Works pretty well for the local stations, I needed it to watch network TV football games. This is the second one I purchased one a year ago and they both work fine. This one is in the living room so it has trouble getting one station (there are a lot of trees in my neighborhood) but the one in the family pulls that station in fine. I get ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, CW, and Fox plus several other stations. Between this and my Roku and Samsung TV, I only subscribe to one streaming service and I have everything I need.

Like others, I was worried that the antenna would not work well. Living in a 125 year old house with lots of brick, stone, and plumbing and radiator pipes in the walls, AND not being able to place the unit by a window; in a neighborhood with lots of trees; and the urban center between me and the tower 9 miles away; the antenna picked up 95 channels! Of course, I won't watch them all. And some come through Audio only for some reason, but for the major networks plus PBS, I am more than satisfied! PROS: * easy installation * reversible colors * works well for me * easy to configure with Harmony remote and hub (why of why did Logitech kill it?) CONS: * Antenna/power cable is white and stands out if you want the black side exposed * 8 feet cable is not quite long enough. Will need to extend it (not hard to do) * plastic stand is flimsy and is easily moved or knocked over But the PROS far outweigh the CONS, hence my 5* rating.

This new “thin film” antenna is not sturdy plastic like the one I bought a year ago. It is cardboard, or what the industry calls card stock. It works, but will it last? And how long before it gets bent and doesn’t work?

Super easy to set up and love that it comes with pins/double sided tape to attach to a wall or a mount to stand on its own. I haven’t had service cut out like I do with some of the other antennas I’ve purchased.

Hi Sara! Thanks for the detailed and thoughtful review! We’re so glad to hear the setup was a breeze and that the mounting options made it even more convenient. And consistent service without dropouts? That’s a huge win. Enjoy all the free channels with crystal-clear reception! |Angelica| Best Buy Essentials Products|

When I got my TV home and turned it on. The picture I was told I had to buy an upgraded antenna which I was told would improve the picture. they sold me cheap junk and a Best buy brand at that. And it did nothing to improve reception or the picture. Another rip off. . And this is a a TV with an MSRP of well over 2k you'd think it would have a better picture without having to buy external things. Then they told me to get a better picture I had to have cable. I DON'T WANT CABLE I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO have CABLE TO GET A GOOD PICTURE. I spent $1,400 on this TV... on sale !! Waaayyy too much this thing. It may be a five- $600 TV at best. A lower end model has a better quality picture. This thing is a visual nightmare... waste of hundreds of dollars... way overpriced. I don't know how other people could give it high ratings if they're watching the same TV I am they're getting comp'ed for their review. Mine is completely honest. Animated programs like cartoons look clear good and sharp but programs like Roseanne Matlock McGiver, Rockford files shows of that ilk ..and older movies you can hardly see details in faces and can't read the smaller words on screen on commercials. What the picture looks like heat waves like you're looking at the ground on a hot day, pixels - broken up picture blurry and fuzzy I can't stand looking at it. I've never seen anything like it. And this is supposed to be one of the higher end new technology TVs. My 15-year-old Samsung has a better picture than this 2025 . Now I'm stuck with an under functioning overpriced TV that isn't anything special. I would not buy this TV again. The picture quality is terrible. In store ..They don't show you real TV channels in store for a reason. What you are seeing is specialized video that show super clear pictures that you do not get at home... Unless your have cable. Watching cartoons or animated films is ok. I suppose if youre a gamer or have a little ones mostly watching cartoons and animated movies...you'd do okay. but if you want to watch TV movies sitcoms and enjoy a crisp sharp picture... Forget it Take your dose ibuprofen or acetaminophen before you try to watch. It'll give you a headache A $1400.00 waste of money. I'm telling you my 15-year-old Samsung LED TV is beautiful the picture is a thousand times better than the than the picture on the brand new 2025. OLED Tizen .. they are nothing but marketing. Whatever ridiculous rip off. I can't stand it. AND I've paid Best buy over $750 for installation to take down putting up a couple of different TVs and they best buy won't answer one simple question of how to get my soundbar to work at the same time the TV speakers work. only one or the other work. I want them to work together and they can work together but the place won't help me. and they they won't help unless I give them more money. Already spent well over 3,500 there since November 2025 and now they want me to buy more !! Some geek squad package for $250 to answer my single question. Well is that isn't how you get people to hate you, I don't know what else would.. And it works. This review is only allowing me to add one picture and it's crummy enough it's fuzzy it is not crystal clear. This is good compared to a lot of the other ones I had they were so incredibly bad. Pictures of a 1972 old school tube tv look better than this !! You can believe me when I tell you it's not worth it. I hate it. It's so bad you can barely see the outlines of faces, pixelated faces and bodies, there's heat Wave looking things going through the screen and lines going through the screen picture. If you get this TV anyway don't say that you weren't warned. You're honestly better off with an older model the new ones are all hype. there's noTHing special about them and the picture is not any better than the older LED models. The older models have a better picture than this. Don't be impressed by the pictures you see on the TV screens in store display.. Those are special videos they show you in the store made for display, made to look good.. however... that's not how the TV picture amwill appear at home. I'm being honest because I don't want you to wind up hating your TV. This is honest and pretty enraging. They won't help you if without you buying more. I can't say enough bad about them that would fully describe and be equal to how bad this TV is and worse Best buys customer service. Bad bad nighmare..That is all. You've been cautioned.

