I was looking for a printer I could get off my desk and put on the shelf of my hutch. Perfect. Works great, easy set up and fairly quick. Though I wish it held more paper, it does hold more than some of the other small try units. Happy so far.

I am nearly the least tech savvy person around and, by following the simple instructions to input my Internet address and password into the printer and then, on my laptop, going to “devices and printers”, and adding this printer - it was all up and running, wirelessly printing from both my I-phone 6S and from my Dell laptop. The color prints are very nice (as my previous printer was mono color). The price for this printer is very reasonable and I like that the ink refills are also reasonably priced and do not require an ongoing ink subscription as I’ve heard some printers do. The moving plastic parts seem a bit fragile - I handle it carefully and there’s no kids around to worry about rough handling so this is a non issue in my household. Overall a great product, I’m very happy with it - and, if I can set this up and get her going - anyone can!! Thx Best Buy!

Excellent printer for the price plus the benefits of the INKvestment cartridges. The ink will last 5 times longer than the typical inkjet cartridges and actually costs less. Setup was easy and the printer is not bulky. The printer has all the features for my needs, wireless, mobile app for printing, ADF, flatbed, double side printing, and if one color empties, you don't have to buy all the colors, you just need to but the one color that is empty.

This printer is great so far! It was easy to set up and the print quality is terrific. The only trouble I had was adjusting the size of the paper tray. It was jammed, but I was able to adjust it eventually without breaking it, thankfully!

So far printer has been very good. Set up was very easy. My only issue is with loading paper - it requires pulling out the entire tray from under the printer, and the tray looks to be very cheap plastic. Since we do a lot of two sided copying and use the paper loading tray a lot, I am waiting to see if the tray will hold up with constant use.

Have always been loyal to Brother printers because of their affordability and quality, this one hasn't let me down. I am especially in love with the scanning apps on this all-in-one. It is effortless to scan to my OneDrive and directly to email. Easy to set up and quality is perfect and printing is fast. Refilling ink is economical and that is my main criteria for picking a printer.

So far so good. The thing I really like about this printer is the ability to only replace certain colors when they run out versus having all colors but black in a single cartridge. I feel one wastes less ink that way. This has been good for light volume home office production. Installation was a breeze.

Printed decent quality prints, but was definitely a bit slow on the full color prints. Easy to setup and use, just a bit slower than I had expected. As long as you aren't looking for something particularly fast, I'd recommend this. Note that it did need a firmware update when initially setup.

This printer is great for the price. Ink lasts a long time and is very cheap to replace. Printer is not the fastest and the copy feature is a little slow. Setup was easy, ink replacement is easy, paper refill is easy. Overall, solid printer for the price, great for home use.

Print quality is very good and printing speed is good for home use. Setup was easy for both MacOS and Win10 with no issues. AirPrint works as it should. The printer footprint is small compared to the HP it replaced. Scanning and copying worked fine. I do not have a landline and did not test the fax function.

I chose the Brother printer because the price point was exactly right - got it at the sale price. I especially liked the fact that the ink supply lasts longer than my previous printer's - I always seemed to be running out of ink. I would recommend this printer to others.

This printer went back :( Here is what I liked about it: 1) Awesome support from Brother, I used the chat and they are efficient and polite, always guiding you through the steps, top notch support! 2)Nice apps integration and software. 3)Low cost ink Here is what I didn't like: 1) the paper tray, not too easy to fill with paper at least compared to my previous HP 8600 printer which it was a breeze. 2) A little bit too loud, it has a "quiet mode" though that works pretty well but it does slow down the printing. 3) The most important issue I had it was with the colors that come out, too bland and weak, I changed all settings possible but the colors remained too weak. I need to print lots of pages with presentations and stuff and the colors were just too awful. The experience with this product however at the end of the day makes me want to give Brother another shot for sure maybe with a more expensive model?

I don't know how durable it's going to be but right out of the box it prints great. Easy setup but it did take a while to load the software. Easy scanning and copying too. Perfect for home. No more screwing around with the print head to replace the ink either.

I haven't owned this printer very long but I've owned 2 other printers by Brother and they were also great. One is still a work horse at my office. This new printer was extremely easy to set up wirelessly to several computers and prints fantastic.

I picked this model for its small size and lower print costs but wanted to have page feeder feature also. This one is nice as the feeder folds down completely when not in use. Set up was easy. The printer is very quiet compared to my HP6500. Everything works great. Haven't replaced cartridges yet so can't comment on how long they last but quality is very good.

I've been using this printer for a couple of months. It has been reliable and easy to use. Printing wirelessly and scanning are what I do most with it. I'm happy with it but I purchased the extended warranty because I have a history of having printers break down just before the 1 year warranty is up (mostly HP or Epson brands). My mother has a Brother All In One and it's over 3 years old and working great still so I decided to give one a try.

Prints quickly with good quality. Very good product for reasonable price. Replacement ink is also reasonable

I researched printers carefully to replace our maddening HP 6500. The HP driver often would not Install on guest computers, had barely used expensive ink cartridges expiring, and had a fragile paper feed and print head. The j985 installed easily, but it lacks a "fast draft" mode to save time and ink. This basic miss alone may eliminate the ink savings I was expecting. Its only color mode seems to be an in-between setting. On standard paper it was slightly lower quality and faster than the 5 year old HP at its best setting, but much slower than the HP's perfectly legible fast draft. For classroom or volunteer handouts or printing something to read, it's fine, but it falls short for producing business quality presentations and wastes time and ink on drafts. Have not done photos, but I am skeptical that it will meet our expectation that a 2016 printer would beat a 2010 from the same price range. If it had fast draft modes and bigger paper feed and output trays, it would be much better.

This was an inexpensive printer with copier, fax machine. It is easy to use. This is VERY LOUD and sounds like it's going to explode but we are keeping it.

This printer is easy to set up. It has a relatively small foot print on the desk. I like that the ink cartridges can be changed without having to open the mechanism of the printer like an HP. One problem is the paper tray which seems rather flimsy. Really satisfied so far.
