The Canon EF-S 55–250mm has been one of the most impressive and budget-friendly telephoto lenses I’ve used. Despite its lightweight and compact build, it delivers excellent image quality—photos come out sharp, with pleasing color and contrast. The STM autofocus is fast, smooth, and nearly silent, making it a great choice for both photography and video.

I love this lens! For those who are looking for telephoto lens, the EF-S 55-250 is an excellent choice. The motors are quiet which is really great when recording video. During the lockdown, I bought this (they even brought it to the car for contactless delivery) to have. As soon as I put it on my Canon 77D I was amazed. Its very comfortable and well balanced when attached to the camera. I even took some great close up pics of the flowers while on our walks.

I use this lens most out of the three I own. I love and use it because I'm able to get great shots of my kids playing sports while they are far away from where I'm sitting. Before the pictures I took were of figures in the distance that weren't easily recognizable. I would ask parents with better cameras if they could send me the great shot they got of one of my children. Now I'm the parent with the great pictures of the kids facial expressions when kicking the ball at 25 feet away. It's also not too heavy, although it obviously weighs more than say a 50mm lens.

Great for capturing the wildlife in my backyard from a safe distance! I am very happy with this lens and super impressed with the level of detail I can capture from such a far distance.

I use this a lot for nature shots and it works really well. If you are trying to capture animals at a further distance then you probably want to go higher than 250mm. I am very happy with the lense. Quick AF and clear pictures.

This lens made the camera that much more worth it, I’ve taken some pictures of my cats so far and I love how they’ve been coming out. Waiting to take more photos out and about

My wife and I broke are 70 to 250 lens. It's one of our favorites and we have many. We use this particularly in so much that it was considered an absolute necessity to replace it. I know it is classified as a "kit" lens but the photos are top-notch. I would recommend it to anybody. It focuses quickly and is sharp

To be honest, I've not been able to use this lens: my wife has commandeered to use on her Canon camera. The good news is she uses it often and likes it. The images are nice and clear and to her that's all that matters

Easily my favorite camera lens to date. Super versatile. I initially got it to take sports photos but it is also fantastic for when I take photos of birds.

Easy to use, easy to interchange lenses. Mostly used for sporting events and did pretty good as a new user!

Just starting out with photography and he Canon EOS 70D. Haven't used this lens much, tried it out to capture the moon. Did well, but in the pic attached it's pretty much maxed out of zoom.

This is a very good lens. I purchased it for a cruise featuring 60 heavy metal bands and wanted to use this for the distance shots. Indoors and outdoors, day and night the images were good. A tripod would have solved a few problems, but those were my fault and we live to learn.

I had this lens before and damaged it irreparably. I loved how it performed for price-point. The only caveat on this new lens is that the gold trim strip started to come off the perimeter of the lens. Will not affect its performance but it should have come off the lens barrel. My original lens had no such issues. In image below, one can see the gold trim tape is absent just aft of the focus ring.
