A: The Bamboo Cutting Board we manufacture for this model makes a perfect heat deflector as it is designed to allow it to remain on top of the oven at all times including during extended operation.
Q: How hot does the outside of the oven get? Does the handle get hot?
A: The outside of the oven does get very hot. The handle, not so much. I just place my oven near an opened window so that it will cool off faster.
A: This is exactly what I would like for my Breville Crumb Tray. Something disposable. Does Breville or somebody have a product like this?
A: This oven is 1800 watts. At 1800 watts, the current required for a 120 V circuit would be 15 amps. Recommended that on a circuit no more than 80% of a circuit should be utilized. So.... 20 amp circuit x 0.8 = 16 amps. You need a circuit with probably 20 amps. Now other things can be used on the circuit but not necessarily all at the same time. Hope this helps.
Q: How is the "pro" different from the other breville smart iq oven?
A: The Smart Oven Pro also comes with an interior oven light to monitor your cooking progress. Plus a slow cook function designed for long cook times at low temperatures to tenderize and develop complex flavors. Slow cook for up to 10 hours before the setting automatically turns to keep warm so food is ready to serve when you are. Other Breville Smart IQ Ovens do not have the slow cook option.
A: There are pans that come with it, but I use other pans all the time. The only one I would consider "special" is the airfry basket, but you can use any pan you like under it to catch drippings. I actually ordered one of those copper air fry pans to use in this. It comes with a basket and drip pan. The pan I use now for drippings is actually the broil pan that came with the oven. No problems with using my other pans or anything flaking off. If it does, I'll just go get another. All pans wear out at some point, I guess. Hope this helps.
Q: HAS ANYONE COOKED CAKE OR BREAD IN THIS ?-
A: I've baked bread and actually bought this for my restaurant for doing test pies so I didn't have to keep using our big commercial oven. Other than the height it works great. If your doing a high rising bread I wouldn't advise it.
