Although there has been a recent critical push give TUNNEL OF LOVE the credit it deserves, this album remains underrated compared to those that precede it in Springsteen’s discography. The sharp songwriting of NEBRASKA is paired with the rich production of BORN IN THE USA, creating a unique texture for a set of songs focused primarily on the complexities of love. This reissue is cut to four sides, a practical decision that has the added benefit of highlighting the album’s immaculate sequencing. Side 3, comprised of “Tunnel of Love,” “Two Faces,” and “Brilliant Disguise,” is a stunner. Also includes a download card for an MP3 copy of the album.
