Started out great until one day the unit started burning the belt. Opened up to see why, and the bearings were rusted out, and the shaft wouldn't spin from the motor. The unit is just 5 months old. Called Bissell and because I took the cover off, this is not covered under warranty. Purchased in January and having to pay out of pocket to purchase a new jack shaft and repair myself. More frustrated than anything because there was nothing mentioned on the unit they would void the warranty if the cover was removed. Will not purchase another shampooer from them again!

The cleaning quality is superb. The steam followed up by the water suction is visible as the dirt is sucked up. The machine is a little heavy, but well worth the extra effort used to clean. So glad I purchased it!

We are extremely happy with the new HydroSteam carpet cleaner. Not only does it do a great job cleaning and not making my carpet overly wet, the suction is next to none. I've owned a number of home carpet cleaners over the years and this one tops ALL of them on the fluid extraction!

We recently replaced our old carpet cleaner after the motor that drives the rotating brush finally failed. Since we were in the middle of cleaning, we headed to Best Buy and picked up a Bissell Revolution HydroSteam based on its reviews and premium price point, expecting it to outperform our aging machine. Unfortunately, our experience has been disappointing. The first issue is minor but frustrating: the hose and accessory attachments do not store on the unit itself. Having to keep track of separate pieces feels inconvenient and makes it much more likely that parts will be misplaced over time. The much larger problem, however, is water extraction. After cleaning our first room, my wife immediately asked, “Are you sure it’s picking up any water at all? The carpet is still soaked.” I initially brushed off the concern because I could see water moving through the clear nozzle. However, after feeling the carpet myself, she was absolutely right. It was far wetter than I would expect after cleaning. Assuming I had done something wrong, I carefully reviewed the assembly and operating instructions and went over the room multiple additional times. Everything was set up correctly. Thankfully, we still had our old carpet cleaner, and when we ran it over the same area, it pulled up a surprising amount of additional water. A few days later, we tested the HydroSteam in another room, being careful not to oversaturate the carpet. We wanted to rule out the possibility that we had simply applied too much water during the first cleaning. Unfortunately, we experienced the exact same issue. While troubleshooting, I discovered that pressing down on the front of the machine dramatically improved extraction. Comparing it to our old cleaner, it appears that the HydroSteam’s design places most of its weight toward the rear of the unit, while the extraction nozzle sits level with the rest of the base. As a result, the machine seems to glide across the surface of the carpet instead of applying enough pressure to pull moisture from deeper within the fibers. To be clear, the HydroSteam seems to clean very well. However, a carpet cleaner that leaves the carpet excessively wet after multiple passes simply is not acceptable. Because of this, I will be returning it. What surprises me most is the lack of discussion around this issue. Based on my experience, this feels less like a defect with my particular unit and more like a fundamental design flaw that would affect every machine built this way.

I used this to clean my outdoor rug that stays exposed to the elements all year long. The carpet is at least three years old. This shampooer was able to restore it to almost new looking. I would definitely recommend!

It was easy to assemble the product, easy to use and areas cleaned looked and smelled better. Cleaning is easy - just follow the instructions provided. I highly recommend this product especially to people with pets.

This machine is a beast! Yes, the tanks are small - i got used to it. I see the steam while operating it, and it has great suction.

This is great carpet cleaning machine but like all self cleaning cleaners it’s limited to what it does.

I really like this Bissell steam carpet cleaner, very easy to use and to clean, I have had Bissell carpet cleaners be for this is the best

It wasn’t as good at removing stains as I thought. Also, the handheld attachment does not release steam. I thought it did, but apparently it does not and that is a big drawback because I need to steam when I clean my furniture.

I would rather use this cleaner than to pay for a commercial service.
