A: This unit will turn on and off. It's not the best idea to use a hot plate that will turn on and off, you want consistent heat for a pressure cooker.
Q: Can i use it for a wok that have 40 lbs of weight ?
A: You would need more of a professional unit if you are going to use about 40 pounds of weight on top of it. I would not suggest going over 20 lbs on this unit.
