A: Hello, Steve. Thank you for your interest in our product! Yes, the jug attachment is removable for this unit and all of our jug blenders.
Q: Is the container/jug glass?
A: Plastic. Braun indicates that this is a "safe" plastic and I guess I believe them. Even VitaMix comes with a plastic pitcher.
Q: is the pitcher glass or plastic?
A: Plastic. Even VitaMix comes with a plastic pitcher. The pitcher would be quite heavy if it were a safety glass.
