Like most toner cartridges, I have always paid the penalty of higher cost for an OEM product. I do not know if this is really important or not, but there are enough scare stories across the web that I get genuine toner. Brother toner is pricey, and the cartridges need to keep better count of the number of pages printed, but it works.