Wanted to try cutting the cable without spending a lot of money. This option was easy to install, the picture is great and there are so many channels! Saving money!

For the price, it’s give out wants expected. My tv picture fizzed out on a clear day, even when I tries to move it to a better location. Overall, it Is a good buy.

I’m shocked. After SEVERAL scans, this thing found ZERO channels. Like…ZERO! The instructions say to place it close to windows for better results, so i put it in a room with THREE windows! I guess I’ll be returning.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding the Best Buy essentials™ Amplified Ultra-Thin Indoor HDTV Antenna. We sincerely apologize for the experience you've had and understand how frustrating it can be to not receive any channels despite following the placement instructions.
Our antennas are designed to provide optimal reception under ideal conditions, but various factors can affect performance, including geographical location, nearby obstructions, and signal interference. We recommend trying a few adjustments to see if you can improve reception:
Placement: While windows are generally a good option, sometimes moving the antenna slightly higher or to a different window can help. Additionally, try placing it on a wall or near the ceiling to see if that enhances the signal.
Orientation: Experiment with the orientation of the antenna. Sometimes rotating it can make a difference in reception.
Rescanning: After making adjustments, ensure that you perform a fresh channel scan on your television to detect any new signals.
If you still encounter issues after trying these suggestions, we encourage you to reach out to our customer support team for further assistance. We're committed to ensuring that our products meet your expectations and appreciate your patience as you navigate this situation.
Thank you for choosing our product, and we hope to resolve this matter for you.

I picked up this antenna on a whim, hoping to cut some cable costs and still catch local channels—and honestly, I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Setup was super easy: just plug it in and let the channel scan do its thing. Within minutes, I had crystal-clear access to all the major networks and a handful of extras I didn’t expect. The 50-mile range seems accurate for my area, and the picture quality is sharp—even during bad weather. It’s super slim too, so I could tuck it behind the TV without it becoming an eyesore. If you’re looking to save money without sacrificing live TV, this antenna seriously delivers. Total win.

This antenna does a fairly good job of picking up most local channels. 80% of them are crystal clear and about 15% are a bit fuzzy but watchable, and maybe 5% won't come in at all. Overall, a great buy for under $25.

Finally decided to “cut the cord” after continuously rising cable bills. This antenna was super easy to install and works incredibly well. We are 40+ miles from the nearest station and get a huge number of channels. Highly recommending this to family, neighbors, and friends. Definitely a 12 out of 10.

I was under the impression that TV antennas were no longer able to be used with the current technology of TVs, so hadn't bothered looked into cancelling my basic cable--I just need a few stations to watch news occasionally, but generally just stream movies. I grilled the Best Buy employee with every question I had, & I left knowing it may be a crap shoot to get a decent picture without static, but since it would be about 3 feet from a large window I hoped for a clear signal. It took me awhile to figure out how to get it set up, but my Jr High grandsons came & set it up in 10 minutes! Once they did, the picture came in immediately & more clear than it had with cable. I also believe I get a lot more channels with the antenna than I was able with basic cable! I wish I had tried this sooner, but at least I'm now thrilled to be saving $60 a month!

Set up was very easy. Range is even better than expected though you need to make sure it has some elevation as just putting on the TV stand didn't get the job done for stations > 10 miles out. Picture comes in clear and steady though some issue with signal in stormy weather

We picked this up to use after deciding to cut the cord and also pare back our streaming subscriptions a bit. Picks up a bunch of channels over the air but on occasion the reception is a little finicky. Still happy with the purchase however.

Inexpensive and works very well. 2 items to improve, 1. The adhesive window tabs don’t work very well, just ordered some 3m double sided tape. Hope that works better. 2. The cords are short if your TV isn’t right next to a window. Other than that, Im able to get every channel in my area and I’m about 40 miles outside the city.
