Q: Does this model have a variable depth slicing blade?
A: Yes, the Breville Paradice 9-Cup Food Processor has an adjustable slicing blade. There are actually 15 different thickness/depth settings on it. Change the thickness by turning the orange knob right or left.
Q: Can it grind horseradish root starting with 1" pieces?
A: While I will never grind horseradish because I do not eat it, and because when my dad made it when I was a little tyke, I had to wear a diving mask in the house to keep my eyes from burning, I do believe the Breville Paradice 9-Cup Food Processor will grind horseradish root with ease. This opinion is based on how easily it manages carrots and potatoes much larger than one inch. This is a truly great work-horse that cuts through food quickly and easily. One of the best things about it is how well it does what it's supposed to do without the high noise level. Ear plugs are NOT needed with this machine. It's amazingly quiet!
