Literally what I have been missing, can't recommend this grip enough. Only negative thing I can't point out, it makes your R6/R5 a little heavier. It feels good holding your camera especially if you have big hands

As far as battery grips go... It is expensive. In addition, the thumb dial is in a strange location that does not ergonomically make sense. Besides the two previous statements, the battery grip is great. The added power and functionality help to shoot all day, which is a problem with the R5/R6. The batteries can be charged from the grip, and ensure that the mechanical shutter speed stays higher for longer (normally the mechanical shutter speed dips with battery percent). The grip feels natural in the hand, and helps give the R5/R6 a more professional feeling.

I'm an enthusiast photographer. I have an R5, had the R, and a number of Canon DSLRs in the past. I currently transitioned to shooting portraits and this grip is amazing. Given the price of the R5, I was going to hold off on buying the grip, but holding it in portrait mode was uncomfortable. However, the grip not only makes holding it easier, but the button and joystick placement is a lot more natural for me than the current placements on the R5 itself. I still struggle to find the right button on the R5, but on the grip, I just know where things are and can quickly do what I need. The grip is also a good size for my hands (male), making me enjoy holding the R5 vertically as opposed to landscape mode. The grip does add to the weight, a lot more than the grip for the EOS R, I believe. And when combined with two batteries AND one of the chunky RF lenses Canon has made (mine is the RF 85mm 1.2), the camera ends up being a bit heavy. Personally, I don't mind because it feels sturdier as a result, but is something to consider as well. It's also a bit expensive, in my opinion at $350. I was able to get it with gift cards and such, so I didn't pay much. But price is another reason why I wanted to wait on buying the grip but I was fortunate enough to be able to get it. Love this grip a lot more than the EOS R grip and think it's a key addition to the R5.

love it its how the R5 should of came. i have bigger hands so its alot better to have a nice grip on my r5 and not feel like its going to drop. also the 2 batteries is great. yes its not a cheap grip but does it pay for itself yes. makes it feel more balanced as well.

DSLR shooter making the conversion to mirrorless. The Canon R5 is a dream come true and has the best ergonomics of any camera I have used. I add grips to all my cameras for ease of handling and especially added battery longevity. Had such high hopes for this grip, waited three months to receive. Canon quality is excellent, but the attachment is very awkward and no amount tightening removes all the wiggle, never feels secure on camera. Button layout as well in NOT intuitive like my other grips. I have average size men's hands and finger placement is very cramped, my pinky does not fit in the allotted space. As much as I wanted this it actually ruins the camera experience for me. I will return.

Well built but definitely adds a considerable amount of weight to the R5. Some of the buttons are slightly off from the r5 layout. The joystick is a little bit difficult to get to. Overall a good product.

Nice battery grip. I always trust Canon products as they are build solid. I am very happy with this purchase as I have big hands and this grip allows me to get a good grip on the camera.

Fits my Canon R6 perfectly and provides long battery life so we’re not having to swap out batteries often. I can also use this with my DJI RS2.

Fits well, provides extra battery life for my R5. Also helps provide balance and ease of use whenever using larger lenses. No issues with connection failures. Best Buy purchase was simple, shipped within a reasonable amount of time especially considering mailing and shipping delays from our post apocalyptic virus world.

This battery grip looks incredible on my display shelf. It's a constant reminder to myself that I have everything I need to enjoy the R5 except for the R5. ...I dust it off every few weeks to keep it looking fresh while I wait several more weeks for my R5 preorder. I am so glad I made this purchase haha. **I will update this to a real review once I actually get the R5 in the mail**

Makes my R5 feel wonderful. While I have large hands the functionality is so worth buying the grip. Two batteries make it an all day camera. Love it

Great add on for a R5 or R6. Gives you the vertical shutter and double the battery storage. It’s a must have for longer photo shoots.
