If you’re considering the standalone unit, I’d strongly suggest looking at the speaker version instead. For a relatively small increase in price, you get the same core functionality built directly into a Bluetooth speaker. While the unit isn’t detachable from the speaker, the speaker itself is magnetic, so it can mount directly to a golf cart. The Pro speaker is an even better option because it includes additional features that aren’t available on the standalone unit, including detailed green maps that show contours and breaks to help with putting. There’s no additional upgrade or subscription required for those features—they’re built into the Pro model. Given the relatively small difference in price, I think the speaker versions—particularly the Pro—offer considerably more value than buying the standalone unit.
