It became a secondary hobby for me to find the ultimate pair of noise cancelling headphones; countless hours of YouTube Videos and visits to BestBuy to try different options. Without hesitation, I truly beleive this is the "Goldilocks" option. The noise cancellation is phenomenal, the weight is low, the on-station charge time will accomodate any world flight (>15 Hours), the foldup is super compact making for ultimate travel option, and the comfort is amazing. I have now had them for a few months now and truly love them. While I have seen some user's post down-sides like "the in-ability to turn off noise cancellation" to get crazy long battery life (do you really need 30 Hours continuous) or the price (which is in-line with similar players from Sony, Apple, JBL, and others).

If you don't pay much attention to the world of audio, it may surprise you to discover that Bose is a surprisingly divisive brand. There's a vocal, mostly online community that will bash anything Bose. “Bose is overpriced!”, they say. “No highs, no lows, must be Bose”, they say. I’m not a fan of every Bose product I’ve used. For example, whenever I try out my old AE2s in hopes that maybe I’ll appreciate them more, I’m always let down. But for every loser they make, there’s a few winners. I have a set of circa-90s 301s in my living room that I thrifted, and they really do sound great. I have a Bose sound system in my car, and I love it. I still use a Bose Wave Radio by my bed. The QuietComfort Ultra are a winner. They might actually be the best product Bose has ever made - their pinnacle. Peak Bose, you can say. The QuietComfort Ultra are Bose's newest high-end noise cancelling model, following up the Noise Cancelling 700 - which received some mixed reactions but have a bit of a dedicated fanbase. While the fit and finish isn't exactly on the level of this headphone's predecessor, and while I do prefer the look of the 700s, Bose has achieved a decent medium here. I remember people complaining about the metal build of the 700s being too heavy, and the Ultras don't feel like that at all. They’re incredibly comfortable and they don’t have the clamping force that people complained about on the old model. The Ultras do definitely feel lighter, and as a result they feel flimsier - but really Bose is sort of in a lose-lose situation here. They don’t feel cheap, but they don’t feel as nice as the 700s. They just feel like headphones. If I had to give them credit for one thing, if you get the right color, they look spectacular - I have the Diamond colorway, and it’s gorgeous. The moment you put them on, you can tell just how many years of engineering and care went into these. Bose is such an interesting company to me because they're an audio company that basically does weird things that no one else would ever do, while basically being /the/ most well known name in audio outside of maybe Apple, I guess. Amar Bose, the company’s founder, went on a plane ride in the late 70s and tried out a pair of the headphones the airline given to him. He hated the experience. The background noise was so distracting that he pulled out a notepad and drew up a preliminary design for noise cancelling headphones on the flight. It took a decade and $50 million to turn that concept into a workable product. Bose were the first company to market any noise cancelling headphones - to pilots in the late 80s and to the general public in 2000. I sound like I’m writing an advertisement right now, but I just wanted to give some context here. There’s bits and pieces of technology that I don’t really think much about, in that context - but the QuietComfort Ultras just feel different. Their noise cancelling is absolutely superb. They just… work. There have been times I’ve used them with no music playing and I’ve taken them off and I’ve been astonished about how much of the noise around me is just gone. If you have sensory issues like me, these can be a lifesaver. Just on that basis alone, I’d recommend them. But they’re headphones. /Bose/ headphones. How do they sound? I have a pair of Sony MDR-1AM2s, which are now discontinued but I've always loved them. They don't noise cancel, and they're wired, but they've been my go-to set for just listening to music out and around. Switching between them and the Bose, I was kind of surprised. The Sonys feel a bit warmer and a bit more bass-heavy, but honestly I prefer a slightly colder sound and that's where the QuietComfort Ultras shine. There's a few songs with prominent basslines where I still prefer the Sonys, but I was kind of surprised at first to find quite a few songs where I actually prefer the Bose. What's even more surprising to me is that I barely EQ'd them. In the app, it includes a built-in equalizer. I had the Bose NC 700s momentarily, and also tried the Sennheiser Momentum 4s (which, for the record, sounded great) - but with both, I couldn't really get the sound I wanted from the equalizers in both of their apps. Which, for me, is a problem because I'm an iPhone user and there's no other way of getting a more advanced EQ. With the Ultras, the sound I want might change just a little over time, but I'm never frustrated with how they sound. In fact, my current setting is basically just tuning the mids down 1db and sometimes adjusting the treble a little bit. That's it. Now, they do sound a bit more analytical, more flat. Maybe I’m just biased by being used to my MDR-1AM2s, but the Ultras actually sound a bit bright to my ears. These are headphones that make good recordings sound great and make bad recordings sound bad. To some people, that’s a good thing, and to others that isn’t. I reckon that most people will think these sound great and won’t mess with the EQ at all. However, if you mainly listen to bass-heavy music and you want your head to shake, these won’t give you that. The Sennheiser Momentum 4s will, and they'll give you more battery life, but they don't have the Bose's noise cancelling or honestly the Bose's ease of use. The Sennheisers are annoying sometimes. The Bose really aren't. The Sony XM5s might give you a bit more bass, too, but those have the hinge issue that everybody on the r/SonyHeadphones subreddit will tell you about the second excitedly you post there with the XM5s you just bought. Are the QuietComfort Ultras the world’s best sounding headphones that will wow everybody at CanJam? No, but that’s not what they’re meant to be. For most people, they’ll sound great - and their noise cancelling alone is enough to seal the deal. They look nice and fancy. They have an “Immersive Audio” mode, which while it’s sort of useless to me and makes everything sound worse honestly, is still kind of fun to try out sometimes. Don’t worry, you can turn it off. They have a nice case. If you have expendable income and all you want to do is listen to “Are You Jimmy Ray” by Jimmy Ray at 50% volume on a 15 hour flight in some semblance of actual peace, these are the headphones for you. The Bose QuietComfort Ultra are a technological marvel designed for people who just want to sit back and relax and listen to their favorite music - or just listen to nothing at all.

