There were times in this difficult Souls-lite (sorry, yes, I said it - but I mean that in regards to its systems, not its quality, which is amazing) when I didn't think I could finish it. There were times, after getting whooped by certain too-tough bosses over and over, that I didn't even want to. But there were other times when I marveled at what an experience it was; the beautiful lands, the mythical bosses, enemies, and characters brought to life, and the wild and memorable cut scenes (including the between-chapter animated shorts). The Souls-like influence mostly ends with the game's vibe, difficulty, and general design. Progression is more about skills, gear, and specific stat boosts. You lose nothing when The Destined One dies; your real-life sanity, maybe. By the end, I did most side stuff, skipped two optional bosses, and beat the final boss on my second try. In summary, I recommend it, and it's a really great game, but it does have a tendency to kick your teeth in until you've found the best upgrades. Even then, with end-game gear and stats, a couple of the optional bosses are a nightmare.

I was fortunate enough that it came in on release day. Thank you Best Buy! I am happy to say that this is not a digital code in a box, I only had to do a small update on the game after it finally downloaded from the disc to my console. And it does come with the deluxe upgrade code inside the case. The game is a nice action adventure RPG. Very forgiving but you will die a lot. And gives you a lot lore to dine on. I am playing it on a 60 Hz 4K LED 55 television. I do like what I see but I do wish I had a nicer set up to fully enjoy the art and gameplay till it’s fullest. I can see why this particular game won at the awards last night. If you’re a fan of the devil may cry series and enjoy something that tells a story with lore. I highly recommend this game for you.

Great game! It's challenging but that's part of the fun in my opinion. Some bosses (there are many) are pretty irritating after losing to them multiple times, but when I finally beat them, it was a huge feeling of success. The music is great and matches what I'm doing in the game and it doesn't overwhelm the action. A very fun souls-like game which I think is a bit fairer than Dark Souls. Black Myth may be difficult, but I haven't run into something that is just in the game to "get" players. At least not in my opinion. Love the game, wanted the physical edition so I waited and I wish I'd played it sooner, but worth the wait. However, I have a complaint and it isn't with the game, but with FedEx who delivered the game to my home. The game case arrived factory sealed (new game, duh), but the lower right corner was damaged which doesn't let the game case securely close. This game was packaged along with a second game I ordered in the same envelope that was used. That second game is fine, Black Myth got damaged. The media envelope padding was pretty light and with FedEx being known to handle things roughly, it stinks that a brand new game was delivered looking used. It wouldn't have happened if I'd picked the game up in the store. I'm just happy its a corner and not more than that. The review for the game is the 5 stars, my review for FedEx shipping is definitely not that.

Awesome game, I'm nearing the halfway point and it sure is cool. Game looks incredible and plays so well. It's not an easy game and there's absolutely no settings (difficulty or accessibility) that make it any easier. Very rewarding to defeat tougher bosses and make progress in a game like this.

Game play was great! Game was brand new so it worked find. The story was amazing I played it in full about 3 times new game plus. Also when I bought the copy the container was cracked in the corner and I took it right into Best Buy and they replaced it with a new copy for me.

Not an easy game by any means but it’s so much fun to play, it’s hard at the start, but you get better the more you play

Ive seen this game played on PC, on the PS5 on performance mode it still brings the game to life. Beautiful visuals and smooth gameplay. The combat is very cinematic, nice refresh. Cant wait to dive deep into its chaos.

Fantastic game. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The game’s price is lower than it is at GameStop, so that was nice.

One of the best game. Graphically prettiest game I’ve played on PS5.
Would give 5 stars but the case was cut with a blade. I didnt notice it until I got home and I was like "oh well". The slice was covered with the sticker of my online order, which is why I didnt notice it.

Without a doubt it is the best game with souls like mechanics, a great graphic quality. Immersive gameplay... you can spend hours playing it.

Recommend this game if you like souls type of games. This game will challenge you not for the feint hearted, difficulty can be frustrated but the game overall is amazing combat and graphics.

The action and graphics look amazing. I’ve loved the Wukong story since I was a kid. My only complaint is that the game’s difficulty is quite high and requires a lot of “training” to become familiar with all the controls.
