Needed an external Blu-Ray player for my desktop computer and took a chance on this. The drive is easy to open. The disc snaps in via the center. There is an eject button on this particular drive, too. It does come with PowerDVD12 software and plays Blu-Ray discs. It's also a quiet little device. There are two USB cables attached, but if you have a 3.0 USB port, one will suffice. Burning is also a breeze. Glad I bought this!

This little Blu Ray Player works great. I have not tried watching DVDs or Blu Rays on it yet but I have used it to load software. It is easy to use. The only drawback is the cable to connect to ur PC is very short. I am using it with my DESKTOP and I think it is meant for laptops. Oh P.S. I have a windows 11 HP PC.

I bought this item because I have an older laptop without blu-ray player. I read the reviews and decided on this one. With the usb plugs on opposite sides of my laptop I bought an inexpensive 10 port that also plugs into electric outlet and gives that extra boost. The Buffalo blu-ray player is plugged into 2 of the 10 ports and works great. It was very easy to add to my laptop and I'm a novice I'm still learning things about using a laptop.

This thing is great! Super small, easy to use, burns CDs perfectly. Highly recommended.

I bought this because new laptops don't come with DVD/CD drives. Installation was quick and easy. Works as expected. One time after the PC went to sleep when I woke it up it did not see the drive until I unplugged it and plugged it back into the USB port. Otherwise I have no complaints.

I was pleased with the Buffalo external optical drive and it being a blu-ray compatible. I have not tried burning a blu-ray disc or even a regular disc but it as for ease of use and reading discs, it works great. I paid a little more for this than some of the other external optical drives, but I was wanting the blu-ray readability and the blu-ray burning was a bonus. It was worth the extra and it feels of very good quality.

The Blu-Ray burner hardware is very good, however the set-up instructions could be a little better presented. Overall ,I am very satisfied with the product operation.

I wanted to be able to play older CD's that i have that came with books that I own while still being able to play the newer blue-ray DVD's and it does just that

Now I can watch all my Blu-ray DVD's alone with other CD's I have in my collection. Very light weight and slender.

Great unit. Fast and easy to use. Note you need 2 USB ports on your computer to use. 1 for data and 1 for Power (unless you have a high powered port)

Bought to take on a plane since laptops don't come with DVD drives anymore. Played movies great without skipping or lagging. Helped passed the time on a long flight

This product works fine with my desktop software. The quality of the discs created is very efficient, and plays back with no problems.

Plug and Play without a hitch. My application involved a PC, not a Laptop. The equipped USB cables are ideal for Laptop use.

Needed a dvd player for my computer. This filled the bill. Can be used as a dvd player recorder, and Blu-Ray player.

I haven't had a chance to try burning with it yet, but playback works fine. Didn't realize just how small it was until I opened the box - which is great if you need a take-along DVD drive for a drive-less laptop (or tower), as well as it doesn't take up much space on your desk.

As with most computers now, my new computer did not come with a Blu-Ray drive. So I looked around and decided to try this one since the price point was good. I have not ripped anything yet, but the player works fine. This unit does come with PowerDVD12 player software. It's not the greatest, but it gets the job done, but it's free and included, so there's that. But if you want to pay, there are other programs out there, too. Anyway, I have had no issues with playback, so this was money well spent.

Easy to set up. I have only USB 3.0 so I needed to plug into just one port. It may not be as fast as other brands but because it works with both Windows and Mac Os, that is exactly what I needed. So far so good!