top quality headphones, even better than the previous model, excellent battery duration, used it on a flight from Miami to Portugal (9 hrs) and the battery was still 70%, noise cancellation is total, very light design, didnt hurt my ears after 9 hrs of using it, as per the price, I got it with a Visa reward of $200 so it cost me only $230, great price for a top quality headphones

Terrific noise canceling ability, decent bass when turned up on the equalizer in the app, comfortable faux leather padded ear covers, great adjustable size range, easy to use touch controls, multifunction soft touch button, great compact carrying case, comes with aux and USBC compatible charger cord, but no wall adapter, great transparent and motion tracking modes in the app, superb 40hr battery life, super clear built in mic. Great for everyday wear 8.5/10 could use a little more oomph in the bass department, not the most secure on head if you plan on using them for the gym, doesn’t come with a wall adapter for the charging cord even though it’s $370+, ear padding can get a bit hot at times if you are active while using them.

This has to be my favorite pair of headphones of all time. Let’s start first with the blue color, it’s a very dark blue and it looks absolutely gorgeous in this color. Next is the price, I ended up purchasing these on Black Friday when they were about $329 which I think is a steal for these. Next is the comfort! I can’t emphasize this enough! My glasses people these are the headphones for you! The comfort is the best part of these headphones. I wear glasses and various types and I never have that head crushing feeling after wearing these for a long time. Next is battery life it does the job! It lasts me alll day! I took it on a flight from jfk to Jakarta Indonesia and that’s not a short flight about 18 hours and it lasts the whole thing with about 15% left. Sound quality, now it is important to understand everyone has a different ear for sound and I prefer my bass cranked up and it is also equally important to stress to DOWNLOAD THE APP to access the EQ settings for thesr headphones. The bass is absolutely PHENOMENAL, it’s not muddy at all and it does a great job in delivering the bass to my liking and does exceptionally well with hip hop and rap music. J Cole, 50, K. Dot (etc) Now if you aren’t a bass head you can also tune the bass down as well as the mids and treble to your liking. Lastly is the ANC, the ANC is on a whole different level. I mean it’s almost scary how quiet it gets, and when you got something playing you wouldn’t even know a bus is flying by. In conclusion I have to say for full price it’s a little TGH but if you wait for the sales price! Absolutely give it a try! It’s sealed in my number 1 favorite headphones for a long time I even bought 2 pairs.

