We bought it because it was compatible with a manga reading app that my son was interested in. While researching, we found that it was compatible with our library's app as well (Cloud Library)...except that it wasn't. At least not out the box. I had to side load the app (after I looked up what side loading was) using one of the worst browsers I have ever used. I can read books from the library but not without taking 4 or 5 more steps than should be necessary. It has one of the least intuitive interfaces I have ever dealt with and the instructions that come with it are next to worthless. It only gets three stars because it allows for the reading of the manga app that we purchased it for. Everything else gets a 2 star or below.

wanted an open source ereader after my K model support discontinued. Hated that old one was somewhat locked into specific ecosystem without easy workarounds.
