This printer is probably better suited to a business office than a home office. It is rather bulky for my home office setting, but I like its quiet operation, good print and scan features, and inexpensive ink when compared with other printers I have owned. The biggest drawback that I've experienced so far is troubleshooting a paper jam--very difficult to do, and judging from my internet search I am not alone in this regard.

Extensive on-line research for multi-function printers that play well in Mac OS kept returning this Brother printer model. The printer instantly paired via WiFi with all our office computer stations, and has been pushing out sharp copies ever since. Wish I knew about this unit before purchasing our previous multi-function printer two years ago.

I have been shopping and researching for months, while growing more and more frustrated with my old HP all-in-one. I had never really considered a Brother printer before, but I was really tempted by the tabloid size printing and scanning. I bought this printer a little over a month ago. So far, it has been great, especially compared to my last inkjet all-in-one printers (HP and Epson). The (double-sided) scanner is better than I expected, again much better than the HP all-in-one it replaced. I don't use the fax. As for printing, it is responsive and fast. The software/drivers for windows work well. I am pleased with the printing of documents and photos and very happy to have automatic duplexing. One drawback is the fact that the ink cartridges are not available at retail stores, and apparently it may not print if one of the colors is empty. So, I will keep delivered spares on hand. It is a big unit, so clearly not right for those looking for a small form-factor. But for those in need of large format printing and scanning... I recommend this one. The rest of my family are "macs" (and IOS devices). They have been very happy with the output as well from all of their devices.

I spent a lot of time reading reviews, etc. before we bought this printer. Our current printer was an Epson Workforce printer, which we loved and have had for 6 years, but the cost of ink was a killer. We looked at the new EcoTank printers, but they seemed so cheaply built in comparison. We use our printer/scanner for a variety of personal and home office applications, and a duplex scanner was an important criteria, as well as a lower cost of ink. This printer is large and heavy, but we have the room for it. This printer is a work horse - the printing speed is fantastic, the duplex scanning has worked flawlessly, the quality is very good for a printer in this class. We have not printed any photos on it yet, but really didn't buy it for that and don't expect good photo quality from a non-photo printer. The only difficulty so far is the wireless printing, sometimes our iPhones and iPad find the printer immediately, and sometimes they can't find it at all, but we haven't determined yet if this is a router issue or a printer issue. We haven't had it long enough yet to determine the ink costs, but I am certain they will be less than our previous printer. It was easy to set up and easy to use. The touch screen is very intuitive and responsive. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a more solid home/office printer.

Can print and scan up 11x17. Scan and print quality is exceptional. I did have a problem using card stock.

This is probably my 5th Brother printer in 8 or 9 years. I really like the 11x17 scan, & 11x17 print. Print quality is what you'd expect - great. Easy to set up as wireless, and I can print from computer, phone, and tablet. Good stuff.

I did a lot of research before buying this printer, having recently been burned by another printer purchase that did not have the duplex scanning feature it claimed to have *ahem*Cannon*ahem*. After receiving and using the printer extensively, I can say I have been very happy with the quality, responsiveness and features of the printer. My only nitpick so far is that the scan feeder often pulls documents in at a slight angle, regardless of how careful I line them up.

This is a replacement for the Epson I bought earlier, this thing is not small and setting it up was a snap. Set up as a wired printer on my network and it just works. My wife even approves of it since she is able to print from her MacBook with no problem. As a copier it sure is nice not having to go elsewhere to make a copy of my documents.

Impressed with the print quality and it was fairly easy to set-up. I am able to print wirelessly from laptop to this printer. The scan function also works great, however I have not been able how to send scans wirelessly back to my laptop. Have been using a thumb drive to transfer scans. It may be able to this, just haven't had the half hour to an hour to research how.

Very powerful multi functional printer. It is very easy to set up from the instructions provided including connections to the network. The unit is also very quiet during operation.

I have not had a chance to change ink cartridges on this machine yet. It’s very fast, dual sided printing make it so much nicer to print forms, etc. it’s not the cheapest printer out there but not having to change ink every month sure makes it pay for itself in a hurry!

Printing is FAST and the photos are very good quality! Not sure yet about how long the cartridges last but have had the printer for 4-5 months and print a fair amount (for a home printer). REALLY like this unit MUCH better than the Epsons I’ve had.

this printer was easy to set up and produces great prints. Used mainly as a production printer with a few picture on regular paper, great results. Need to use to appreciate.

I use this printer in my home, but I use it to print books which I bind and sell. This machine is very economical. Way more cost effective than going to Kinko's or whatever and it uses pigmented inks which you don't typically get at copy shops (it's usually laser or dye inkjet). It handles Tabloid (11x17") paper fairly well and importantly for me, it keeps the front and back print lined up ("registered") decently. Not perfectly, but good enough for my hand bound books. I didn't give it 5 stars because small printed fonts (6pt) are only "OK." That said, it's unlikely that any inkjet available to a home user would do much better.

We are partial to Brother, this is our 4th Unit. Not that they broke we just have more than (1) in the Office. This printer has by far been the best! I love it, it does everything I need it to & it saves on Blue Prints due to having the Ledger feature (Got to have that). If something goes wrong I'll come back & update but for now, you can't beat this printer for small office.

I have owned and used this printer for a few years now. Previous printers were always short lived. There were either Wi-fi connectivity problems, or color print problems - always some disappointing issues with previous printers and brands. Not this one! I have never had a connectivity problem between my PC or home Wi-Fi, wireless is always easy and works perfectly for years! Not to mention high quality scanning and great color printing!

The printer is a good multi function printer. It uses ink sparingly and has good connectivity options. Good for home office use.
