This Bosch dishwasher leaves dishes sparkling clean, offers more ways to organize each load, and detects and prevents leaks. Plus, the child lock keeps kids out of harm’s way, so they can’t get into the dishwasher or accidentally start a cycle.
Q: should my new Bosch 800 show red light flashing on the floor or be on steady when on ?
A: If you're Bosch dishwasher displays a red light on the floor and it is currently blinking and the dishwasher is not running it is because you are out of rinse aid fill the reservoir and it should work. It is very hard to find this information.
A: There is a manual filter that you can easily access and empty. I especially wanted this, because I had to spend so much time and effort and would end up in pain with my old dishwasher. You would think that an "automatic" food grinding system would be ideal, but on our old highly-rated when bought KitchenAid dishwasher, I had to get down on the floor and contort and strain myself to dismantle the thing to clean it out. It was very difficult and required a great deal of hand/arm strength to take apart to get to the food grinding mechanism. Every so often a piece of plastic or crab shell or pistachio nut shell would get lodged in the food grinding system and clog it so that no food bits would get disposed, resulting in crud all over the dishes. I don't know how common this is, but I much prefer a system that is manual and easy to use. This machine has a 2-stage filter that just lifts out. I just cleaned it after 2 months of daily use and found a twister seal in the first compartment and food and debris in the second. Easily (and painlessly!) removed, rinsed with hot water, and replaced in two minutes.
A: It seems to be a European dishwasher option - no heating element for drying. It does have “extra dry” option which I’ve used - the water is very hot and I found everything dry when done. I have not tried a cycle without the extra dry option.
A: Don’t know the Kitchenaid except that we had an old 25 year old model that ran forever with no maintenance. But we decided on the Bosch because of the high ratings and we love it! So quiet, lots of loading options, love the 3rd rack on top for,odd utensils, etc. Also lots of cycle options for our family of 2 that doesn’t make a lot of dishes.
A: Yes, the third tray has slots where silverware can be lined up for washing. You can put shallow things or odd pieces like lids, spatulas.
A: Hi there. Thank you for your question. This dishwasher is not finger print resistant. There may be minimal finger prints that would require cleaning.
A: It comes with a power cord that plugs into the dishwasher itself, but instead of a wall plug, it has a junction box they expect you to provide either direct electrical connection or wire your own plug into it.
Q: how is the 300 series different from the 800 series
A: The 800 series can feature hidden controls with touch sensitive buttons, water softeners, smartphone connectivity, and the MyWay 3rd rack. Both models feature the same wash system and height adjustment for the top rack.
