Do you love battlefield? Well guess what! You're going to be disappointed. Bf2042 leaves behind any kind of class system and single player campaign for call of duty-esque "specialists" (and of course no war stories). The game is plagued with frame drops, has no adaptive trigger support, and absolutely no sense of teamwork. If you're a call of duty fanboy then you kight enjoy this, because it's basically just infinite warfare on a MASSIVE scale. Among other issues there is no voice chat support, no proper scoreboard like in literally every other fps, next to no world destruction (a battlefield staple), no sense of warfare, have to turn headset volume all the way up to even hear enemy tanks, and worst of all no class system. Literally everyone in these 64v64 matches are any of 8 specialists. You're better off buying a ball of rubberbands and throwing that against the wall for entertainment rather than this dumpster fire that calls itself a battlefield game.

This game is in the category for the best all around war game. It is up there with Call of Duty. My parents have played with me and they both are playing more than me now.

Overall not the best game I’ve ever played. Battlefield 1 was and still is the best in the series.

Luckily I paid a little over $6 for this. In the beginning the game was unplayable, servers were constantly crashing, couldn't connect to matches with my friends... basically very buggy. But slowly and surely with more updates the game is now a lot better but still not as good as previous battlefield versions (in my opinion). If you can get it for less than $10 I definitely would recommend it

This game delivers an exhilarating and immersive multiplayer experience that is sure to satisfy fans of the franchise and newcomers alike. While the absence of a traditional single-player campaign may disappoint some, the game more than makes up for it with its stunning visuals, intense gameplay, and ambitious approach to multiplayer warfare. If you're looking for a thrilling and action-packed shooter to sink your teeth into, Battlefield 2042 is well worth considering.

The trailer made this game look epic, but upon playing the beta and then a weeks after release, the real-user count dropped off significantly. Many bugs were (and still) are present in gameplay, no voice chat for an online-only game. No single player. The operators approach isn't what the Battlefield franchise was all about, but they gave it a shot this time around. Basically you'll encounter turrets and rocket launchers galore when trying to push an objective. Forget stealth, as everyone runs proximity detectors and recon drones. No XP progression in Portal mode, and inflated counts to get your T1 mastery in vehicles, weapons, operators. Playing with friends is always fun, but when the opposition is all AI, it feels lackluster. Wait for a deep discount and tread cautiously with this money grab disguised as a game.

I think this game is only going to get better. I heard the launch was terrible but its coming to gamepass soon so i think EA will make up for the disappointing launch in the next year. Its fun

It’s a very fun game. Yes there are a lot of bugs but I mostly bought it because it was half price off. Will be playing it more once the bugs and glitches get fixed. But as is right now it is still fun.

Great multilayer game with different game modes and good looking, smooth grafics. I wish it had a single player aspect to the game but it is still fun.

Got this game preorded by my wife for our anniversary, and initially i was excited to get my hands on the new Battlefield game, but the game is incredibly lackluster. The game experiences plenty of glitches and much different gameplay, than previous battlefield titles. If you were lookong for a true sequel to BF4 then this isnt wjat you're looking for. The game is too cartoonish and is more concerned about "looking cool" than being fun. Many of the elements just copy trends in other first person shooters over the past few years, mainly call of duty and apex legends. The increased player count just makes game far too hectic, and completrly ruins what was once a beloved franchise. Skip this title, and if you do buy it buy it used

In its beginnings more than a year ago this game did not go well but today it is the best game of this 5-star franchise

Review as of August 2022, but played since day 1. Game released broken, with barely any content, with stupid design choices, lack of basic features and with lack of any true combat atmosphere, especially with stupid quotes “that was fun” after matches etc Luckily, DICE fixed a billion of bugs, added more content, and are re-working the style of the presentation to make a game more serious etc. this is a really good and fun game now, unfortunately, today it is in the state, which it should’ve been in on a release day, and by now, we should’ve received a lot more new content for it. I am giving it 5 stars only because of my love for the franchise and the state of the game as if one buys it today for 20-40 bucks, not at a $70 game when it was released back when and broken

Overall the game is pretty good. Not as good as some of the older ones, but still a lot of fun. If you want to play with ps4 users and you have a ps5, do not buy the ps5 standard disc version. It will not play with ps4 users. The digital version on psn plays both platforms. Best buy would not return it because i had already opened it. Other than that, i plan to see how good the game gets. My 1 star on the ease of use is because there was no warning at all about the cross platform gaming.