The noise-canceling feature works wonders, They’re also super comfortable to wear for long hours, which is a huge plus for me. The design is sleek and stylish, and the White Smoke color looks fantastic. I love that they’re easy to connect to my phone and have a decent battery life. There are noise-cancelling headphones and there is Bose. Listen or not listen, that is the question ! Here is a non-nonsense review : I’m not going to say whether you buy it or not. I don’t receive free products, and if I did, it would change nothing to my amazing reviews. I have quite a few headphones, just like everyone (gaming,daily commute, etc.). Bose has always been a safe value when it comes to unbeatable quality. Why ? It does what it’s supposed to do perfectly well, nothing less. Yes, even better than the competition. No, the competition is not bad; it’s just different if you are nitpicking on details (and that’s okay). Sound : customizable via Bose app (very decent and easy to use app), you can adjust bass, treble, cancelling level and whatnot. Bass : very good, not overpowering either. Overall quality : very good, sturdy, and what you can expect from this price line. Comfort : Bose, as usual, never disappoints. Very decent for long use. Connectivity : fantastic and easy to setup unlike some headphones available. Last but not least, NOISE CANCELLATION : absolutely fantastic. In any environment, especially planes with all the noise, train stations, etc. Noise cancellation mode : adjustable on the app Verdict : Bose is a piece of art that retains its value over time. The quality itself of the headphones is great. I got mine especially and specifically because of the noise cancelling and the feature that allows you to adjust how much noise you want to block or how much you want to hear. As a current college student going into nursing school, I often find myself having trouble finding where to study because there is always loud noises going on even in the quiet zones of libraries so these were the best choice for me, and also because I have very loud nieces and nephews that visit me on a daily. Not to mention as a student I always find my computer or phone dying on me mid lecture so these will automatically connect to any other device I have paired it with allowing myself to easily begin the lecture on another device without having to search for them on the Bluetooth tab. On the other hand I am also a person that struggles with depression and anxiety and the only way to get myself together that has worked the best is by listening to music or exercising with a good quality sound device. Not only the quality of the audio but also comfortability, these allow me to adjust the size to my head, and the ear cuffs rotate so when they are not in use I can put them around my neck and they stay rotate stay flat against me and allow movement of my head. Also another plus is the battery life, I can sometimes use it 4 days in a row and won’t die on me easily.

I’ll start by saying I have never been a Bose fan. Most likely because I listen to mostly hip hop and I’m somewhat a bass head. Recently this has changed as I travel for work and really prioritize anc as I’m constantly in airports and on planes. For comparison, I've tried the Sony xm4s and 5s, neither fit my small head, momentum 4s, AirPod max, and beat studio pros. These are the best sounding head phones out of any I’ve tried in multiple genres, and I’m able to use the eq settings to get the bass I want. These fit extremely well, no discomfort on long flights, and without question have the best anc of all (AirPod max and xm5 are somewhat close). I never thought I would ever be a Bose fan but here we are! Picture attached just to show I’m somewhat addicted to headphones lol!

I bought these QuietComfort Ultra headphones in June 2024 to replace my old Bose QC35 that I used for years. This is my second pair of Bose noise cancelling headphones, so I had high expectations. Overall performance is excellent. Noise cancelling is stronger than on my QC35, especially for low constant noise like engines and air conditioners. On planes and in crowded places they cut the background noise down to almost nothing. The aware mode works well when I need to hear what is happening around me without taking the headphones off. Sound quality is a clear step up from the QC35. Bass has more impact but still stays controlled. Vocals and details sound cleaner, even at lower volume. With the Bose app EQ I could dial in a sound profile that works for both music and movies. Comfort is classic Bose. I can wear them for long workdays, flights and gym sessions without pressure points. The new USB C charging is a big improvement. With the QC35 the old micro USB cable was always a hassle, now I can use the same cable I use for my phone and other devices. Call quality is better than on my old pair. People on the other side hear me clearly, even in noisy environments. For calls plus music these are one of the best all round wireless headphones I have tried. The big negative for me is the same problem I had with the QC35. After several months of regular use, especially in the gym where there is sweat and moisture, the earpads start to crack and peel. On this Ultra model the pads actually started peeling even faster than on my QC35. For this price level I expected Bose to fix that by now. I really hope the next generation uses more durable pads or includes a better sweat resistant design. If you want top tier noise cancelling, comfort and sound, these are an excellent choice and a strong upgrade from the QC35. Just be ready that with heavy use, especially workouts, you may need to replace the earpads sooner than you would like.

I purchased these in the middle of December 2023. These headphones are comfortable, and the audio provided feels next level. I come from the Sony - WH1000XM4 Wireless headphones I had for two years. The noise canceling is more profound than the Sony's, but it feels great. The Bose app works great and allows you to customize some settings. The headphones widen comfortably for larger heads. My only concern is that I sometimes would like the audio quieter, but I can't turn it down to the volume I want without going all the way down to mute it. It may be an iPhone aspect because I have used the headphones on my PS5 and can find a comfortable volume there. It may just be the noise canceling working a little too well, haha, but I felt it was worth mentioning.

The headphones are light and sound quality is amazing. The noise canceling is some of the best I’ve found. No complaints. Battery is extremely long lasting.
