Bowers & Wilkins - 607 S3 Series Bookshelf Speaker with 1" Tweeter and 5" Midbass (Pair) - Black

I replaced my B&W M1 front surround speakers with these 607s after listening to the difference between the 606 (larger bookshelf speakers) and these 607s. To my wife and I, the 606s sound better at louder volume levels (too loud for anything but a large party), and these 607s sounded much better and clearer at normal volume levels. They are fantastic! We moved the B&W M1 speakers to replace our older HK rear surround speakers, and they are also fantastic! We have a 3rd M1 as our center speaker (mainly voice) and it is SOoo clear! We are extremely pleased with the in-store service provided so we could make a choice after listening to the various speaker choices. Our only "con" is that they don't come with speaker stands. Pic shows a 607 on the far left sitting on a subwoofer and far right just under TV on the TV curio and an M1 for center channel centered under the TV on a shelf. Thank You Best Buy!!!

Found a great open box deal, but these sound good as new. Extremely clear, great range and balance. We love the way they sound for both movies and music. Currently using them in a 2.1 setup and they're perfect.

I confess that I did not buy these to be bookshelf speakers, but to be the fronts in a home theater system. The front right and left speakers in a home theater system only carry about 25-35% of the weight. Most of your sound is coming from the center channel. However, their spaciousness and quality is essential in creating that front dimensional space, and these little guys do it in spades. I highly recommend them where space is limited, but quality must remain.

For those who haven't experienced bowers and Wilkins speakers yet, You are in for a treat. From a young age when I didn't really know anything I found out about these things and I was able to get the revenue to purchase them by having expensive clients for a very short time. 30 years ago maybe. They sound better than real life and now you don't have to spend $2,500 for a set of speakers to get the same effect. Even the m1s do it. 607s3s are a good starting point. But then you can move into any of the floor standing speakers. Once you move up then B&W list you'll start to notice their designs and really reputable places. Heck they're in the control room for the Truman Show. If you get a good receiver and good speakers and do a basic good job wiring them up you will hear better sound than most people ever get to hear.

Phenomenal speakers. Not a better speaker in a compact size.
