I just got a new surface pro 3 for work and one of the biggest draw backs is the lack of USB ports. To do certain parts of my job, I need 2 USB ports for USB dongles and a hardwired Ethernet port. I also need to utilize the display port with the appropriate adapter to output HDMI. I bought this adapter thinking it would solve my problem but the one thing they don't mention anywhere that I could see is that when plugged in, it blocks your display port which is RIDICULOUS. Just went back to Best Buy and bought the Belkin adapter for $10 more that has 3 USB 3.0 ports and the Ethernet port. Instead of a fixed USB on the adapter, it has a 3" pigtail that allows it to hang separately from the surface and allows me to use my display port. I would think twice before ordering this adapter.
