This thing is awesome !!! I use it mostly for my Steam Deck while i travel for work and i have yet to find a tv that it isnt compatible with. I even tried it on an 85 inch samsung and it worked amazingly. The best part is you can charge your device while emitting an hdmi signal from it . I havent seen any delay or pixel issues this connector is a must have , and if your phone allows it you can play/Watch and stream with just this little magical device. I highly recommend! Just make sure you have an hdmi cable 5 to 10 feet long , it completely eliminates the need for an expensive docking station for my steam deck.

This usb c to hdmi cable is excellent. I use it on a 2016 Macbook pro to share the display to an external monitor with wireless keyboard and mouse. It allows you to charge your computer and share HDMI feed through just one us-c port.

This is a very solid cable which is well built and gets the job done. I needed a cable which would be able to display material from my MacBook to my Sony TV and it did the job flawlessly.

>> Summary Overall, a convenient way to expand your mobile device with a bigger screen where wireless connectivity is not available (or not desired). You can expand your USB-C laptop with a 4k screen, and you can expand your phones to a 4k screen while also being able to charge them. - Favorable: video quality as promised, at 4k resolution video looks outstanding (well depending also on the device graphics capabilities). Charging option for your phone a plus. - Not-so-favorable: this is no inherently to the device, but your mobile device should be able to output HDMI through USB-C. >> One setup/configuration ideal for this device After trying different scenarios/configurations, I see that one that would use the full features of the Belkin USB-C to HDMI/Charge is when the user uses their phone as the primary mobile device (i.e. phone dependent person) and wants to see some of their favorite shows while doing something else. For example, my wife usually follows cooking shows on her cell phone in the kitchen while doing pastries and others, and sometimes wishes she had a bigger screen phone; then the Belkin USB-C to HDMI/Charger came to the rescue, now she can have a TV near the counter (or anywhere in the kitchen) and she can follow her shows on the bigger screen and also is able to respond to her messages on her phone without running out of battery (by connecting to a power source). >> Devices tried I tried the Belkin device with multiple portable USB-C devices: - Surface Tablet: I tried video capabilities using a 4k monitor, video quality just outstanding. - Huawei P20: I tried video and charging capabilities with a 4K TV. The Belkin ended up as the perfect peripheral for the Huawei P20, the picture quality delivered was great, audio outstanding, charging with no issues, and software support just perfect. I could use the control pad to control the screen, or I could be using other apps in the small phone screen while there would be video showing on the bigger screen (very neat). - Lumia 950XL (yes a Windows Phone): I tried video and charging using a 4k monitor and 4k TV. Video looked as good as the source device would produce, so it wasn’t that great the end result on the 4k screens, but still a great improvement to have a bigger surface. though. Charging didn’t work as expected, I had to have the power connected and then restart the Lumia for it to start charging, otherwise it wouldn’t charge. - Sony Experia XZ2: wouldn’t work at all, it wouldn’t charge nor would output any video. There was no way to change the settings, even updating to the latest Android version and updating the Sony software. Then I learnt that it cannot output HDMI from the USB-C, so the Belkin USB-C to HDMI/Charger was useless for the device (or vice-versa). >> Not-tested The device is said to be Thunderbolt 3 compatible. I haven’t tested that capability as I don’t own devices with such ports.

New devices are getting slimmer and more streamlined but sometimes that means that we are losing some of the ports that we might need. One of these ports that many of the ultra-books out on the market seem to be doing without is the HDMI or VGA ports. The VGA is something that is not super required now, but HDMI is still something that comes in handy when you are trying to make the most out of a home office supported by your laptop. This adapter does a great job of giving me that added HDMI port from the USB-C port on my laptop. It allows me to connect to an external monitor at home, and my projector once we can return to our office setting. I like that it still allows you to plug in a USB-C charger if your device supports it. This comes in handy when your device has limited USB-C ports. A simple, effective adapter that helps to extend my digital workspace. The only thing that I would add is that this adapter supports up to 60Hz refresh rate so if your device and monitor support higher, just keep this in mind. The refresh rate should not affect most folks just looking at doing some work in email, MS Office, or web browsers. An easy recommendation for anyone looking for a simple USB-C to HDMI adapter.

