The first pic I took with this lens, I was surprised how sharp it really was, especially after so many reviews talked about how it is soft, especially around the edges. I use this lens on a 70D, so it's not as wide as it could be, and I mostly use it for video. That being said, for video, the autofocus is really loud and the mic picks up the noise, but those situations are few and far between as I mostly use manual focus. I shot a ton of video with it and will be uploading to YouTube. If you want to see more, check out youtube.com/brandonaldred and the video will be there.
This is my first L-series lens. I use it a lot for car shows and events that requires width. Overally, go get it! Pros: Very Sharp!, wide angle on ff, fixed wide aperture, sharpness contrast build quality, sharp amp Cons: Cost lot of money, big expensive filter, corner sharpness not 100, also bit long, 82mm gripe geeze

I went with this lens because I wanted a wide angle lens that had a workable range to be able to get the shot I want straight out of camera without having to think much about cropping after. Sharp lens. Well built. Cant wait to stack some filters on for that awesome 10 stop wide angle long exposure landscape shot.

I'm a professional working photographer in the music industry shooting concerts and would recommend this lens! Great look for when close to subjects but want to capture all the action. Also great for landscapes!

I was looking for a wide angle lens to substitute my 17-40. This lens fits perfectly for photographers looking for a higher apperfure lens. 5mm lost on lens are almost nothing and you get a lot with extra f/ stops on this lens.

Great wide angle lens. I use it for real estate photography. Sharp, good in low light, fast.

If you want to take wide shots of landscapes this is the lens for you. It brings out rich colors when coupled with the 5d markiii.

Great wide angle focal range. I can't imagine needing anything wider other than for a certain artistic look. Fast focusing, sharp results. Only thing is canon does not recommend this for the new 5ds and mark 4 cameras. I'm waiting to see the difference with the new 16-35 L3

Been wanting a this lens for a while. Very solid build but bit too heavy. If you want to use it during travel you better be prepared to carry this and your DSLR body.

I've owned the 28-70L 2.8 for years and love it but the 24-70L 2.8 is even better. The extra wide angle is really helpful and the improved color and contrast is amazing.

This lens is sharp and awesome in low light. great for astrophotography and landscape. Only negative is no image Stablilization. but it is a wide angle lens.

This is a fabulous lens! Just returned from Europe with some unbelievable pix. Super sharp throughout its zoom range with only miniscule vignetting when wide open & none beyond 18 mm. Great build quality & weatherproof. Landscapes are fantastic as are city shots. Works great for street photos too. Rotated my new lenses at first but as the trip unfolded this lens was on my camera more & more. Once I used this lens for a few days I realized how irreplaceable it is. Highest recommendation for anyone who wants to shoot fantastic WA pix. I love this lens!

The lens is sharp enough on the 5d mark iii. It does have quite a bit of vignette when wide open, which is easily corrected in Lightroom. However, it does have a good amount of fish-eye effect wide open, which causes some serious vertical distortion. Not my absolute best lens, but it's good for the range it covers.

I'm using this lens on a Sony A7S and FS700 along with a metabones adapter. No complaints so far. On low battery the aperture control is sluggish on the A7S but that could be the camera and/or adapter. This is a greats lens. I would buy it again.

I read all the reviews and decided to buy this lens, and I'm happy that I got it. Better quality pics, and faster focusing.
