we own a number of kitchen appliances from the wizards at Breville: countertop oven, toaster, hand mixer, etc. Our much used The Tea Maker finally developed an issue where the automatic rising and lowering of the tea basket seemed stuck. We have used it daily for probably 15 years; it's been a good run. On reflection, as I was looking to purchase another of the same, I came to the realization that I always repeated the exact same settings. I brewed black tea a 100º C for 5 minutes, with a keep warm of one hour. I never used any of the other 5 settings for temperature, various durations of brewing, or the set ahead the night before to have it waiting for you ready to drink in the morning. Our wake up times are so variable, that setting in advance is not an option. We only drink black tea. So it just made financial and practical sense to buy a kettle, and my watch can beep me when 5 minutes are done. By so doing, I get a simpler appliance, for about half the price. The Smart Kettle has lived up to its excellent reviews, for ease of use, and gentle closing lid, and single touch button for the desired water temp. We have only had it for about 2 months, so I cannot speak to longevity, but if it matches the decade+ of our beloved The Tea Maker, we will be overjoyed. We tend to brew a large pot for breakfast, and after 2 cups each, let the teapot cool, and use the rest for iced tea through the afternoon. So the large volume that the kettle holds is not going to waste.

Very pretty kettle; heated up fast. The handle had a bit of damage. Also, everything but the handle gets very hot so be careful.

Old teapot stopped working and I like Breville. Water is quick to heat up but if only for a small amount of water, pot is large. I love the look, we are trying different temps for tea options and overall happy.

Works as intended, no compromises and no regrets, makes my tea how i like. Quick and easy. Always liked breville products top notch!

Awesome electric kettle. It’s heats water to very precise temperatures. It’s perfect for my new born baby.

I love this thing! Ok, so confession time - we use a kettle to boil water mainly for cup of noodles. The only tea we drink in this house is sweet iced tea. That being said, it makes some amazing iced tea! We bring it to a boil, let it cut off, add the tea bags and steep for 6-7 minutes, then add to the sugar and water concoction we made while waiting for the water to boil. Its easy to clean out so that there's zero tea taste to the next pot of water we boil. Thats a huge benefit to it being a metal interior. And its just plain classy looking. We have the black Cafe appliances and while this doesn't match exactly, its close enough that it blends in nicely.

It is easy to clean and to use. We like the lower temps for certain teas such as night-time herbal teas. And we use the warm setting to keep hot water throughout the day.

This was a gift for my wife and she absolutely loves it! It heats super fast, I love the matte black in our all white kitchen and the surprise feature we both loved was the slow open lid (such a nice feature).

Breville makes the best version around. The settings are clear and easy to use, and the carafe fits perfectly on the base and is easy to hold and pour from. Best Buy made the purchase smooth and efficient. A perfect combination.