This dongle works as designed. I was able to connect it to the USB-C port on my Samsung Galaxy S10 phone, 10-inch Galaxy S4 tablet, and 15-inch Dell laptop (see pics). With the use of an HDMI cable (not included), I was able to display all three devices on my TV. And because the dongle has an additional USB-C port for charging, I was able to charge the device while presenting. Charging is accomplished by using the charging adapter and USB-C cable that came with your device. So instead of plugging the cable directly into your device, you plug it into the dongle, then plug the dongle into your device. There are plenty of after market chargers out there that can be used to charge your devices, but keep in mind that the dongle allows up to 60-watts of power to pass through it. Meaning, it can easily keep your Andriod phone and iPhone charged, as well as an Andriod tablet and iPad, and many laptops that require 60 watts or fewer. The notable exceptions are the latest MacBook Pros laptops that come with an 87-watt charger, as well as power-hungry gaming PCs. While a 60-watt charger can charge a MacBook pro, it may not be enough to power it properly when in use. There is a chance that the device will continue to drain, albeit slower, if your running resource intensive programs. Still, it won’t stop you from using the dongle to output your display to an external monitor, TV, or projector. This is a quality accessory with the added bonus of powering your device up to 60-watts. On top of that, it can also handle 4K video. And just in case anyone is wondering, it cannot be used with a Nintendo Switch. It wasn’t designed for that. I tested it on my Switch just to double check, and the Switch wouldn’t recognize the dongle, therefor it didn’t send a video signal to my TV. The dongle was designed for laptop computers, tablets, and phones with a USB-C connection. Just make sure your device is designed to output video through it’s USB-C connection.

Had very good previous experience with Belkin products and this adapter is as good as it gets. The adapter supports HDMI up to 4K x 60 Hz and USB-C power delivery (60 Watts). I'm using it on my work MacBook with Thunderbolt 3 connection, and I'm able to drive a 16:10 monitor with perfect image and sound while at the same time charging it (Using only one port on the computer). I also used it with a 4K TV, also with seamless results. The computer is able to detect the TV capabilities (resolution, size), i.e. EDID information, so the adapter is able to perform 2-way communications. Power delivery works with up to 60 Watts. Also used it with a Dell PC that has an USB-C display port and worked jus fine with this adapter as well. It should also work with iPad Pros that have an USB-C connector for display out while charging. If I have to pick something on this is that it's shell is shiny plastic which attracts fingerprints. Not a real issue. The adapter is well constructed, with a warranty from Belkin for 2 years.

I don’t know much about cords like these, but I do know that this particular item works quite well. I have not experienced any problems and I love how I can charge my device through the same cord while it’s being used. It was definitely worth the purchase.

I recently had the opportunity to use this product for connecting my Surface Pro to a TV via its HDMI connection. The experience was a seamless one. The connector was easy to set up and worked flawlessly from the get-go, making it effortless to use my Surface Pro with the larger screen. Not only was the physical connection straightforward, but the quality of the connection was also superb, providing a clear, steady signal without any discernible lag or loss of quality. This speaks to the excellent craftsmanship of the product and its capability to deliver a consistent high-performance output. Overall, I can wholeheartedly recommend this product for anyone in need of a reliable, high-quality connection solution for their Surface Pro and TV setup. It effortlessly bridges the gap between devices and ensures an enjoyable user experience.

I was hoping to use this to connect both USB and a monitor to a computer using just one cable (not including charging, as none of my three laptops support USB-C power). No luck. The ONLY use of this adapter is to output HDMI while charging over the same USB-C port -- for some devices. Hooking up something besides a power adapter to the included USB-C jack did not work -- not a flash drive, USB hub, or wireless mouse dongle; it was just ignored. I tried this device with three laptops. The HDMI out worked fine on an older HP Zbook (mobile workstation) with an Intel processor. When plugged into a new Dell G5 gaming laptop, the HDMI also worked great. But with a new ASUS ZenBook featuring a Ryzen 5, it did not work at all, just giving an error (see attached picture). So, if you don't want to use this to transfer USB data, just use HDMI and charging, and your device is compatible, then you might be happy. Otherwise, steer clear.
