentally come unplugged.

but price is ok. AudioQuest mini optical cables seem better built. I have a Cinnamon Mini-to-Toslink optical, and it seems to sit/fit better. However, this is a cheap fix, and very decently made.

Needed an adapter for Toslink to mini-Toslink for an old MacBook Pro to output audio to a surround system. This was in the Magnolia section and was exactly what I needed.

I got this optical to 3.5mm so I could play music with higher fidelity than a standard 3.5, and the result was yes it really does sound a lot better, the sound stage and airiness of the overall sound is much better. My only gripe with this product is that I can only use this with my computer and cannot be used with phones or tablets

I had originally bought a cheap one on amazon. When I connected my toslink to the amazon one, it would slip out. The audioquest adapter holds the toslink securely. Teh cable snaps right in.

A really convenient option for newer TVs that don’t have an optical port

I purchased this adapter at the same time I purchased my Chromecast audio. I liked the benefit of using the toslink to toslink connection. I am happy with my purchase.

I have an Amazon speaker which does not have a mini optical adapter. I plugged this in and I couldn't be happier.

I am planning to use this with Google chromecast audio in my car. I don't know we have a converter like this until I saw this.

This adapter is the perfect mate to connect a Toslink cable to the 3.5mm audio/optical output jack on the Apple Airport Express, which can then transmit a reasonably high fidelity streaming audio signal via a DAC to a stereo audio amplifier.

Perfect fit! Need to extend and it worked perfect.

Always trust AudioQuest products. Got this for Google Chromcast Audio output to my DAC. Works great. Sounds much better than just the audio out from the Cast, just make sure you use a better quality DAC.
