Breville Temp Select Kettle: Boiling water is quick and simple with this kettle, which features 5 programmed temperature settings and a keep-warm button, so contents are ready when you are. The soft-opening lid lets out steam to prevent splashing.
A: I also had rust problems with a Cuisinart tea kettle less than a week after purchasing it. So, I returned it. Then I purchased this Breville temp select tea kettle as it had good reviews (no mention of rust issues) and the rubber/plastic seal inside the tea kettle is BPA free. I've had it for a couple months and I haven't had any issues with rust. I do make sure I empty any leftover water at the end of the day. As some other reviews have stated - it beeps quite a bit for various reasons (on/off. etc). But, it really isn't terribly annoying because I think it is a great tea kettle.
Q: does the lid come off for easy filling?
A: No. The lid is permanently attached via a hinge on an oil dampened slow opening geared mechanism. The size of the opening is more than adequate for just about any "normal" faucet spigot.
